Why the collapse is imminent

Discussion in 'The Spirit of the USA' started by Mario, Jan 14, 2023.

  1. Honestly,
People on this forum have been worried about an "impending" economic collapse for over a decade...

And even longer than that as expressed by some of the same members on the forum that preceded this one.

All the fear paralyzes people. I know from my own experience. And we know who it is that is behind all the fear, don't we?

I can only point to Our Lord's words...

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own

I have to be careful. Just listening to him makes me angry!

Lord, touch his heart with your truth and love. Put him in a situation where his ears will be opened and the seed of faith blossoms forth!

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Thanks non sum dignus! You are one more confirmation that Our Lady wants us to focus on this passage from Matthew. See the link above and begin at post #16:cool::)!

  4. God reminds us both. I hadn't seen that thread. That passage was a penance for one of my confessions, given to me by a very holy, persecuted Bishop. I keep the slip of paper he wrote the Chapter and verse on in my Bible....I believe him to be a saint and this is my own personal relic if you will.

Thank you. I've only been here a few years and had wondered if this has been an ongoing belief/fear of imminent collapse... I suppose it may come at some point, but I do believe that God will be right there taking care of us in the ways we each need.

This move onto land has been a dream of mine for years...ever since I started having children. I suppose it's in my blood, as every single one of my grandparents dreamed of living out on land and raising animals or growing crops. Only one of them achieved it a bit earlier than the others--my favorite grandpa in Mississippi, who built himself a log cabin on family land in his 40's after retiring from the military. The rest of my grandparents moved out to land in their 60's and 70's. One grandma completely roughed it with no electricity in a shack my Gramps built for her, and my other grandparents raised deer and pigs for a while before having to move back to the suburbs due to terminal cancer.

My husband and I are in our mid 30's and want to be truly established out in the country. I want the simple farm life to be what my children grow up in and hopefully want to stay in/return to when they're adults (although a couple of my children already show some interestingly strong signs of attraction to the religious life/priesthood). We're buying 10 acres even though it took a lot of financial sacrifices because we want enough land to be able to pass on to whichever children want to stay. I'm not running away from the world and scary things; I'm building a future--one of simple, hard work, star-filled nights, fresh air and water, more quiet with God. There isn't just doom and gloom out there...there's great hope. There are signs of beauty and grace growing in young families, young priests, the new coming in and building a future bit by bit that will challenge in its humble way the arrogant plans of those who think they have all the power in this world.

Goliath was defeated by a shepherd boy. Maybe one of my little farm kids will make a big ripple in the world one day. God doesn't need much to work with, because He's already big enough for whatever He wants to achieve.

I’m adding: great post, so heartfelt.
I remember reading Chicken Little as a child many years ago: “the sky is falling”
It hasn’t fallen yet. Spare us, O Lord.

I think, given the way most people screw up their faces when I try to warn them about all of this, that these elites will get their way.
The way I see it, its a race against time.
The elites need to get their digital currency in, plus their digital ID's - BEFORE the people cop-on to the fact that the economy will collapse and that they've been conned.

I think, and it's only my opinion, that God will permit them their moment of control: they will be granted their tyranny. Perhaps as punishment for our collective rejection of Himself....
Then, when we have paid our dues, He will put a stop to it and separate the wheat from the chaff.

Honestly, I don't think there can be any doubt that something (punishment) is coming.
As Father Ripperger said, 'if God doesn't react to the crimes of this generation, them Sodom and Gomorrah should be up in arms!'

My Spiritual Director told me when I was young, that if I wanted to know what was going on in the World I should shut off the media for six months and go away and just think about and work out things for myself. I can see nowadays the great sense in this.

I suspect this is why country people have more sense about all this. They are not rushing about like city folk all the time with so many distractions.

Not just one punishment. We are about to get hit with everything but the kitchen sink.

I really hope I'm wrong. But if you look into it - their tentacles are everywhere!
They have the schools and universities. The media. The money. They have our political leaders in their pockets. They control the borders. The legal system. (Most of) the internet. They control the doctors and the medical systems - as well as the pharmaceutical companies. They control big oil and energy. They have the military. They tax us. They can cancel us (as they showed with Trump, a sitting American president at the time; doing that to him was a statement). They may even have the Vatican. And God knows what else.....
As God's protective hand is rejected; the above are the consequences.

I wish I could disagree but I can't. They do hold all the levers of power but they reckon without God. The question is how far God will allow them to go. Praying the Rosary with greater fervor than ever these days.

  19. You are very wise to move out there. I worked for a delivery company for decades; city, suburbs and country. Without question the country folk had their heads on straight when compared. I think working the land and relying on God for weather etc. grounds a person.

An economic collapse would be hard but would wake many people up to thier dependance on God.

My son was learning about the Israelites in the desert today...and we read about how God provided manna every morning and forbade the Israelites to take any more than what they needed that day. No hoarding, no stocking up, because God wanted them to fully trust in His Providence. I love that! I love that God cares so much about having us lean on Him so He can take care of us. Such a loving Father.
