Those who justify great evil are just as guilty as those who carry it out. We Irish suffered the same kind of wickedness from the English for centuries. We recognise it when we see it done to others . We are pretty well the only country in Europe who condemned this vile wickedness so strongly. Why? Because we suffered it for many, many centuries ourselves.

And this is one of the reasons I’ve avoided forums of most kinds. We should be praying for peace and encouraging others in following His Way. We should not be condemning each other. Tempers flair and words are said and misunderstood when being typed. Evil is all around discord and confusion reigns. That is his plan.

The truth is Jesus Christ is King and Lord and ALL of us are sinners in desperate need of His Mercy. He who is without sin cast the first stone. I would think newcomers would be appalled at the last few pages of this thread. I know I was. I come here seeking spiritual guidance and companionship not to listen to a political debate on which side is more evil. ALL are in great need of His Love and Peace. I hear enough of this on the little news and podcasts that I see. The title of this thread is Signs. And one great sign of the times imo has been the diatribe on this thread (at least on the last few pages) on who has committed the greatest evil.
It feels like deja vu all over again from just this past Saturday. Hoping it’s just rhetoric, but seeings more and more sources (who knows reliability anymore) that Israel will retaliate. I think it’s time to continue to pray.
Zionism is a very strong force within the USA especially among Evangelical Christians. They are convinced that Jews are especially chosen by God and still have a special covenant with him., They also believe that Israel has a big role to play in the end times and will lead to the return of Christ. If you tried to tell them that Israel has turned Gaza into the world's biggest open air prison over the last few decades or that during prior wars the Israelis would do things like blast hard core pornography over all Palestinian tv stations, they'd never believe you. I don't know about other countries but in the US, you can't say anything negative about Jews or Israel without being called anti-Semitic. Also AIPAC, the American Israel Political Action Committee, is THE most powerful lobbying group in the US. It's almost impossible to be elected to Congress or the Office of President without promising loyalty to Israel. If a candidate refuses to support Israel, AIPAC will support whatever candidate runs against that person regardless of party affiliation. Rumor has it that President Kennedy wanted AIPAC to register as a foreign agent and that was one of the reasons he was assassinated. The Catholic Church teaches the Jewish people were and are specially chosen by God. The Church, of course, endorses the same the Bible verses that Evangelicals cite about Israel's role in the End Times. The verses comes directly from scripture. Both John XXIII and John Paul II wrote about Catholic-Jewish relations. Their bottom line: Any hint of prejudice should be avoided by Catholics, as Jews are our "Elder Brothers in the Faith." There are arguments both about Replacement Theology and Dual Covenant. There is not a definitive magisterial document on this question, however. In the last episode of “My Time Posting on MOG”, I exited in an admittedly blaze of ridiculousness, citing the countless posts and subsequent ways in which the world was going to potentially implode in all of our faces. Given I’m already riddled with anxiety up to my eyeballs, I decided that this site, save for Glenn’s posts on Garabandal, wasn’t suited for me. Throughout many months, once in a blue moon I would still peek back in, looking for what I came here for to begin with. Encouragement. You see, I left a site on Medjugorje long ago because a simple opinion post on pets led to attacks from all sides. So, once in a blue moon I’d see a series of posts here, where one person or another was , in my opinion, unfairly treated, and I would contact them privately to offer a little empathy and encouragement. Along comes today, and I sought out signs of hope on this site. My anxiety is through the roof, past the clouds, and through the stratosphere. It’s so far out there I see satellites. But what I found under the heading “ signs” reminded me all too much of my experience on that Medjugorje site from long ago. So. Without intending to lecture anyone, and hating that Im letting myself get drawn into this, here’s my promissory note of 2 cents ( I literally do not have two actual cents to my name). For me, I have a very simple view of the world. The middle east is a pretty rough place and it surrounds a lone democracy ( of some sort). Im not getting into the nitty gritty of any of it. Anytime there isn’t violence, violence is threatened. Then you have people commenting on all of it. Everyone has their sources and facts. Some are true, all are true, or none are true. For me, and Im sure many others, knowing who’s set of facts are entirely true and reliable is almost impossible, given the nature of today’s media. So along comes one poster here, giving her opinion. Then multiple others counter her opinion. In reading through, it certainly seems apparent that almost all if not all parties involved are “for” good, “against” evil, believe in Jesus and just want good and peace to prevail. But ( and it’s a big but), the issue that turned me off like a light switch getting slapped off with a baseball bat is the tone of the posts, many of which were in subtle or overt condemnation of the one poster . So who’s set of facts are correct? Even if you sincerely believe a person has their facts wrong you simply give your own opinion and leave it at that. Some of what I see on the recent two pages are one of the million reasons I left Facebook long ago. So, from now on I must limit myself entirely and solely to peeking in on “Garabandal Info and Answers” and Glenn’s posts, and I will link up to that page directly to avoid even inadvertently seeing other posts . I must refrain from looking at any other posts, responses or private messages. And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming. If I sound like Im lecturing, Im just a schmuck trying to get through this life like everyone else.
