LEG MIRACULOUSLY CURED ! AUGUST 22,1962 We have some brief notes from Father Valentin that complement those of Luis Navas and Maximina Gonzalez, helping us to better recreate in our minds the atmosphere at Garabandal during the early part of August, 1962: August 22. "The four fell into ecstasy; first Loli and Conchita; afterwards, Jacinta; and finally, Mari Cruz. The latter, on coming down from the Pines, went to the house of Daniela (who was in bed, with her leg in bad condition making it impossible for her to walk). And she gave her the crucifix to kiss. Daniela jumped from the bed and said she was cured. I think there might have been some suggestion, but she jumped up and went up the stairs as if there were nothing wrong with her. We will see what happens tomorrow. "Father Valentin did not hide his disbelief that this was really a miraculous cure. However Father de la Riva added to the words of the Garabandal pastor some of his own: "I was at the village, and I heard the joyful shouts of the people who had seen what had happened, and were discussing it as if it were a miracle. I was able to see later that there was no natural explanation for what happened. Daniela went to have an x-ray taken and a complete cure was reported. She is now married and has children, which wouldn't have been possible with the disease she had in her hip." “She went in haste to the Mountain” This story has special meaning to me personally , as it was a miraculous cure to my own legs as a boy, from Joey Lomangino’s, “Kissed Medal” of Garabandal, and Padre Pio, that lead me to eventually come to work with him at the NY Garabandal Center. Sometimes we don’t understand or appreciate how a physical handicap can actually be a blessing from God, until later on.
Testimony of Joachim Bouflet, PhD August 23, 1968, he accidently meets Padre Pio. "On the afternoon of the 23rd of August, I went to the small church of Nossa Senhora das Graças. we passed through a side door of a cloister. A short distance away, in the shade under the arches, Padre Pio sat in an armchair. He looked tired. I was filled with emotion being so close to him. I was so close to Padre Pio! An opportunity like this would never come again. I crossed the cloister garden and fell at his feet. He was surprised. At the same time, two Capuchins ran out, shouting unintelligible words. Padre Pio made a sign to them with his gloved hand and they were silent, but stayed close by. Then he looked at me seriously, but I'm sure there was understanding and affection and it was reflected in his eyes. He placed his hand on my head (I was kneeling in front of Padre Pio) and he said a few words to me. The two monks withdrew to some distance. I heard Padre Pio, who kept his hand on my head. I understood perfectly what he said to me. I confessed my sins and he answered me, commenting on what I had said and then I was given an overwhelming experience of the charism attributed to him, and his knowledge of the heart. I felt a deep peace and a deep anguish. I don't know how long all this lasted. Finally, he said to me: "Pray to Our Lady. Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmo". "Yes, Father, I pray to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. In fact, I would like to become a Carmelite." He did not comment on this, but insistently repeated: "Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel, who appeared in Garabandal" . - " So it's true?", I said. - "Right and true!" ("Yes, it's true!"), said Padre Pio.
August 24, 1970. LETTER SIGNED BY CONCHITA TO THE FRENCH YOUNG PEOPLE WHO VISITED THE PEOPLE OF GARABANDAL. Dear young French people: From you the Virgin desires help to turn the world and avoid God's wrath upon us sinners. She trusts you so that with your example and selflessness you will be models for the other young people who have not had the thanks that you have to hear the messages of the Virgin. She asks you so much spirit of penance, sacrifice and prayer. Without these weapons nothing we can do. It's not much time we have, but it's enough to avoid great punishment and content our Mother's Holy Heart. It is in the Holy Sacrament that you will find enough strength to embark on this life that the Virgin is constantly asking you to go to the Blessed, to empty your heart of worldly things that will not let you hear God. If you do this you will start living life happy, because only happiness you have never felt will be found in the surrender to God and the Virgin. Pray for one another, for yourselves, ask the Virgin. Order it with faith and trust. She will give you everything good for you. And now for me and my friends I ask you to pray to God and the Virgin to be humble and sacrificial and all together to think more about Jesu s' Passion, to forget about ourselves. UNTANGLED ROSARIES Another interesting miraculous phenomenon was the returning of rosaries. Now that people started to believe the Blessed Mother was actually appearing at Garabandal, they came in the hundreds, and thousands,they would bring their rosaries and medals to be kissed by her. They were all piled on a table for the girls to offer up to her. Entangled when presented by the girls to be venerated by the Blessed Mother, rosaries, medals, and multitude of objects would incredibly untangle smoothly when being returned to their owners. Even without any pre-established order. The Garabandal visionaries also never errored in returning each object to its proper owner, and never actually had to look for the owner, Mary led them to the owner while gazing upward at her. POPE TO SEE THE MIRACLE ? In my capacity here to give you the truest “facts”, it is also my duty to correct the incorrect ones on the internet. Here’s another I rectified today. The Blessed Mother NEVER specified which pope will see the Miracle. My personal source was Conchita, and my documented source the “ Garabandal Journal”. Interview with Conchita was conducted by Father Francis Benac (S.J.) in June of 1978. Reprinted in the " Garabandal Journal" , May-June 2004 ( Remember Fr. Benac and Conchita are referring to the current pope at that time, 1978. ) Fr. Benac: Regarding the Pope, I understand that Our Lady said he would see the Miracle from wherever he was. Is that correct? Did she refer to the present Pope? Conchita: No. When I said that, Pope John XXIII was reigning. She did not say which Pope, just simply "the Pope."
