https://www.itv.com/news/2020-09-08...s-witnesses-a-brazen-display-of-militia-power seen the above report on the news last night...scary times for sure for our american friends time for much prayer...
It does not look like the wild west to me, it looks more like a civil war in the making. The African Americans remind me of the Irish with the Celtic Tiger, it sure came back to bite the Irish. But hey, no one listens. We can stay with the 54 day Novena petitioning God through Blessed Mothers intercession to preserve America. We might lose the battle, but we know we are fighting (prayer warrior style) for the Peace and Prosperity of all Americans regardless of original roots.
Yes. That novena is still ongoing. There is a sign outside a church here that says “pray until something happens” We aren’t giving up.
America is a tinderbox. I am 61 years old and scared for my country for the first time in my life. Things are about to explode and the country is divided.... Yesterday a man drove down the highway with a Trump flag on the back of his pickup. He received cheers and honks and also curses and horrible screaming. That's where we are at in the middle of suburban USA
That was my immediate thought when watching the news reel ..you know I wouldn't know what way I would react if that was on my door step..I came through the troubles and know how to defend myself but things are so much different now especially being a father,,,
Yes, different in the times we are in, and especially for you being a father. I have a family as well. Scary
Exactly.- "the Rosary ain't beanbag" ( taking a slang from the streets)--it is powerful against hell and i think we all know that is what we are up against.
Here in the real Wild West, Arizona, I don't see it. People have always been armed here. Major cities (Phoenix, Tucson) are problematic but the police chief in Phoenix still has control and the police are still doing their jobs. We have had literally 1 incident in Scottsdale early on after George Floyd but the Democrat police chief did her job. Period. And we have not had any other problems. I know the country is divided. I can see it and feel it. But I think outside the liberal cities and states people are just trying to get back to work and get back to some kind of normal. In doing some research, ITV is a conservative news so I am surprised that they put this piece out. There are some buzz words and statements that bother me. America's militias - Ummmm, there are no American militias per se. We can always call militias but I do not see that happening on a large or even small scale here in the US. People are arming themselves to the teeth but they are staying home not walking the streets. "One militia leader is Dylan Stevens, known as the Angry Viking. He sees himself as filling a security vacuum " - Angry Viking. Doesn't sound very level headed or conservative. My 2 cents, he sounds like a Rennie (person that follows the renaissance faires, like a gypsy). Most rennies are liberal hippy types that are angry because they want the world to be a huge party. "Other Americans watching these scenes unfold are arming up. It's a self-perpetuating spiral of fear, intimidation, reaction, and counter-reaction." - I don't see this happening. Of course, in the riot areas there is honest fear. And even here in AZ were are concerned but I do not see or hear anyone looking to counter act these riots. Most people want to live their lives as much as possible and stay away from the hot areas. "But she did so with three weapons, including an AR-15 semi-automatic. " - this was my favorite and a definite tip off there is an agenda in the article. The dreaded semi auto AR-15. . I mean, she had 3 guns and they pointed out the buzz word, AR-15 . Please. "He sees NFAC as a counter-militia to the white supremacists that often dominate this space." - Really? Everyday Americans are not doing any of this stuff, en masse. There are certainly problems. The problems seem to be centered in liberal cities of liberal states and the police and National guards are late to the party because the liberal leaders are having them stand down. The people orchestrating this mess are trying to start something big. They are trying to start a civil war and I think they will be unsuccessful. Americans are tired of the bs. They are tired of the endless wars our government has placed us in for decades. We just want to live and prosper. The media seems bent on promoting fear. It's fear porn!! Yes, Americans are buying weapons and ammo. It is flying off the shelves. Most Americans have owned guns for years. This is not new. But when we see the liberal blm and antifa going into neighborhoods to cause trouble we want to be ready to defend our families. That's all. Most sane people do not take to the streets to go up against this mess. Most people have their weapons ready to defend their families and property SHOULD something come to them. I think the above piece was meant to scare and that's all. If their are counter militia out there, they are working for the liberal side too. Many of these people are paid criminals and will "act" on either side to start the supposed civil war. "They" want a civil war so bad they are aching for it. Then they can get rid of the Constitution and rewrite what they want. I wouldn't surprise me if these factions are working for the same side. Just my 2 cents. Editing to add : I think it is good to read these things but also to discern. There is so much information out there it is hard to tell truth. So I appreciate the post.
