I'll say a prayer to St Joseph and also the Holy Souls. They are great alllies to have on your slide. Pray for all the souls of those who have been associated with the land and lived in the neighbourhood. As Pádraig said you are setting out on a great adventure.
Yes indeed! One of the many reasons I've been drawn to East TX! We're moving about an hour and a half east from where we've lived our whole marriage and most of our lives--right in the center of the DFW metroplex. We are so excited to finally leave this crowded, polluted place behind. The only thing is, we LOVE our FSSP Latin Mass parish in Irving, TX and will be driving the hour and 5 min or so it'll take to attend Mass as often as we still can. It'll get tougher when the baby is born, unless God blesses me with a baby that enjoys car rides. Not one of my babies has so far.
The ladybug in this pic is fitting... One of the first things I noticed about our land is that it is filled with ladybugs! I had one ride around with me on my clothes while I was exploring, lol.

The land we're moving onto is the last lot to be sold out of a bigger tract of land that was divided into 5 8-10 acre lots. The other lots were sold over the last few months. Each one is in varying stages of development, with no one actually living on their lot yet. While we were out looking at our (hopeful) lot, a couple our age with a 5-year-old boy stopped by in their truck to talk with us. They were the first to buy a lot and told us a bit about the comraderie that is growing between all the new neighbors. After encouraging us to buy the lot, the guy offered to help us with anything we need--even to use his tractor to mow until we get our own. It was so nice!
Congratulations Purple Flower. That's awesome. When I moved here to Wyoming 9 years ago, I wish I had had the foresight at the time to purchase some land, because and especially within the last 2-3 years, the price of land has gotten so overinflated as to be outside the reach of most people. I bought my house in 2016 and it has nearly doubled in value. I think this is artificial, time will tell.
Our house in DFW more than doubled in value over the last 10 years, which is the only reason we are able to buy 10 acres right now. I am grateful that God has made this possible for us, as this has been our dream for years now!
My 4 year old daughter has been sick for a while and I could really use prayers that she gets better...We're supposed to go out and meet with contractors and the builder multiple times starting tomorrow and next week...And I'm always so sad and worried when my kid can't seem to shake an illness already, so the stress is building.
