I read something from St Robert Bellarmine this morning which I thought was so insightful. This reminds me of something God said to St Catherine of Sienna in the, 'Dialogues'. She asked Him why He seemed to allow some evil people to prosper. In reply God said it was because He intended to place them deeper and deeper in Hell when they died. That it was a Sign of His Justice , not His Mercy.
