BTW…your post sounds like something Fr. Rippinger would advise! Hummmmmm……sure you aren’t himself? Lol
In a word, yes. If it is your name on the title, or your name on the lease, you have authority over that place and can bless it. Note that if you're sharing a flat and only your roommate's name is on the lease, you don't have authority there, even if the electric bill is in your name. I'm pretty sure if your name is on your office door or your cubicle and you don't share it, you can bless that area.
I think that God might be more liberal with territory. I think it might encompass a neighborhood, really. God plants us in our territory, and as we are His children, He allows us privileges within that territory. I’m just speaking from another perspective. On the other side of that coin, I have a hard time believing that God would allow all of these recriminations from demons over His children who are promoting blessing. Think about the Jericho walk. Also, if we are in a state of grace, we are protected. Fr Ripperger, in his book Deliverance Prayers for the Laity, includes a prayer against retaliation from demons. I respect your input, Muzhik, but I am disagreeing here. Still, we are getting our priest to bless our house and yard and entrance and egress, which includes the alley if he will do it.
I have been wanting my place blessed and my priest is more than willing - it just seems like an opening in our time slots don’t seem to coincide. We have a tentative schedule for in December. I really hope I can hang in there till then!
If one has permission from a local priest to bless an area of the diocese or pray for its deliverance or whatever, that may block the demon retaliation. I was saying my auxilium christianorum daily prayers on vacation one time. There was a demonic manifestation there. It stated something like I'm not leaving here! Scared me half to death. I wasn't trying to exorcise that cabin mind you. Just saying my prayers. I think since I have permission from my husband and my priest, there have been no other issues with things like that.
Thanks for sharing. I think some people in my parish, with knowledge of the priest, are signing up for a Jericho walk in the community.
Yes, JoM, in my drives home from Syracuse I regularly witness the drivers pushing 80 mph who love to weave in and out of traffic. Motorcyclists do the same. Last week, there was a pile-up in fair weather in the northbound lane. I counted 7 ambulances as I drove by. Senseless recklessness! Motor vehicle accidents are a prime part of the trauma cases in the ER. Lord have Mercy!
I would recommend you read a thread I started called Slaying Dragons which references a book by that title. It helps point out what authority we have to confront JoeJerk and also the limits of our authority based on our station in life. We need to approach spiritual warfare wisely.
I just came across this fire and brimstone protestant prophecy against NYC. As a life long born and raised New Yorker, I take offense when some "prophet," always living in some other state, has these dire warnings and so called revelations regarding my home. Of course, there have been legitimate ones (i.e. Maria Esperanza and Ned Dougherty regarding 9/11) but the majority of these doomsday prophets need to look in their own backyard and they'll see that NYC is not the root of our nation or the worlds problems. If they do this, I'm pretty sure their revelations and dreams will be very different.
The auxillium Christianorum prayers are so powerful it may be they stirred something up--but if you are under permission of your husband and priest you should be well covered. That cabin may have had something brought in by others who had stayed there. Sometimes its a good idea to sprinkle holy water and say binding prayers when you first enter a vacation rental. Especially these days.
There are many devout souls in NYC. "Where sin abounds there does grace much more abound." The same is true of New Orleans and Los Angeles and many other big cities. I stay away from protestant prophecy. Its the wild west. There is no discerning authority.
That is what led me to this forum. I started researching prophecies for our time. I ran into sooo much "noise". Tons of charlotines...so I narrowed it to catholic prophesy. While there are lots of charlotines among us as well, it does greatly narrow the field!
Not to be a jerk here and I'm certainly not big on protestant prophecy but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the east facing entrance to NYC has one of the largest masonic shrines in the existence of the world as well as being an epicenter for its halls. It isn't even remotely coy about it. Most US cities have them of course but NYC is second only to DC IMO in the scope of it's belligerence toward God in this respect.
Evil laws, behaviors and godlessness reign in our country with Baphomet diplayed in front of the Arkansas capital, the satanic temple displaying holiday decorations in Illinois et al yet the theme with the doomsday prophets I run across is that NYC is the one damned for destruction. There is only the Truth and God is Judge.
