Is the 'rescue' then the warning? But if it is that will come from Jesus, not Mary. Or will it be an event like the miracle of the sun at Fatima where the whole world views it? It is all pure speculation at this point because their is no specificity in Charlie's scenario. Maybe it is a first normal Christmas after the past two un-normal ones?? As I said before, Charlie should take 6 months or more in silence and prayer and discern his alleged messages and his failed ones. I hope he does.
Conchita had a different role. She was a witness to Our Lady's apparition. Charlie's is for helping prepare people for the chastisements. St Peter was arrogant also and was chastised by Our Lord. Who are we to pick apart every piece of this man? It's over and done. Let it go people. Pray for him. My goodness.
It is not my intention to pick him apart, but to offer advise, which I have done. I know he reads this site and hope he takes what he reads to prayer. On the flip side, others should stop looking to Charlie as a reliable messenger. There are others out there that deserve our attention and that fit well within the Catholic prophetic consensus.
Sorry, but my intention was to say maybe he was initially right, just got the interpretation wrong. In a way, Trump does not come from the political system. All the other major candidates held office before, Trump didn't. Exactly how Charlie interpreted "not coming from the political system" and "destruction of the status quo" was obviously wrong.
When was Peter arrogant? He was impetuous and fearful the night of Jesus's arrest, which did lead him to sin, but I don't see arrogance. Paul was arrogant until his conversion. it doesn't matter that Conchita's role is different, she had a message and she delivered it simply, exactly as it came, with none of her own opinion on how it would play out. When Joey died you did not see her writing long arguments on how she was really right and we are all unable to see it, like Charlie did, say after 2014 was not the last normal Christmas.
I'm not well read on Charlie but the one thing about all of this I find a possibility. As his prediction did not come to pass is it possible that because of prayer certain things did not happen. Our Lady has told us plenty of times pray pray pray whether it be for a less harsh chastisement or for something to be averted. Anyway it's just a thought I'm not well up on Charlie, I myself prefer to go with my gut and my gut doesn't take me in his direction. Have a good evening all.
"If someone can give some specificity to this term, please do so..." I'll try. The expectation was that after the initial "collapse" of society -- economic crash, widespread atrocities, ISIS, then China at the climax, with eventually about 26 million people killed worldwide in the name of the tribulations -- the troubles would appear to have no end, no solution, so that people would get to the point of losing all hope, even the strongest of Christians. It was expected that these tribulations would be long-suffered, therefore a build-up of complete hopelessness. A Rescue necessary. Charlie thought that visible collapse would have occurred a year or two ago, so that we'd surely be in the thick of it by now. Contrary to what some people have been saying, it's not that he thought there was a prophesied "date", or that something would occur at the election or inauguration -- he just thought it had been given to him that there wouldn't be an inauguration of another elected President (at all, ever), and that "the collapse" and social mayhem would have occurred beforehand. He thought the U.S. would be led by a Regent through the Storm. "The Rescue" would bring all of the troubles and despair to a conclusion, whereby humanity would be graced with a new chance to start over. The Rescue would be brought about by the Blessed Mother in such an obvious way that everyone on earth would know it was by her, and therefore, would be the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart. Following the Rescue, people -- in Charlie's scenario -- would go back to work, life would go on for all those who were still alive (and most people would be); they'd be able to travel around to visit each other, and civilization would be kinder and helpful, knowing God's Truths, and the social scene was described as being more like the old tv show Mayberry RFD. The afterlife following Charlie's Rescue looks very different from what we've heard from most prophets. All other prophets, actually. Most, including Medjugorje, hint that most people will die, and most prophecy -- of Catholic, other Christian, or New Age varieties -- describes the earth being left very different, including with great geophysical alterations -- earth and human life would be unrecognizable to what we know today. Charlie's scene was better. I just report.
Charlies scene was much much more comforting. A quick turn off and a quick turn on again. Rather like a few years power cut. But what is most comforting is not necessarily the most true. Catholic Prophecy is much, much, much more stark. The Mother of God is not appearing all over the world on a day trip. This will be no picnic. I do not expect so see the other side of all this myself. But am peaceful and resigned nevertheless.
Anyone who thinks things will be easy should consider current events in the Church and the words of Mary from places like Akita.
The world is very, very, very, very far from God. The Church herself has set out on a journey in the same direction.
I think people of prayer are watching and begging Our Lady to rescue us soon. It's very difficult looking at my grandchildren and wondering how they are going to be saved when they have to endure a constant barrage of filth and godless education system. In relation to myself I don't worry so much but I greatly fear for the younger generations. Jesus I Trust in You.
Don't forget that Jesus has already defeated Satan by his sacrifice on the cross. And, st Paul encourages us that where there is sin, Grace abounds and where there is SUPER sin, even greater supernatural Grace abounds. (feast Day of St Paul's grace-filled conversion tomorrow). We've won eternally. We just have to keep winning temporally, if that makes sense.
