Mary McAleese is the radical left and represents extreme disorientation in the church, she is worst than Francis.

She seems possessed of an enormous self-regard. Wasn't she telling the bishops what to do forty years ago?

I believe she is and has been an enemy of the church for a long, long time. Despite her pretence to the contrary. A silver-tongued devil.

Poor Ireland, 10 people at mass in my local chapel yesterday morning. Very few evening masses to be found.

Saying that, if you go to any chapel in my hometown of Derry - at any time of day, you will find men...
Our bishop noticed it. And I heard him say recently how he was struck (he's not originally from the city) by the large numbers of quiet, unassuming Derrymen that like to go to chapels during the day and quietly pray. I hadn't noticed it, till he said it. But he's right. We do.

Unfortunately, we are in the minority. Nobody I know goes to mass anymore, with any regularity.

I think Ireland is due a chastisement for its apostasy, yes. For embracing worldly ills too, absolutely.
But more for its contempt for Jesus and all things holy. People actually seem to hate him, to mock him.
I often question this viewpoint to myself. Why do they 'just not believe' - and leave it at that? But no, that's not enough. Many seem to have a desire to mock and hurt Jesus and his church as much as they can. It's disturbing.

I have wondered why Ireland hasn’t been given the same assurances as Portugal. Our Lady told the little shepherds that the faith would always be present in their country. As I’ve seen the.decline in faith in Catholic Ireland my heart has felt such sorrow. Ireland! Where faithful Catholics were persecuted so horribly but kept the faith. Which sent so many priests and religious to England because we couldn’t produce enough of our own.

We in England owe so much to those good Irish souls who nurtured our faith. Ireland is suffering a terrible spiritual scourge and it is heartbreaking. I hope that Portugal isn’t the only land to retain the faith. Ireland deserves this promise too. The Portuguese never had to suffer for their faith as the Irish have.

Let’s pray for a great outpouring of grace on Ireland which has been faithful for so long.

Its diabolical in a way. Why the need to mock and wound Jesus if you don't believe? Why not just walk away? But they can't. They have to "get back at Him"---but for what? It has all the earmarks of fallen angels.
The fact that Derrymen pray quietly in the chapels tells me there is a strong root growing new leaves quietly. In The Way of Divine Love Our Lord told Sister Josepha "I work in the dark. Yet I am the Light." I love that statement. It sustains me quite honestly.

Heartbreaking for Ireland….it was the faith of the Irish that filled the Catholic Church in the USA. It’s so hard to believe but it won’t die. Have hope because the truly faithful will never let it die completely…you will be the ones to reignite it with your faithfulness!

I'm mostly Irish by blood from A Boston suburb and have lived in an overlapping city. The Irish Americans let the school systems and catholic education systems teach there kids garbage. My parents generation didn't even know the true presence of the Eucharist. The Catholic education books were watered down. It's sad but most allowed it to happen. There were a lot of the older generation who were strong in their faith but we're they teaching their kids the faith. From my experience I'm not sure if they all were. If it wasn't for a Catholic Mystic Jack Marie Smith and a miracle I wouldn't have come to the faith. God rest his soul.

I spent plenty of my time in catholic schools trying to keep them catholic….it was terribly watered down and it shows! God help them for the faith that was lost at their hands.

It's been a double-whammy. Simultaneous with the ramping up of the demonic propaganda machine via television, cheap records, uncensored cinema, increasingly liberal newspapers and now social media, has been the near-complete abandonment by the Church of its proclamation of the Truth.

One small consolation is that the internet does provide a mode of communication of the Faith among those who are like-minded, but it's questionable how many new people are being converted or reverted by it. Are we just preaching to the choir, as reassuring as it is?

Everything you said is true. It’s shocking how fast things have have changed…how the faith and culture have have been seemingly lost…but we know that the gates of hell will not prevail….no matter how bad it looks. The internet does help us encouraging each other….I know that I’m grateful for it….while it’s still legally allowed God willing. Christians had better not take anything for granted.

Its like carpenter ants eating away at the inner structure of a house but remaining undetected until years later the porch falls off or the roof starts to cave in. In the Church and in our governments this is precisely what has been going on. For years. It just seems sudden to us now because the porch is falling off and the roof is caving in. The whole structure is coming down. But God will rebuild/resurrect His Church. And maybe our governments will reform as something else. What that wi be is anybody guess.