What I love about children, and especially Conchita; she follows the example of Our Lady: to the point and without fanfare. One day may I be able to follow her good example!
Glenn The reign of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI marked the end of the times in which he lived. Pope Francis reigns in the new era, the present times. Is there any confirmation from reliable witness of him being the pope who will still reign when The Warning and/or The Great Miracle come to pass?
In the February 1977 interview with Conchita, she suggests that the warning will be a sign of the proximity of the end times; perhaps that is why many think that it will be during the pontificate of Pope Francis, based on the prophecy about the number of popes that would come after Pope John XXIII until the beginning of the end times, although I think it will be during the next pontificate that the great miracle will occur, as I wrote recently in the topic "October Convergence", clearly as a personal opinion.
February, 1977 Q. When did you learn about the Warning and from whom? A. The only thing that I remember well is that it was the Virgin who told me of it. Q. Would you repeat for us what you know about the Warning? A. What I remember now is that the Virgin told me that before the Miracle God will be sending us a Warning so as to purify us or prepare us to see the Miracle and in this way we may draw enough grace to change our lives toward God. She told me what the Warning will consist of but not the date. I am not able to say what it consists of but I am able to say what it will be like, more or less. It is a phenomenon which will be seen and felt in all the world and everywhere; I have always given as an example that of two stars that collide. This phenomenon will not cause physical damage, but it will horrify us because at that very moment we will see our souls and the harm we have done. It will be as though we were in agony but we will not die by its effects but perhaps we will die of fright or shock to see ourselves. May the Virgin forgive me if I do not explain it the way it is, but I am trying to tell you ... after knowing what the Warning will be like that day. Q. Did you 'see 'or 'hear 'about the Warning? A. The Virgin told me of its coming. Q. If the Warning only lasts a short time, will the world remember it as coming from God or will it only appear to have been a dream or an illusion? A. I have never said that the Warning will be a short moment. What I have said is that even if it were a moment it will be very impressive and terrible. No one will have doubts of it being from God, and of its not being human. I, who know what it is, am very much afraid of that day. Q. Many years ago you told us the event of the Warning begins with the letter "A. " Since Our Lady never told you not to reveal it, can you now mention it? A. She did not forbid it, but I don't know why I haven't said it and I don't feel as though I should say it now. Q. You once said to Fr. Marcelino Andreu, (When you see the Warning you will know we have opened up the end of time. " Can you explain what you meant by this? A. The Virgin told us that the Warning and Miracle will be the last warnings or public spectaculars that God will give us. This is why I believe that after them we will be near the end of time. Q. Do you have any words of advice for the people in order that they might prepare for this event? A. We must always be prepared for our souls in peace and not tie ourselves down so much to this world. Thank you Luan but the end of times and the end times are two different things. The end of times refers to a period of time - the end of an era. Pope Francis said we live not in an era of change but a change of era. The era has changed and The Warning will happen in this new era. The end times refer to the end of the world. This is not referenced by The Warning. As scripture tells us, no one except God knows that time. But thank you for sharing your thoughts. As you can see from above I asked Glenn if there was any source which indicated Pope Francis would be the pope of the The Warning and Miracle. From his response it would seem not.