I took some heart in the message that CJ espoused. In part because I am disabled and struggle daily with pain and suffering it helped me to focus on the positive impact I still might have on those around me even though it seems like little. His message also seemed timely with the political and societal climate over the last 8 years. He also repeatedly discouraged people from turning inward out of fear. He encouraged people to trust in God. I thought a lot about what CJ was saying in this regard and this was not Charlies message at all but God's message repeatedly told to us in the scriptures. The leadership of the Church has a process for discerning messages. I take heart in that and I believe that it is for the best exactly because of things such as this. I never saw the leadership of the Church publicly endorse what Charlie was saying with regard to the election, or the coming rescue. I put little stock in it but I will admit that I certainly didn't think that it was outside the realm of possibilities. The Church is slow and methodical in their approach to these things and it seems to me that it is for a very good reason.
Charlie Johnston is better described as a Pundit, there's nothing prophetic about him. Given his background & knowledge in politics & geo-politics, he could of easily guessed the future outcomes of politics, elections, China, & North Korea. Knowledge of the world is a true prophet's worst enemy, as it reduces the credibility of the knowledge coming from God. Charlie carefully doesn't take a side when unsure about something, but will be sure to side with popular opinion when he sees the wind changing direction like we've seen, with elections, Trump, covid & it's vaccine. He likes the conventional idea that God didn't create life on earth in a literal 6 days, preferring to believe everything is millions of years older. Charlie doesn't correct and backs up his supporters like Beckita, allowing them to proudly say & do as they please. Beckita often barks up the wrong tree accusing prople she doesn't like as negative & wrong, she never apologizes for her prideful assumptions of others, and has made many mountains out of mole hills. A true prophet insists on humilty, which is absent here. Charlie says he was trained to be a prophet, so he can independetly act here on Earth without any further instruction from Heaven. This makes absolutely no sense, as a prophet is supposed to be a direct line to Heaven always being periodically updated. All Charlie has is a slogan "The Next Right Step" & "acknowledge God in everything", these are very vague and leave lots of room to blame the followers who complain or pannic as being weak in faith & trust in God or they deserved what's happening to them. So if you're looking for a true prophet, it's better to look somewhere else.
I don't know this Charlie; nor do I necessarily want to. After bumping into this thread ... I very quickly came to the same opinion as you're espousing above. It's GOD who chooses Phophets - such as Isaiah, etc, to do His work. Their situations and behaviors and messages are clearcut - and widespread.. yet as w/Jesus himself, not necessarily believed - even w/Miracles as Evidences. It was in the last decade of the 20th century that many so-called "prophets" popped up from many places including onTV - and many fooled many people. The "why?" and "how?" false 'prophets" seemingly and easily accomplish taking in certain "gullible? followers", are questions whose answers can be discussed. They... are akin to false teachers/theologians - wh0 in some do easily lead ostensible Christians astray.. right of the straight and narrow. for various reasons - often doing it for money.. ... .. . That said, I'm not saying that God's Holy Spirit has never actually directly connected with some folks.
Bibical Prophets for the most part were saints, this didn't mean they didn't make the occasional mistake, but behaved in a humble manner. In over the past 100 years the closest thing to a true Prophet have been saints like Padre Pio and Our Lady appearing in places like Akita & Fatima. The regular joe making predictions just doesn't cut it.
Amen! .. Even Saints / Doctors and more - believed in and taught in some cases theologies which later on were deemed by the Church in one manner or another - to be not so. TODAY? .. Debates and Discussions are easily sidelined by a Legion of claims of some known or relatively unknown w/o Church Authority -> -> To have either heard from God OR heard what another said to them... This is what causes some common debates to go on for years. Not my cuppa! POINT? ... Things said by any which are not in some manner known via Scriptures/Magisterium? ... Can never be used as Solid Truth during debates/discussions - MORAL: .. FAR MORE important than seeking dates - is? .. Being internally prepared to meet our Lord Jesus - TODAY +
This thread reminded me that every Catholic by virtue of their baptism become priests, prophets and kings. So, we are all given the prophetic ministry! Now certainly the ministerial priesthood has a different role, but nonetheless, we as lay Catholics have a role to play. I think the CCC says it best about the lay prophetic role: “The laity act prophetically when they speak the truth, and live the Gospel by example before their families, neighbors, and co-workers. Their mission is “accomplished in the ordinary circumstances of the world” (CCC, 905). So, maybe some will be tapped for a greater prophetic role- I will leave that up to God and Church to discern. But, in the meantime, I pray that God gives me the grace I need to be a prophet in my family, in my circle of friends and co-workers and in my little community. We are all evangelizes- as we leave every Mass… we are told to go and spread the Good News. I think we mostly do that in action and perhaps occasionally with words. Peace
