If Birch's "Age of Peace" is to be interpreted as a temporal kingdom with a human king bringing peace to "the whole earth" (as we know it), it is a form of temporal theocratic millenarianism. Theocratic "millenarianism" is condemned along with the "secular messianistic" form warned about in CCC 676. However, if that "Era of Peace" is interpreted as a non-temporal, supernatural, non-historical kingdom of the Elect under Christ the King AFTER the Second Coming "in the clouds," then it is completely orthodox and in agreement with the Church's interpretation of the Apocalypse. FWIW, I would label the main periods as follows, based on Jesus's description of events in Matthew 24: 1. The Beginning of the Sorrows (Matthew 24:4-8) 2. The Tribulation (Matthew 24:9-14) WE ARE HERE, IMHO 3. The Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:15-28) 4. Second Coming "in the clouds"/Warning/Miracle (Matthew 24:29-30) 5. He remarked that the grave problems of Christ’s Church, in our present age, are beyond any human efforts to solve, and that not even a truly good and holy pope could pull it out of the dark path it was on. He said only by the literal direct intervention of God in this age could the barque of Peter be righted. And that this Divine Intervention would ONLY come about through the freely accepted sacrifices of the holy innocents of our time.
