Rebellious Christians are part of the problem.

This has been bothering me for quite some time.

    No, I'm not perfect either.

But I've been surprised at the number of proclaimed Christians in the USA who, on the one hand, insist we be a country of law and order ... but who then protest the arrest of people (in this case, Christians) not socially distancing or wearing masks in places where such is MANDATED BY LAW.

    o_O

These same people demand that BLM and Antifa quit their law-breaking ways (I agree).

There are too many people in this country who want special treatment. Christians are supposed to set an example of patience, kindness, humility, and adherence to laws. Otherwise one has no basis for complaint against others, right? :coffee:

Can you point me to the law that you are referring to?

    Are you in the USA?

    I'm referring to here.

My State requires wearing masks in public spaces. It is legally mandated. Elsewhere too.

https://cv.nmhealth.org/2020/05/15/governor-signs-modified-extended-public-health-order-easing-some-restrictions-and-requiring-face-coverings/#:~:text=SANTA FE – Gov.,in public, among other changes.

"and requires everyone to wear a cloth face covering in public"

This includes posting mask and social distancing MANDATES on doors of grocery stores, etc. I pass them repeatedly. Don't have photos to prove it, but taking photos of such doors isn't a hobby.

If you find this disagreeable or believe Christians deserve special treatment, don't bother with me further. :)

Well okay, you post your thoughts on the subject but tell others that don't agree with you to not bother you further :ROFLMAO:

We aren't a dictatorship - as you said we are a country of laws. The order is unconstitutional and infringes unjustly on my rights. Lacking justification (there isn't any) I'm well within my right to not comply with the order.

I figured your original reply for a troll. Yep.

    Not if it's law.

    You're part of the problem.

    Per CDC:

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html

Infection Fatality Rate for COVID by age:

    0-19 .003%
    20-49 .02%
    50-69 .5%
    70+ 5.4%

There is no moral justification for this mandate, therefore I am free to discard it. This is a power grab from the State. You supporting it and trying to shame people into following unjust executive order (which is unconstitutional) is part of the problem.

And trying to equate BLM violent protests to not people not wearing a mask? And you are calling me a troll?

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. (1 Samuel 15:23a)

    Romans:
13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

A governors mandate is not and does not carry the force of law.

    So what does, then?

Stores have this posted on their front doors - legal mandate.

I'll also toss into this discussion Reverends like Al Sharpton and others, who don't like a court's ruling and deem it wrong, "so let's take to the streets."

A lot of Christians have contributed to the chaos and mayhem we're now seeing on a regular basis.

Stores have been required to remove signs like this because they are disingenuous. It is not a law. Businesses do have the right to require things such as masks or social distancing but under the right of refusal of service and can legally charge a person with trespass who refuses to adhere to the requirement. We all make the choice on entering to adhere to and in turn give or refuse our business to them. This is the way that governors and mayors have chosen to "require" masks and social distancing in places because they know well that it would be challenged and thrown out of court as a violation of civil rights were they to try to enforce it otherwise. Governors have threatened fines and revoking business licenses on businesses who refuse to comply.
We all have the right to protest laws and activities of the government that are tyrannical or over reaching. In this country often one has to be arrested for violation of an unjust or over reaching law before it can be adequately challenged in the courts and overturned.
Since we are beginning to see people arrested now in the US for not following mask mandates it will make its way into the court system finally and can be addressed in the public square.

So if the government mandated that you have to get a vaccine for Corona Virus by law would you get the vaccine?

Surely in the US the possibility of federal unjust laws is recognised? Is this not the rationale underpinning the National Guard. Wasn't the guard created to defend a states citizenry against unjust federal intervention ?

People are very anxious about all of this. This is because we are used to freedom and liberty. What they have pushed on us is unheard of in our history. Americans aren't used to being told what to do. We have a Bill of Rights and a Constitution that govern us. The Bill of Rights in not Rights per se, they are limits on the government. The corona virus has NOT suspended the Bill of Rights, at all. In fact, they have encroached on our rights under the guise of "safety". All the mandates in the world do not supersede the Constitution. The presidents emergency powers during this time does not suspend the Constitution. And you notice Trump is very careful.

Here in Arizona, the signs are up in all the stores. People wear them for whatever their reasons are but people take them off or put them under their chin inside the stores after they pass the "door Nazis". In my county the sheriff and mayor of the town have said they are not enforcing the mask mandate. It is a suggestion. So the stores know that they can ask people to comply but they can't make them because it will not be enforced. The police could be called and the police will do nothing because our sheriff has said it is unconstitutional. Over in the next county and city, the mayor is a bit different. The signs that are posted say "By law mask mandate" and they will be enforced. I still see people without masks and they are shopping just like everyone else. They are not asking them to leave the stores because they want their business.

If masks worked why oh why haven't we been wearing them every flu season to "slow the spread" of flu? Why.....because they simple do not work.

We all need to be reading about Sweden who had no mandate and no closures. They had the disease, it spiked and then went down. They didn't shut their society down and force masks and they had no "second wave". There is so much diabolical disorientation now it is frustrating.

May God bless us all during these difficult times.
