The Pope as far as I think is the guardian of the deposit of the faith. If he fails to protect the deposit of the faith that is the measure for me. The judgement of his life and actions are God's affair.
We the sheep surely have a valid expectation that he will defend the truths of our faith handed down from the apostles.

We are in the midst of Lent, on a journey with Jesus. Where does his Passion begin, a Passion which leads to horrific suffering: physical suffering, mental anguish, and death. It begins in the Garden. The three disciples nearby have abandoned Him in their sleep and Jesus is alone under demonic mockery and attack. "Abba, Father, let this cup pass me by. But let it be as you will, not I." In His human frailty, Christ cringes, but in His love, He submits to the Eternal Plan.

We are also called to submit to whatever authority the Father places over us as long as that authority does not demand an act of sin. Our local spiritual authority is the Diocesan Bishop.

In regard to the reputed prophecies, in my opinion, the choice to stop the publication of said prophecies is clear.

I am still at a loss over the Bishop's callous demand that the family comply immediately by abruptly ending their livelihood as a retreat center. That appears so vindictive to drive a family into bankruptcy at a center the Bishop himself had celebrated Holy Mass.:( No comprendo!

    Lord have Mercy!

I agree with Robert. That does not make either of us a sedevacantist.

Sedevacantists are a group of Catholics who do not believe we’ve had a valid pope since 1958.

Believing PBXVI’s resignation was not valid due to error on his part and/ or coercion, and thus the conclave of 2013 held no authority whatsoever, does not make one a sedevacantist in the sense in which the term has come to be understood since 1958.

Recognizing the documented abuse of the “conclave” of 2013 that blatantly violated the LAW laid down by PJPII, which incurs latae sentiente excommunication and negates that conclave’s outcome, does not make one a sedevacantist in the sense in which the term has come to be understood since 1958.

These are simply observations of objective reality.

Bergoglio therefore would not now be, nor ever was, a valid pope. No obedience is due to him.

History will show how simple and obvious this all was, and how few recognized it at the time, even while doing mental gymnastics to explain away Bergoglio’s obvious heresies and trying to square them with the promises of Christ regarding the papacy. It cannot be done. The only possibility is that he was never validly elected in the first place.

Whether this locution has any merit is a moot point. It might be authentic; I’m inclined to think it may indeed have been so.

The subsequent disobedience of this priest does not disprove the content of the prior locution, that Bergoglio is a usurper.

That much, that he was never validly elected and that is the ONLY way to explain the current situation in the Church, is obvious regardless of this priest’s status or his archbishop’s subsequent actions against him.

No trial of Bergoglio for heresy is necessary as he was never validly elected.

The argument that “no one can judge a pope” does not apply if he was never a pope to begin with.

The argument that universal acceptance or recognition of Bergoglio as pope makes him pope does not apply if he was not validly elected pope.

The answer to this mess is quite simple. It just needs to be simply stated by the Church - a group of cardinals - that Bergoglio is not now, nor ever was, a valid pope. And he’s gone and everything he has said and done is vacated and this problem is over.

I watched one of Robert's latest podcasts. I think it is titled 'the ring and the power'. It is quite long but it is worth forwarding to near the end. He explains where he is coming from. He was in the Legionnaires where all had to sign up to total obedience to the founder. Any hint of criticism and you were shown the door. Many senior clerics definitely knew what was going on with Maciel but never acted and were tied by a vow of silence that allowed this man to destroy lives. This same spirit is now operating in the hierarchy with detrimental results. Yes we need to pray and sacrifice but the bishops need to open their mouths. God bless Bishop Strickland. While everyone buries their heads in the sand souls are being led astray. I agree with Brian PF will be found to have been invalidly elected in the future. He has now taken off the mask and still gets away with it.

Did you know Michael is a fairly recent convert from Eastern Orthodoxy ? I think he doesn't really understand the place of the Pope in the Magisterium, he tends to see a Pope as the voice of God.

This is not a Catholic understanding. There are many limits to what a Pope can do

These are such very difficult times. Very, very difficult. We should show compassion and understanding to those who disagree with us. I ad.it I am often confused at the moment. What to think? What to do? I am sure wven the angels are scratching their heads. None of us have a monopoly on the truth.
But no compassion or going along with heresy or heretics of course.

It seems to be such a time for prayers and the rosary.

I looked at a young priest saying Mass yesterday and wondered to myself if he was really a Catholic.

    So sad

Yes we must be always show respect to others with different views. We are all struggling but we need to call a spade a spade with a spirit of charity. Truth is vital and the truth is that we have apostates leading the church.

I so much agree with you Brian. But feel unable to give a true description of my yearning for authentic Catholic truth.
I looked for Our Lords words on this matter. Matthew 23 seems to sum it up.

Blessed be Jesus Christ who comes in the name of the Lord. Amen

In the below text of St Matthew I have inserted in brown print, how Matthew 23 may be interpreted today, 2024.

    Matthew 23
1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law, the Vatican and the pope sit in the seat of Peter. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you which is in accordance with truth. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up cumbersome burdens such as Traditionis custodes and put them on the faithful and are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries[a] wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others

5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They wear purple and white to make their outward appearance acceptable. 6 they love the place of honor at the WEF banquets and take the most important seats in the Church; 7 they love to be greeted with respect and to be called holy via the internet.

8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

8 “But you are not to be called Teacher’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. Call yourselves servants of the the Most High God

13 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

13 “Woe to you, cardinals and bishops who were to be teachers of tradition and the magisterium, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, but nor do you want others to enter, who are trying to.

14 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You devour the houses of widows and, as a pretext, recite lengthy prayers. Because of this, you will receive a very severe condemnation."

14 "Woe to you, Vatican prelate's of 2024, you hypocrites. You devour the houses of widows and, as a pretext, recite inclusion, equity and climate change. Because of this, you will receive a very severe condemnation."

15 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.

15 “Woe to you, teachers of the law of my St Peter, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a homosexual convert, but when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

29 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30 And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!

33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35 And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36 Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.

This is brilliant. Any good priest out there would get something from this in considering how to carry on......When reading the comments on Lifesite under the article regarding removing the priest's faculties etc, it occurred to me that had they continued to obey the archbishop they would still be serving the people. A good thing in itself. They absolutely must have known what would happen when they decided to go public. They must have known those Catholics who attended Mass there would no longer be able to do so. In the end, they let their no be no. And they accepted the ramifications for that choice......At some point, each and every priest is going to have to make that decision for himself.......Depending on where they are and the circumstances they are in ~ wise as serpents but gentle as doves.

Not sure if I'm explaining this well, but Josephite's posts kind of reminded me of dominoes falling ~ some priests will go underground sooner than others depending on their circumstances......and some will just fall away.......same for us laity.

We are definitely in a new phase of madness. My question regarding Robert was based on his firm stance on not admitting any criticism of the Pope. He did not engage in any negative criticism at all. Then a complete 360. This can happen. However, nquestions need asked. He backed to the hilt like Mark mallets all that has transpired this past decade. Not that he agreed with it all but just in terms of defending the Pope as Pope. Now he is agreeing that the "pope" in fact is not the pope...
Like Padraig I have to say I have basically not paid any attention to a thing from Rome for effectivelybthe entire current pontificate. I am well aware of what is going on but for me it is best not to dwell on any of it beyond what will be practical for me to know. God will sort this in his own way which will most likely astound us all.
