Christy .. I guess I'm not going to be able to drop this topic and move on because I cant in good conscience let you characterize MM and his web sites like you have. Before I do that, however, I want to thank you for making us aware of the Vatican guide lines by which we as Catholics are supposed to discern private revelations! I dont think Ive ever seen it laid out so concisely.

I'm getting the feeling from the things you've said ,that you haven't been aware of MM and his writings for very long? So I'm going to assume that you don't know him very well ..other wise you couldn't say the things you have.

I have been reading his posts for years now and have a pretty good idea where hes coming from..I think I know him and his character pretty well .Well enough anyhow to know that he passes the "discernment "test of the Vatican with flying colors. He scores an A+on each one of those bench marks! If he is NOT the real deal as you suggest ..then I have indeed been fooled... as DJT would say ..."BIG time"!

His "Prophetic Consensus." is nowhere near what you suggest. His prophetic consensus consists of the writings of Popes, and the writings of approved Catholic Saints and a vast knowledge of the writings of the Doctors of the Church . And as far as I know this is what he builds his prognostications on.I will admit, however, that I think he does go out on a limb when he quotes from some of the seers "advertised"on CTTK . But from what I can tell anything that he uses from them in his presentations must line up with the aforementioned sound Catholic sources.

I do have "issues"with many of the new and up coming seers that Countdown has published... but thats another story.

To put it straight to the point... IMHO... I think you are just plain wrong in your assessment of CTTK.

AS I have previously said many times before... NO ONE..knows for SURE if the messages we get from ANY of the so called "prophets of our time" truly are from Heaven and Ill be the first one to say .."I could be wrong!"

And .. PS I don't want my postings to be "venomous",so if they come across that way,I apologize. Peace!

  3. I needed to first pray about my response here. I certainly hope Saint Padre Pio is assisting me in what I am about to say. I can be hopeful, anyway. Holy Mother of God, please keep me clear of all the deceits of the enemy!

It’s simple, really. My criticisms are aimed at the words and actions of others who have assumed their own breed of authority in order to proclaim what many good people are believing is the Truth of God given under Holy Mother Church. I would only be playing God if I were judging their interior motives and saying I absolutely, positively knew they were operating on bad ones. That would not be a good thing. As for what I have been saying through my comments on this thread, I am well within my rights to do as a member of MOG Forum. I use no other forms of social media to do so, so I have no following. But, CDTTK does. So, who are the ones with the platform? They are. Who has the greater responsibility before God in this assuming of the immense role of “prophetic consensus” admins? They do. So, agreeing with Christy on this point, I concur that the burden of proof lies at their doorstep.

    Thank you.~AN

Saints all around us; even in our own families but we fail to see them. This is not their fault but our own. True their humility keeps them cloaked. But mostly it is our own pride and worldliness that keeps them hidden.
The little ones never fail to and recognise them but the Great Ones stumble past them , blindly.

    Hi Ellen,

    Peace be with you, too!

    But, just for clarity:

I take nothing back about the way I have characterized Mark Mallett. I "say the things I have" with a clear conscience. If you want to point out particular posts I've made that you feel gravely and unfairly harm Mallett, please do. I'd be happy to discuss.

As for the A+ Vatican guidelines, Mark Mallett has been banned in three different Canadian dioceses. So questions about his 'prophetic' ministry are not limited to this forum.

I don't know how "vast" Mark Mallett's knowledge of the Doctors of the Church is. I do know he does not have formal theological training, or has not cited it. He is a musician/media personality. He has not been tested and tried in the way that a theologian with an STD would be in the course of professional education. The focus of much of Mark Mallett's writing is... Mark Mallett, his experiences, insights, and alleged locutions.

In his critiques of the two Canadian bishops who disavowed Fr. Rodrigue, Mark Mallett showed disrespect for their fulfilling their duties according to canon law. The appropriate laws are discussed in this article, posted earlier on MoG: https://kevinsymonds.com/2020/09/11/cttk-responds-rodrigue/

Also, the Vatican guidelines encompass more than just the first numbered item. They include things such as financial interest.
    They http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/c...cfaith_doc_19780225_norme-apparizioni_en.html

  8. This is the first time I have ever read those Vatican guidelines before. They are excellent. Thank you, Christy.

Wow!! I wasn't the least aware of these things Christy. Amazing. You are an excellent knowledge source. . It's so good to have you on the forum.

    Eye opening stuff.

MM answered the reasons he wasn't allowed in those 3 diocese over 5 years ago. Clearly you don't know him well as you stated.

He came to our church summer 2019. It was super powerful and emotional. I had the pleasure of eating with him beforehand. The Holy Spirit was so powerful in all he said and did. Brought many to tears. Very approachable and super friendly. Whether he got some official faith education or not is irrelevant to the the power of the spirit.

If credentials mean something to you please include your own and your critique will carry more merit. So far I haven't read anything that is more than an opinion.

Basically some people just don't like MM. Those critiquing think they know more but never prove anything other than they don't like him or how he runs his ministry.

  11. You have stressed tears and emotions as signs that he is gifted. I’m not doubting your experience with him and happy the time was good for you, but please don’t say this to legitimize those questionable things that may be challenging others less familiar with him to look deeper. Trying to stay objective and reasonable here.

For the record, I neither like nor dislike Mark. But I do dislike very much the methodology of his group. I won’t try to convince you personally as I see you have an allegiance of sorts to him—a friendship, and I care little about going further into that personal sphere.

