It's the reverse of what happened to Jesus. It reminds me of when Jesus first affirmed the Prophesy of Isaiah by reading it in Nazareth and His own people tried to kill him. We know from Catholic Prophecy that the anti Christ will be born in the Holy Land of a Jewish parentage. He may not be the anti Christ but may be one of his 12 disciples, a forerunner. The anti Christ was said to born of a Jewish Prostitute...why did his grandmother raise him? Where was his mother? Where was his father? Most unusual, especially in Orthodox Jewsish circles. Hi Padraig. My two cents for what it's worth. I know what I say may sound strange, but here is how I interpret those phrases: 1. "the Antichrist will be born in the Holy Land of Jewish parentage": I read "the Antipope" [Antichrist] will be "baptized" [born] in "Roman Catholic Church" [the Holy Land] by Italian [Jewish] parentage. The "new Jerusalem" is Rome. So the "new Judea" is Italy. In the real Holy Land, people who were called "Jewish" were from Judea. So a person born in Italy, the "new Judea" would be symbolically "Jewish." Bergoglio was born in Argentina, but his parents were both Italian, which is symbolically "Jewish" if Italy is the "new Judea" and Rome is "the new Jerusalem." 2. "the Antichrist will be born of a Jewish prostitute": I read "the Antipope" [Antichrist] will be "elevated to the anti-Papacy" [born] by the "harlot of Babylon" [a Jewish prostitute], see Apocalypse 17, which I interpret to describe "the harlot" as the Counterfeit Catholic Church (not to be confused with the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Immaculate Bride of Christ). In the past, I entertained a literal interpretation of those phrases, but then I realized that different prophecies say the similar thing using different symbols. Some say that the Antichrist will be born of the "tribe of Dan" or "in Egypt." I now believe all of these phrases are metaphorical riddles that allude to different Biblical prophecies. That is why I don't take the symbols literally anymore.
I must look up the bio on the Rebbe. He seems to have lived in Seville in Spain with his grandparents as a child. Where and who were his real parents? What happened? How did he end up in Israel as a young guy? So interesting. What about these five , 'Miracles', what happened there? A lot of questions; no answers. I must have a look and see. It is hard so much of the sources are in Hebrew. The story starts in Spain , in Seville. Beautiful Seville....so let's see what we can find.
