Alert: Volcano eruption in La Palma could result in mega-tsunami

Right. We need to have our eyes on Heaven. But it’s no less a nightmare when the lava flows by your home.
Or the tsunami warning sounds. These are trying times for all, to one degree or another.
We had a measly earthquake in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area in 2011. I happened to be in the hardware store and all of the metals clashed against one another. There was shaking and clanging from stuff hanging on the ceiling. I must say I actually experienced some anger before I ran out. Then I understood it was a quake. I was the executor of my brother’s estate at that time and went to see what had happened at his house. Shelves down. Stuff on the floor. Really a mild quake.
I actually think it was a 6 or 7.

I remember that… folks in the World Trade Center building felt it too. They though it was another attack…everyone ran out of their building.

 

Scary! Wasn't the Washington Monument damaged in that quake?

I am reminded of that rich man who built large barns to store his goods, thinking he had many years of ease, and then the Lord took him that night. That's the gist of all of this.

Every time I read or hear that scripture it gives me some comfort that I can try to prepare for world events, but not having that security…and I don’t have it….is not on me. Whatever God allows for each of us cannot be mitigated by our efforts with the exception of prayer. In the end, it’s still Gods permissive will .


I do need to edit this to share a little bit of Divine Providence…..
In a effort to head off the possibility of shortages, I realized that my hot water tank was aging out even though it was working just fine. I was concerned that if it conked out this year and there was no new tanks available because of the current shortages, I’d better just replace it now.
So I made arrangements two days ago to purchase and have a new tank installed for today.
When the installer stoped by yesterday to check out the old tank, he looked at me and said, “ look, your tank is leaking…there is a hole in this.” He added, “ you’re lucky Beth, you caught this just in time.” I said no, it was Divine Providence…not me.
So I see this as a sign, it’s all in Gods control. There is no way I guessed to replace it, just a little prompting of the Holy Spirit.

BTW… if you have any appliance, car part, etc that you think might be affected from shortages, you might want to buy or replace those items now….just to error on the side of caution.
Apparently the shortages are man made for a variety of reasons, but regardless, they still exist.

This is how I approach all of these apparitions and visionaries. I do keep an open mind and believe in sone. Others, I don’t. But ultimately, I think their messages about future are somewhat similar and not different from what Bible and CCC teaches. This world is passing away. We don’t know when. But for me, the my “personal” passing away is more likely to happen before anything of these larger world wide events. And even if I’m wrong on that, there has been enough “warning” in my life to be prepared now. Why wait! I’m a sinner… I need to avail myself of the sacraments often. I need to pray and fast now and more often. I’m trying now and I have to rely on His grace. I want to be as ready as I can - and then trust in His Mercy and Love

 

Amen to every work here Miker….although we are living in hard times, it’s a grace that we are preparing our souls to meet God…no matter when it occurs. Sometime it takes a disaster for some to come to Jesus, but what a risky way to live.

I knew a guy who was on his third marriage and was a successful lawyer…( not ethical), While on vacation, his third wife heard a big thump coming from the bathroom. It was this guy …he had a major heart attack and died instantly…not a chance to repent and change his life….too late. He was only in his 50’s….

We never know when that moment will come. This lawyer at that moment was standing before a very different judge…the same one we will be accountable to.

 

Thank goodness you had that tank replaced, Beth. Truly Divine Providence! I think we are all in a 'preparation ' state of mind. I just said to my husband yesterday, we better make an appointment with the plumber to inspect the furnace. I can't seem to shake the feeling that we are headed into troubled waters this winter.

 

Jo, my son actually replaced my furnace and air conditioning unit two months ago. I had those replaced for the same reason. My son had to order the new units and he wasn’t able to have them installed for a month out. While waiting for them to be delivered, the AC unit quit! Same thing! So, if it’s a necessity such as heating, don’t wait. I’m even getting a couple of furnace filters ….we don’t know what shortages are coming….? It might get bad…might not….?
I also bought spare parts for replacing the guts to the toilets…..necessities of life
