I finally managed to get to Confession after a horrible break of about six weeks a few days ago. What a huge joy and relief. I do my best to get once a week but with Night Shift patterns it is a hard ask.
Such a huge, huge joy. I felt like dancing.

One wonderful effect of Confession I have noticed is its effect on the reception Eucharist. It empowers the Sacrament giving it much, much bigger graces. It reminded me of my First Holy Communion.

There is a stained glass window in a nearby Church of St Therese of Liseaux receiving her first Holy Communion. If we could only welcome the Eucharistic Lord as children do at their First COmmunions we would be saints in no time.

Here St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the Little Flower, tells of the experience of her First Holy Communion which took place on 8th May 1884.

At last the most wonderful day of my life arrived, and I can remember every tiny detail of those heavenly hours: my joyous waking up at dawn, the tender, reverent kisses of the mistresses and older girls, the room where we dressed — filled with the white “snowflakes” in which one after another we were clothed — and above all, our entry into chapel and the singing of the morning hymn: “O Altar of God, Where the Angels are Hovering.”

I would not tell you everything, even if I could, for there are certain things which lose their fragrance in the open air, certain thoughts so intimate that they cannot be translated into earthly language without losing at once their deep and heavenly meaning. How lovely it was, that first kiss of Jesus in my heart — it was truly a kiss of love. I knew that I was loved and said, “I love You, and I give myself to You forever.”

yes she is a dark horse. A real nest of saints that family. I wonder how many families are like them and we will never know this side of heaven?

A good holy family amazes even the angels.

the moment of pain and illness is very favorable for man to revolt against God, I believe that the Eucharistic communion given to the sick and dying strengthens the resignation and faith of these people at this time.

I just decided to ask her for help with my granddaughter!
What a remarkable family the Martins were! A whole family of saints!

I believe she really helped my granddaughter. They are getting many letters at her convent giving testimony to her intercession and also requests for prayers for special needs children.
