how many intentions for one rosary?

there are so many things and people we need to pray for. The list is so much longer than we humanly have time to pray. So, do people here have a long list of intentions for praying one rosary? Do you think it is more powerful for an intention if it is the only one for that rosary? I try to keep it to 1 intention, but then it seems I can't get to everything I want to pray for. I end up doing a single Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be for the other intentions. But then I think maybe I am thinking too much from a human perspective by limiting a rosary to a single intention. What do people here do?

THe more we ask the more we get. Faith and confidence are always rewarded; look at Father Abraham. :)

We set limits to God, He sets no limits to Himself. It takes a big heart to make big prayers.

    1 John 5:14-15

    New International Version (NIV)
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

    PotatoSack,

I have often wondered the same thing. I love this board because so many people ask us to pray for specific intentions and people, but I never have the time to say individual prayers. So the best I do is one prayer each day to Saint Anthony for everyone. I mention those who I remember from reading the Prayer requests thread individually, but ask him to hurry to help everyone. Then I ask all the Angels of Heaven to scatter over the globe to each person to help them individually too. Although asking the Angels might not be considered a proper Prayer as such.

Placing everyone in the care of St. Anthony happened, I think, because the Blessed Virgin loves him so much. So I ask him to go directly to her with all the people who need help.

I only seem to have time to say the Rosary at the weekends, but St. Anthony gets a decade or more to take with him.

I don't know if this answers the topic question but I sometimes mention a specific intention at the beginning of each mystery; or I ask for the intercession of a different saint at the beginning of each mystery

I pile all of my intentions into my daily offering. And I have also done the Total consecration to The Blessed Virgin- so She can divvy the graces from my Rosary and various prayers.

We can never ask too much of God with one rosary or prayer. I used to worry about that too, but I think the key thing to remember is the merit of our prayers is based on love, not length. So for instance, one rosary isn't worth a certain amount; your love while praying that rosary is. If your love is great for all these people for whom you wish to pray, and your love for Mary and Jesus is great in the words that you pray, God will greatly outdo you in generosity and you can't ask for too much. Of course, we never have as much love as we wish, so we can unite our love to that of Jesus and obtain the merits of His pure and infinite love. This is where being consecrated to Jesus through Mary comes in... Mary will make sure all that you offer is purified and united to Jesus so the merits will be endless.

Regardless, don't overthink things. It's not your effort that's worth anything. It's your love united to Christ. So with love, simply say, "I offer this rosary for all of those for whom I wish to pray, and all of those Christ wishes me to pray for." That will cover everyone. :)

Thank you so much for this. It is something I've often wondered if adding and adding was overdoing it. This gives me comfort.
