Ya know I think this is not a forum for me so please delete me.. If a bunch of y'all think seeing something is ONLY demons then read the Bible.. Some do see lost Souls needing prayers....
That's blatantly false. What you were told is that spirits could be souls needing prayers or they could be manifestations of evil. You were advised to pray for them, not to attempt to communicate directly with them and to go to a priest if it persists. If you came to this forum looking for people who are into dabbling in the spirit world, you came to the wrong place.
I think lots of people shared the dangers of coming face to face with spirits of any kind. I shared one of my own encounters, and took no offense in the advice that came my way. In fact I have found some benefit from the replies that came. No one knows what kind of spirit you have encountered. I can say that dark shadowey figures do not bode well though, IMHO If you read the replies you will have found one about Maria Simma, a woman who had a lifetime of souls coming to her from Purgatory for help. There was also Saint Padre Pio, he had more souls visiting him from Purgatory every day than the living souls who attended his Holy Masses by the thousands. So don't think we know nothing about spirits on this forum. We are all learning. And I do believe anyone who can will be more than willing to help. Those replies were as good for you as they are for me. No one is being mean to you. Just trying to help and support you. God bless. Peace.
The problem arises when we don’t know the origin of the shadowy figures, which is most of the time. I, for one, do not wish to break the First Commandment by engaging with something not of God, thus opening myself up the the dangers of the occult. I’m not comfortable with shadowy figures, but you were given excellent advice from the hearts of members. The battle is not of flesh and blood. It’s spiritual. Also, the Catholic Church is hierarchical. Lay people turn to priests when faced with this sort of situation. It’s wise to get help and rely on the discernment of priests. You brought up this situation to us and we gave you some answers. We hope we helped.
absolutely.....don't leave so fast. We have disagreements here all the time. It's just the way of the world....take what you need and leave the rest.
User Deleted as requested I always highly respect such requests and act at once. But for future reference folks can easily delete themselves.. Just go to your profile and press the delete button. It should take all of five seconds. If you want to come back just rejoin. It's a revolving door. Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.
Just Delete Me or Please Delete Me would make a good song title. Keep the inspiration coming....I've added Only You Can Delete Me, I Can't Find The Delete Button and Delete Myself?
Prayers for all past and present forum members. May they never be erased from our thoughts and prayers. Be they dead or living.
I am sorry she is offended. I am one who came down forcefully on this because of lived experience.. "experience teaches a dear school but a fool will learn in no other." Says Ben Franklin. I am that fool who had to learn the hard way. The danger of responding to these manifestations on one's own cannot be overstated. It definitely requires a priest. I hope she will talk to one.
Proverbs 25:8-10 8 Don’t be too quick to tell a judge about something you saw. You will be embarrassed if someone else proves you wrong.
AED, don't be hard on yourself....you did it in Christian charity. WE always have discourse on our threads and when it is done in charity, it's just a discussion. Take it or leave it I dislike when it gets personal or demeaning....you did not do that.
Yes AED, don't be hard on yourself. You are so charitable when you post so it wasn't you. You were offering advice. Sometimes when you offer words to people that are opposite their current beliefs they get uncomfortable. I am guilty of that in my life . It didn't seem to me the advice offered was uncharitable. I will add the poster to my prayers today.