I was explaining why many people believe that the miracle will happen during the current pontificate, based on the prophecy about the number of popes that would come after John xxiii, whose end of counting is a sign of the imminence of the end times. Our Lord promised us that he would be with us until the end of time (which seems to indicate the consummation of all things and the defeat of the antichrist); however, as Garanbadal's eschatology does not mention the antichrist but seems to point to the triumph of the immaculate heart (the conversion of Russia and the world), I believe that the terminology Conchita used refers to the time of the dramatic events that will lead to the communist tribulation: the warning, the miracle, and perhaps the great chastisement.
The period between the warning and the miracle is only 3 weeks or 3 months; if it is 3 months, a lot can happen in this intermediate period, including the election of a pope in the midst of a storm, but that's just a personal opinion.
Thank you Luan for your personal opinions but perhaps the facts as provided by Glenn better serve the purpose of the revelations made in the conversations between Our Lady and the seers. For me, they keep things clear and simple. Glenn has pulled me up several times for veering off the road of fact towards the path of opinion. Mea culpa. In this matter the critical understanding is that end times means the end of the world and the end of times means the end of an era. The events of Garabandal do not reference the end of the world. Some people will survive even the conditional chastisement. I will leave it at that.
Luan, the term is the "Conditional Chastisement", not the "great "Chastisement, there's nothing great about it. The Great Miracle is the correct term.
Today in Garabandal history: AUGUST 28 & 29, 1961 THE "SYMBOLIC" BAPTISM OF MURIEL CATHERINE Muriel Catherine, a nineteen-year old woman from Paris, of a Jewish father and a Protestant mother, was practicing no religion when she met Ascension de Luis from Burgos. The latter taught her a few rudimentary notions of the Catholic faith. The two friends went up to Garabandal on Monday, August 28, Feast of St. Augustine, the most famous convert in the Church history, except St. Paul. At about 12:30 a.m., on August 29, they attended an ecstasy of Mari-Loli and Jacinta, who spoke about Muriel to their Vision. The visionaries then exclaimed: "She is not baptized!. . . Come, let's help her . . . Ah, because of her parents! . . ." Loli suddenly stretched out her arm, and grasped a bottle of holy water that a priest had given her to throw towards the apparition as a "test." The girl opened the bottle and threw the contents upwards, in front of her. But instead of following its normal course, the water mysteriously bent its path, and in its inexplicable trajectory, fell as a little shower on Muriel. Muriel already had faith. But to be baptized, she had to wait until she came of age, the parents being opposed to her initiative. She was baptized in the cathedral of Burgos, at twenty-one years of age, on October 20, 1963, under the name of Maria del Carmen Catherine. She can be considered as a figure of the Synagogue called to be "baptized," or of the Church arising from the Synagogue. Muriel represents the first of three cases of a typical "conversion" linked directly to Garabandal. Hello Glenn, I used this term "Great Chastisement" because the website garanbadal.org/ transcribed a message from Mari Loli where she uses this term to describe the communist tribulation but also the supernatural heat wave that would be a conditional punishment; but, in any case, the term conditional chastisement is, in a sense, a way of underlining a call to conversion as Jonah did with Niniveh.

Mari-Loli describes these visions as follows: Although we continued to see the Blessed Virgin we saw a great multitude of people who suffered greatly and screamed in anguish. The Virgin explained to us how this GREAT PUNISHMENT would come, because there would come a moment a time in which the Church would seem to perish, as if it were finished or disappearing. The Church would suffer a great trial! We asked the Virgin how this GREAT PUNISHMENT would be called and She said it was called COMMUNISM. Also, she made us see how the GREAT CHASTISEMENT for all humanity would come and how it comes directly from God. IN A CERTAIN MOMENT NOT A SINGLE MOTOR OR MACHINE WILL FUNCTION. A terrible heat wave will come, and men will suffer a burning thirst. Desperately they will look for water but with the intense heat it will evaporate. With this there will enter into the people a desperation and they will attempt to kill each other, but in those moments their strength will fail and they will fall to the ground. God then will make them see that IT IS HE who directly has permitted all this. FINALLY WE SAW A MULTITUDE OF PEOPLE ENVELOPED IN FLAMES – DESPARATELY THEY THREW THEMSELVES INTO THE SEAS AND LAKES BUT UPON ENTERING THE WATER FAR FROM PUTTING OUT THE FLAMES THE WATER WAS BOILING AND SEEMED TO HELP THE FLAMES BURN MORE...
