This does not seem authentic to me, and deciding it's now time to throw off obedience is three strikes in one. This time we're in now is a time people will look back upon in the future as the moment when the devil made his most clever case against obedience. Many good souls are being deceived.
I believe you are right. I was thinking about his comment of no Shepherd and wondered if they feel Pope Francis is not Pope. I can’t go that far yet….. I look at the history of the papacies and see much scandal in the past.
This was a huge issue/controversy at the time. But then a very short time later, one of the Bishops "resigned" for the "good of the church". https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/...signs-at-age-of-64-for-the-good-of-the-church According to Mr. Ayral, Father is still in the Diocese of Amos, and is in good standing. It's all just very strange. I don't put all my eggs in one basket, and obedience is so very important. But I won't throw the baby out with the bath water anymore either....... Prayer, prudence & caution are my own "watch words" now.....
There’s a whole backstory to this. Yes, Fr Rodrigue can still say Mass. A huge part of this issue for me was the way Fr R teamed up with John Leary to make speaking engagements in the US, together. Fr R’s bishop was unaware of this. And John Leary’s messages were ruled by the Church as “not of supernatural origin.” I can’t place my eggs in that basket.
Fair enough. The whole thing with John Leary made me very leary as well. But I was already interested, for reasons I won't get into here, in what Father was saying prior to being aware of that association.....so while I'm still interested, it's in a very very detached frame of mind.
I have a feeling that one day we'll be surprised at the authentic visions which we think are true are not and vice versa. As long as we don't hang our hats on humanity's understanding and continue relying and trusting in Jesus, we'll be fine. I look at prophecy for encouragement and hope in these perilous times we live in. But acknowledge some may end up being totally bunk. It doesn't deter my faith. God bless!
I've been thinking a lot lately about Abraham & Isaac. Abraham trusted God so much when he took Isaac up the mountain....and Isaac went with him, without any fuss. Pure, blind trust & mind boggling obedience; one in God, and one in his own father. Abraham knew without a doubt that it was God asking this sacrifice of him so he fully trusted in God's plan. The Surrender Novena always brings this story to mind....God took care of Abraham & Isaac. Jesus will take care of us, if we but let Him do so.....
I love, 'Litesite News' and I love John-Henry Western. May God bless their good work. But from what I have seen of them in the past they know just about as much about Discernment of Mystical Phenomena as my dog does about Neurosurgery. Maybe less.
And this is why I love this forum!! I feel like Peregrine Took's idiot sister sometimes, but that's ok!!
This Divine Mercy group is in the same archdiocese as the retreat centre (family run) that was shut down by the Archbishop for having a TLM on site. It's hard not to wonder if the Archbishop is more concerned with TLM activity than with messages being published or not. Could it be possible they did ask, and received no answer one way or another? Would/could one take that as a "do whatever, we've bigger fish to fry"? It's a shame that these questions weren't asked..... or some kind of clarification provided....
Obedience for Catholics is first, second and last. There's no way through it, under it , over it or round it. The, 'Visionary', who is disobedient is false by definition. Like a tractor hitting a rock mountain at high speed or Joe Biden trying to get down the steps of an airplane. There's nothing left but a cloud of black smoke. Philippians 2:7-8 ..) but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Yes. I personally know some wonderful devout pro life Catholics but they follow Maureen Sweeney and her " messages" even though the bishop had forbidden it and condemned it. Their justification is that he is a bad bishop. Fr Ripperger has said repeatedly that has no bearing on the case for obedience. The bishop had a charism from God to discern these things by virtue of his office. To follow condemned apparitions/messages is to open a portal to the enemy. As Fr Ripperger says if you go out of your lane you can get into real trouble.
You know ,when you get down to it a lot of Discernment in these matters comes down to common sense. It's like a strange knocking your door and asking to come in. Naturally you'd want to ask a few questions first. Sadly some people invite the stranger in with no questions asked.
I think also if Our Lady appeared wearing a MAGA hat and said Donald Trump was her favourite son a lot of people would say it was true because they're hearing things that they like to hear. But the fact that the messages please us and agree with us does not mean they are true. I think this is the mistake that the folks at Life Site News are making. Now suppose the exact same people were saying that Our Lady had appeared and told them that Pope Francis was the best Pope who ever lived. Would they have bought into it? I don't think so. Its about more than messages that please us; or that we agree with.
Say something like this happened in a place like Chicago, and was given approval by the authority and promoted everywhere. Maybe I'm being silly, but these are things I wonder & sometimes worry about....Obedience is so very important, and we are to pray, hope and not worry. Maybe sometimes it's just best to let sleeping dogs lie, and move on...... Words to live by....
