I hear that the priests and Bishops in my own Diocese are very friendly to the priests of the Old Rite. This is wonderful as it will make the Holy Father's persecution programme much more difficult. But in places were the Bishops and priests are ill disposed I fear a blood bath. The Pope had unleashed his dogs of war on the Old Rite priests and people. He has cried, 'Go Get them!' to his snarling pack attack dogs and they will.
Hmm. I just had a thought. We have always heard in many locutions for centuries that one day the mass will have to go underground. What if the mass they were referring to was the TLM? What if the NO mass gets altered so much and still around but is not the mass anymore? I don't want to sound like a sedavacanist, but is something that just popped in my head. If this were to be the case, so many lukewarm, cafeteria Catholics, would never notice the differences and the loss of the mass.
Since so many Catholics no longer believe in the Real Presence or anything much else that the Church has taught for the last two thousand years I am not sure it would make the least blind bit of difference to them anyway. A False Church that assists them with comforting words of encouragement as they rush down the Moral Hill to Hell suits them very well indeed. The very last thing they need is True Pastors raising Warning Signs. People get the Pastors they deserve just as they get the Leaders they deserve. They believe in anything that is convenient for them to believe; anything incovenient gets dumped.
We are definitely the church of nice. One thing to be said about the Sanhedrin, they definitely didn't seem to ever be the church of the nice!
Yes it was the same with the First Protestant Reformers, people like Luther, they did not appear to have been nice people either; far from it. But present day niceness goes only so deep. Scratch away a thin layer of niceness and a ravening pack of wolves will jump out at you. I read about a new young priest who took over a Parish in Australia. He was Traditionalist in outlook, for instance he wore a soutane and preferred the Old Rite. He suffered horrible abuse from his Parishioners and was forced to leave. One of them actually spat in the poor guys face. The niceness only carries on if you keep with the plot.
And would explain a reason why we are consistently being warned by our Blessed Mother in recent messages to follow the True Magisterium. The synod on synodality currently undertaken by them may result in just these changes you speak of, I think you're onto something here
I don't doubt the synod on synodality will allow some kind of inculturation in the liturgy; if that occurs, we may have a scenario similar to this one below:
Yikes. That is horrifying. Sadly we got a glimpse of life without the Eucharist in 2020. That was awful.
I pray for all those who were able to attend the TLM and traditional rite sacraments that are being deprived. While I too love the TLM and traditional rite due to distance and time constraints I have not always been able to attend, and my heart is breaking thinking I may never attend another again. I cannot imagine the sorrow of having once always been able to attend and being deprived! The prayers from the mass is just full of consolations!! I LOVE THE TRaditional rite!
I'm sorry to hear this. Has anyone heard from Bishop Schneider, Cardinal Burke, or Cardinal Sarah about this dubia?
I am so sorry to hear this Brian. I suspect that these awful people are trying to provoke a Schism by trying to force good people into disobedience. There is something truly Diabolical in all this. I see they have just inserted a new addition to Canon Law right out of the blue. Anyone publically criticising either the Pope of their Bishop can be punished. They have not yet written in what the punishment will be but I suspect excommunication will be up there. Unbelievable; so much for the Pope of Mercy: https://apriestlife.blogspot.com/2021/12/a-brand-new-canon-just-appeared-in-code.html Correction: Canon 1373 was revised as of December 8 Canon 1373 was revised. The revised version was posted on June 1, 2021 and took effect on December 8, 2021. Here are the two versions: Revised text: Can. 1373 A person who publicly incites hatred or animosity against the Apostolic See or the Ordinary because of some act of ecclesiastical office or duty, or who provokes disobedience against them, is to be punished by interdict or other just penalties. Previous text: Can. 1373 A person who publicly incites among subjects animosities or hatred against the Apostolic See or an ordinary because of some act of power or ecclesiastical ministry or provokes subjects to disobey them is to be punished by an interdict or other just penalties. The phrase “among subjects” was taken out with the result that the canon is broadened to also cover those who are not in authority. A reader suggests that the change may be crafted to take into account the public platforms available to bloggers and via social media which enable any individual with normal access to easily reach large numbers of people.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interdict In Catholic canon law, an interdict (/ˈɪntərdɪkt/) is an ecclesiastical censure, or ban that prohibits persons, certain active Church individuals or groups from participating in certain rites, or that the rites and services of the church are banished from having validity in certain territories for a limited or extended time.[1]
Amazing When secular authorities are exceeding their powers in restricting numbers at church services & even outright bans on occasion the 'shepherd' of the flock is also banning and restricting access to the ancient rite. Not a coincidence in my opinion.
The oldest daughter of my friend here where I live is expecting their second child any day now. They were going to have a traditional old rite baptism at our local diocesan parish. This nonsense from the local bishop has forced them to seek out the local SSPX chapel instead. This is going to be repeated all across the diocese, our country and our world. And I cannot fault anyone who goes this route. Don't sign for any letters from your local bishop, @padraig !