Lastly, I know you weren’t responding directly to me, but it should be obvious by now that I see eye to eye with a lot that Christy posts. Speaking only for myself here, I can assure you that I operate under no superiority complex/desire, but call things as I see them. You have disagreed. But please do not turn your seer into a holy victim being beaten down by people like myself who are doing no such thing. That is dishonest and it sickens me.

Christy ,et al, I unfortunately overcame the whisperings of the Holy Spirit just as I was composing my first post on this thread who quietly said to me "Dont Go There" And ..I did so any how and just as I suspected I paid the price!

I have tried to carry out the "call to arms" to pray, pray, pray called for by priests like Fr Rick Hielman, Fr Mark Goring , Fr.James Altman and Fr. Don Calloway to name a few. I take very seriously the need for prayers of reparation for my sins, those of my family and even the whole world. Consequently a very large part of my day is taken up by Novenas, Rosaries, Chaplets and what ever else Fr. H asks us,his Grace Force, to take on.

I missed many of my daily prayers.... not only today but yesterday!! Just because I became ensnared in this "discussion/argument which I knew would eventually lead nowhere except down a "rabbit hole" ..which it did!

Well..It wont happen again ...so Im taking a break from this forum because ..as they say..I have bigger fish to fry
I dropped FB for the same reason..I wasted too many hours scrolling thru FB postings.

Lastly Ill say that just because some one does not have theological creds or quotes long formal documents from the Vatican doesn't give them the same credibility as that credibility of some of the most holy, humble uneducated saints that Heaven chose to be messengers to the entire world.

PS I don't consider Kevin Symonds an authority on anything but hatred for traditional Catholics. Its no wonder he has written so many negative things about Mark Mallet. Dont accept links purporting to be respected Catholic scholars. You may be deceived.

    Peace!!!

Hang in there MMM!! Ill put you on my list of prayer intentions. Try to ignore the pretentious static because your instincts are RIGHT ON!!!

  14. Hello. This is “et al”. Happy you are praying. Sorry your spirit is disturbed by what some think is a necessary discussion. I pray, also. I respect the majority of priests you mentioned, also. It’s obvious your view is not mine. I trust in the legitimate authority of the Church. I am no stranger to witnessing those humble souls to whom you’ve referred.

  15. Okay, Ellen. That was very ill-tempered of you calling names: “pretentious”. Just calm down, maybe go pray like you keep saying you need to do, and get some rest. You are not playing very nice. Good night.

We had some very interesting debates.

Some very spiritual ones too. We had a lot of very trained and spiritual people come through MOG.

    But people come and go.

Breaks are good...we all take them.

    Good morning, MMM,

    * We agree Mark Mallett has been banned in parts of Canada, yes? The archbishop of Edmonton was first to decide on the basis of Mallett's writings on his own private revelations. Two others followed suit. Mallett publicly criticized the decision by the bishops.

    * I never stated I "know him well" because I don't. I have read his writings.

    * Agree that "official faith education... is irrelevant to the power of the spirit." The Cure of Ars was a poor student but powerful in the faith.

    * Credentials. Mark Mallett has assumed the role of teacher of the faith. In his writings he sketches out what he says will happen in the near future as a result of his study and interior locutions. He goes so far as to construct a timeline of things to come, along with his Countdown colleagues. He also has assumed the role of judge of private revelations, using "prophetic consensus," a concept foreign to Catholic theology.

Is he qualified to do so? Ellen said he had "vast knowledge of the Doctors of the Church." Does she know that for a fact? Do you?

Has Mallett spent years in instruction gaining a broad-based/structured knowledge of the church, canon law, the writings of saints and mystics? Has he been guided and formed in the faith by others with acknowledged expertise? Has he had his work subject to formal review by peers? If he had gone through rigorous training, he would have learned how to respond to criticism and engage in scholarly back-and-forth. He would have learned to do basic research--such as checking to make sure a priest who makes dramatic, doom-filled claims actually has the backing of his bishop before broadcasting this priest's predictions to the world. No professional theologian would have made such a rookie mistake as he did with Fr. Rodrigue.

ETA: My credentials? I know how to look things up. I go to reputable sites (Vatican) to get information. I'm skeptical of "messengers," just as the Church tells us to be.

Yes Christy this is also my problem with MM. Proclaiming personal mystical experiences as prophecy, or self interpretation of scripture is not evangelization that is approved by the church. It is wonderful when a Catholic blogger spreads the Good News, but quite another when evangelization steps out of bounds, and is mixed with personal spiritual experiences. This causes great confusion, and places us in spiritual danger. We have no way of knowing if a seer's interior locutions, or visions are from God, this is for the bishops to discern. When members here on MOG express concerns about a particular seer they do so with very best of intentions, and have put time and effort into researching facts as you have done here. I have been enlightened on this forum on several occasions, and for that I am truly grateful.

  19. Christy, you must have a gift from God to get to the crux of this sort of matter, time and time again—praise be to Him! Please continue to use your gift as it so helps the forum’s members and readership. Even if I didn’t agree with you, which I do, I’d be giving what you just wrote here some prayerful considerations. I’m praying for your efforts and your protection from spiritual attack. Sts. Pio, Vianney and Galgani, pray for us!

  20. Dear JoM,
I could not have said it any better. You’ve gone to the CORE with what is at issue on several accounts. I agree with so much of what you wrote that I’d be quoting your entire comment trying to point that out—thank you!
