I've noticed a glut of recent messages involving solar flares. When the subject comes up, it makes me instantly skeptical of the authenticity. The idea of a solar flare coinciding with The Warning comes from a piece of fiction. Later on someone presented it as a message of God and the rest of the alleged seers pile on.
The thing that strikes me is, Mary was with the Apostles when Holy Spirit descended upon them. She would have been the thirteenth person on that occasion if the Apostles had already chosen the one to replace poor Judas who had committed suicide. When the Apostles had gone to Jerusalem as Jesus had asked them to do and wait there; Mary would have gone with them to support them in praying and trusting in God as to how they were to go on after Jesus ascended into Heaven. It seems to me Mary has been doing the same with all of us as we wait for the New Pentecost. I enjoyed a wake up call on Pentecost Sunday 2017. That year I had by the grace of God managed to bring a Fatima Statue of Blessed Mother to as many Churches in my area as possible for the Thirteenth of the months from May to October. At the Holy Mass that day the Gospel was about the descent of Holy Spirit. Well during the early part of the Mass one of the Altar boys passed out, he did not come around and an ambulance was called. The medics brought him round to consciousness and took him away. As you can imagine the poor Priest continued with Holy Mass and because of all the distraction he forgot to mention the Fatima Statue was in the parish for a week in recognition of the 100 year anniversary of Fatima. After Mass he came to me and apologised for having forgotten to mention Our Lady of Fatima. I had noticed the Gospel read that day did not mention Our Lady was present at the original Pentecost; I said Father not to worry, the Apostle forgot to mention her presence too in the Gospel today. But she was there we know from other accounts. This memory has stayed with me to this day. Blessed Mother is there, even if we forget to acknowledge her. How humble is our Blessed Mother. There were a few coincidences on that year reflecting the apparitions at Fatima. One was in July the Priest at that particular parish had got his diary mixed up. He was away on the date the Fatima statue was brought to his parish. He loves Our Lady, and I had to make a second trip when he got back. That was the month when the original apparitions had to be cancelled because the children were in prison. But when the Priest was back, the parish made the biggest fuss of our Lady of Fatima, and the Priest said Holy Rosary on his knees in front of the statue. I have photos and will try and get help to upload them so you can see Julia is not making it up.
I read an interesting couple of posts last night that suggest that the Sign at Medugorje will be a great stream that will suddenly run from Mount Podbro.
Don't know about that, but had read somewhere that there will be signs left in three places, Medjugorje for one, Garabandal for two and could it be Fatima for the third, I can't remember the third place. So would there be great streams suddenly springing up in three places. I though the permanent sign would be a pillar of smoke by day and a pillar of light by night. Mind you when you think about it that would be an big ask from Heaven if it is to be permanent. The great stream idea sounds interesting. It reminds me of Lourdes.
The old man in Medjugorje who predicted that 'the Gospa will come to Medjugorje' and that there would be so many people on the hill they wouldn't be able to sleep at night, also predicted that people would be able to tie their boats at Medjugorje
There was a prophesy given in Rome at a Charismatic Conference several years before the apparitions at which Ralph Martin attended speaking of , 'Water between the Hills'.
The ones from Zeitun were so exquisitely perfect. There’s just no question. But I also find very convincing the one included here where it looks like Our Lady is a silhouette of light inside a dark church.
I've also found it interesting the shape of St. James church in Medjugorje. It's like two mountains with the Eucharist between. A pouring out of grace into the world from between two pillars. It can't be coincidental, the two holy mountains Apparition Hill and Cross Hill. I could definitely see the sign being a torrent of water springing forth between them. Those who have been there, have you visited the castle built to house priests? It's between the two mountains, down in the valley back a ways from all the main movement in Medjugorje. It was built by a man who was wealthy and converted, I believe, and felt called to build it. He was adding more and more to it last I visited. Something that stood out to me but I didn't ask about, was a great portion of it is built up in the air... Rooms atop towers that are connected by above ground walkways. I can imagine right now water flowing through the castle with priests safely lodged above. Priests, the hands through which so much grace flows to the world.
Do you know Matè Sego and his link with Medjugorje? He was a farmer, born in 1901, in the village of Bijakovici, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, near Medjugorje. Maté Sego had never had the opportunity to go to school and lived very humbly: he cultivated his land; he did not own a house with water and electricity; he slept on the ground near his field. The life of this gentle and respected man, known to everyone in the village, is, today, forever linked to the apparitions of Our Lady, in that place. Long before the seers began to talk to the Queen of Peace, Matè Sego had begun to describe unexpected events unthinkable for the inhabitants of those hamlets. He, who lived right where, now, the Marian apparitions take place, said, in fact: “One day, there will be a large staircase behind my house, with as many steps as there are days of the year. Medjugorje will be very important, people will come here from all corners of the world “. He also said that in that place a much larger church would have arisen and so would other buildings; so many people would have come to their village. It was well understood that Matè Sego announced that something very special would have marked the life of his people. But Matè Sego was not understood by those who listened to him, even though he spoke of his death, which would have happened just when these events would have begun; although he spoke of the need to pray a lot; although he described the source and a port that would attract so many devoted people. In 1978, the church that stood in that place was demolished. Matè Sego died that very day. When the apparitions of the Virgin Mary began, in the presence of the six children / seers, the words of Maté Sego began to make sense and everything was understood. Matè Sego, therefore, can be considered the first to have announced that Medjugorje would become a holy place.
You know Julia, I was just thinking about you post here. The Sign at Medugorje, we are told is to astonish and amaze people and will be of such an order that scientists will not be able to explain it. People are to come from all over the World to study it and find no answer. Well a stream coming from the ground might not really do that. For after all Artesian wells, for instance, are discovered quite commonly. At Lourdes a stem sprung up and it did not cost the skeptics to even blink. What might happen is that several signs might occur including the stream, but that the stream is not the biggie. I am still inclined to go with the Biblical precedent, light pillar in the form of the Cross. Luke 21:25-33 25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. 29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
It is very arid and rocky. The people lived a very hard life there years ago under the Communists. I was touched as to how many priests and religious had been mass murdered in the Region. So many Bishops, priests and lay people having been murdered by the Socialists. Why would they treat us any differently?
I think a lot of the images on utube of Zeitun have been deleted you know. I used to watch them years ago and they have all done a vanishing act. There are still many of course. But the very best ones are gone.
From accounts of life in the village before the apparitions, the people there seem to have lived a superb, simple Catholic life. It reminds me of Ireland back in say the 1920'a or 1930's
