My tooth is falling out at the moment and being a great nuisance. So I am offering that up for you too Heidi. I was thinking it was was such a small thing I didn't think it would do much good. But I was praying to Jesus about this and He says not a leaf falls to the ground but He notices so at least that is something. I was listening to several talks from Archbishop Fulton Sheen during the week and he was telling a story which might cheer you up. It concerned a lady whose husband was a total atheist and very, very anti Catholic. Anyway she offered up her life for him and after she died he became a Dominican priest after a miraculous conversion. It is probably about the best talk on Our Lady I ever heard. I must have watched this umpteen times. 'Mary the woman that I love'.
I don't recall but I think the husband's name was Fr Carrell. I think his conversion was quite famous in France and was in the newspapers. He met Pope Pius the xii who heard his story. He used to be a Doctor. He was converted in Lourdes. His wife on her deathbed told him he would be a priest. The story is towards the end of the video.
JoM. You did have classic side effects from anxiety! Gut issues and swallowing are common with anxiety. Glad you are better now. Life can be horribly stressful.
I went through this last year too, Heidi. It was disabling at the height of it, I remember lying on the sofa like a ball of worry and fear, but I slowly became immune to it. It will pass, just stick through it and don't give up
May Heaven’s calm reside in your heart! May Our all-loving Father—Our Creator Who wired us just so—wrap His arms of loving comfort around you, so that your soul may find rest in Him! Amen.
Thank you, everyone! I am wondering if I should look into having deliverance prayers. I am not sure where to look or who to ask.
Heidi, After the morning offering I pray deliverance prayers. I believe we all need this protection. Putting on the amour of God is another help and the sacrament of confession is of course the greatest deliverance prayer. I will pray for you. Do not fear. Just add a simple prayer for protection. The Holy Spirit will lead you to which prayers to pray. Below are three of the prayers I pray, Eternal Father I ask you to bind and expel today all evil spirits and fallen angels who wish to harm myself, my husband, my children, my grandchildren, our land house and animals, to the seat of Peter, in the name of My Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth and I ask you Dearest Father to command all these evil spirits and fallen angels be conducted by Saint Michael the Archangel to the bottomless pit to be bound and gagged by St Raphael the Archangel and locked in with the Keys of David in the name of your only begotten son, my lord and my God, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen. Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in our day of battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all other evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen." August Queen of Heavens, heavenly Sovereign of the angels. Thou who from the beginning, received from God, the power and mission to crush the head of Satan, humbly beseech thee to send thy holy Legions, so that, under thy command and through thy power, they may pursue the demons everywhere , combat them, suppress their boldness and drive them back into the abyss. Amen Who is like unto God? Mary thou shalt always be our Queen, our Mother and our Hope. Holy Angels and Archangels defend us, guard us and protect us. Amen.
I also agree the sacrament of confession is the best bet if this is a spiritual attack. You could confess your anxiety (even though you can't help feeling it, anxiety and worry are against the first commandment) and at this point I'm pretty sure the Priest will pray over you regarding this. Also over the years I've come to realize myself the HUGE graces we receive during this sacrament against demonic attacks. I would go once a week until you feel better. Demons are SO afraid of this sacrament, they will try to make you feel anxious about even going!
I ordered Fr. Ripperger's book, Deliverance Prayers for Catholic Laity, online and for about $20 bucks. Safe for Laity to use as prayers. It's a small paperbound book and I keep it on the nighttable.
