Frankly, I hope he doesn't have to suffer anything similar to what Cardinal George Pell has gone through in recent years.

I wonder who they'll go for next? I am sure they have a long list to get through.

The attacks linked above on Bishop Strickland don’t faze me. These sources are the ‘ usual suspects’ so it would be a surprise if they didn’t put the boot into the good bishop. Praise from these modernist shills would be more concerning.

As to whether the pope is the Pope, I’m afraid I’ve gone so long ignoring this pontificate that it’s immaterial to me. The current incumbent is regarded by serious Catholics as a very bad pope whose actions and statements cause concern and even dread and that’s about all I can say. We really are just layfolk and our opinions are only private judgments. We only have influence with heaven.

Excellent analysis. Fr. Murray claims that the manner of Bishop Strickland's removal conflicts with points of canon law. Does the good bishop realize this? If so, is he hoping that rather he making a ruckus alone, other bishops will come and speak in his defense? It does not appear so, but...

Wow! I see a pattern here that is possible for any one of us, including myself, to follow. What is that? Selectively quote a person for purposes of character assassination. I guess anyone of us could be accused of such selective manipulation.

Was it not so during the covid-19 crisis? I guess this means I should pray and fast more and speak less!

Lord have Mercy on Your Church, Your People, Your Prelates! Words and actions can be so easily twisted!

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Right. We pretty much all see this pope as harmful and doing bad things. I honestly just don't understand why it makes some kind of important difference whether we individually, without any authority, claim he's not the pope. What does that do for us spiritually? It seems as if Padraig is saying if we don't proclaim him not pope, we're some kind of obstinate children with our souls in danger. I don't get that.

So long as you think someone who is not the Pope is the Pope you will continue to be deeply confused and scandalised by his wicked actions and words. When you accept he is not the Pope the scales will fall from your eyes and you will understand you are dealing with anvery wicked imposter. End of confusion. Far less scandal

I don't think I asked anyone to write to the New York Times or make some other kind of public stand.

It reminds me of what Our Lady of Akita said that Bishop would fight against Bishop. But on the brighter side I don't see many Bishops lining up to put the boot in. On the other hand I don;t see many Bishops lining up in support either.

I suppose Cardinal Burke is too big a target to go for?

Hmm, I don't think that ends confusion at all. How does one then explain that God has allowed His Church to have no pope for a considerable length of time? Who then is our head?

The reason why God has allowed evil to apparently triumph for a period in our times is that as in the Old Testament that the people themselves have been unfaithful.

I believe we do not have a Pope.

I just asked Blessed Mother to give me an answer to the Pope issue in the Blue Book
I prayerfully opened to pp 198-199

Hand over to me everything that you have no control over.

Some of the good Bishops may be thinking that if they stay quiet then maybe they will be left in place to protect their flock, if they speak up the flock will be thrown to the wolves.