I feel so sorry for the protestors and rioters. They seem so young and lost. Very often when we are being angry at others it is just another way of being angry at ourselves. We are not angry at others for what they have done, we are simply angry and confused by our own unhappiness. I love the Old Chinese Missionary prayer, 'Lord change the whole world beginning with myself'. I see a whole Universe of injustice and evil in my own heart..in my own sins. I seek to change this first. My Spiritual Life, my whole life is spent and will be spent opening the doors of my pig sty to let the Good Lord enter to clean the dirt within me. Never mind the evils of others. Let us not look without to change the world, let us look at the evils of the World within us. I was just watching a lovely old French film there for the umpteenth time on the Patron Saint of Parish Priests , The cure of Ars. He came to a pig sty of a village but changed it and much of Francs by changing himself. The Devil constantly attacked him. This morning at the Consecration at Mass I heard the devil say quite clearly, 'Why do you bother with this mummery; this foolishness?' I laughed. The word, 'Mummery' is so old fashioned. Then he said, 'How do you know any of this is true? That it is all not nonsense?' My Faith shook as in an Earthquake. Its so true we walk by Faith and Faith alone. I believe Lord; Lord help my unbelief.
We change the world by opening our hearts to grace to change ourselves. The idea that we can force or threaten others to be good or just is an illusion. The best we can do is lead them by our own example and prayers and sacrifice. By opening ourselves to change . By changing ourselves we change the world. Not by forcing change in others.
Very well said! St. Mother Teresa said "I do not agree with a big way of doing things. What matters is the individual. If we wait till we get numbers, then we will be lost in the numbers and we will never be able to show that love and respect for the person." She believed in starting with yourself and your family. Little things with great love
Not to believe in God is , by definition, insanity. A Psychiatrist said that any young man between the age of 15 and 25 is insane because of hormones. So they are to be pitied. Very much pitied. When I watch them I see myself at their age. It causes me to cringe but there you are. Winston Churchill wrote that anyone under the age of 25 who was not a Socialist had no heart. But that anyone over the age of 25 who was a Socialist had no head. Much of this is a result of being taught what to think rather than how to think. The best argument for homeschooling I ever saw. Poor young people. One day they will look back on all this and cringe themselves.
I cannot help but to remember back in 2008 when Obama was campaigning and he lamented “those who cling to their guns or religion” he was in fact speaking about law-abiding citizens, of whom which never fired a gun in anger and happened to believe in God (our Americans still free to do that?). What would Obama say about the “bitter clingers” today who are hard core extreme left-wing radicals who cling to a Molotov Cocktail, bricks, cans of soup, baseball bats, hammers, skateboards . . . . you name it, all in order to participate in the destruction of a civilized society. And do not forget the same who cling to a firearm to ambush law enforcement. What would Obama say about it? Everyone already knows the answer. Let me see if I understand the Radical Left: A person should not have the right to be born. Pregnant women should head straight to an abortion facility. It’s called “empowerment.” A person who is alive, has a family & property, is a law-abiding citizen their whole entire life, that person should not be allowed to own a firearm to protect their life and their families from violent career criminals who roam the streets after being allowed release from jail by a radical leftist Judge. Obama was adamant in his support of late-term abortion, even going as far as voting NO for giving life-support to a baby who managed to survive an abortion. Maybe if his mother decided to exercise her right to abortion, he would have known what it felt like. Yet he is a typical example of people my father used to talk about - “people love to see blood, but they don’t want it to ever happen to them.”
I wonder what it was like, say in Ancient Rome or Jerusalem, 2,000 years ago. The Church had just been founded and for someone who was a Christian walking through the Market Place. Their views as they listened to people like St Paul would have been so very, very, different from those of the people around them. So if they expressed their world view they could have been killed right away. The Light in the Dark was just being lit. From Paganism to Christianity./ Now 2,000 years later it is the other way around. The Light that once was lit is going out. So once again in the Market Place as Christians when we express our beliefs we risk Persecution. I recall , years ago a historian describing a day in pre Christian Rome. The first thing a person would have heard when they woke up in the morning was the cries of abandoned babies, left to die. We don't hear the cries of abandoned babies anymore, but only because we kill them off more efficiently, right in their mothers wombs.
