I dunno; if you're pro-abortion and Catholic, something is definitely amiss. Meanwhile, has he ever defended Donald Trump against being called Hitler?
I have been absolutely shocked at the number of Catholics who would spit in your eye if you said anything positive about Trump. And woe betide anyone saying anything negative about Biden in their company. Gone are the days when we could share opinions without being cancelled by the culture. It is a mystery how Catholics could support a man who promotes infanticide and sodomite nuptials. Two of the sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance.

Honestly?? I still cannot comprehend religious/spiritual involvement in politics. My childhood Protestant church / denomination (Church of the Nazarene) was NEVER involved. I never heard anything about politics from those pulpits. Unsure if that's changed (I hope not). The belief was "watch and pray" -- "God is in control."
The evil one will lead astray (the great falling away obviously comes to mind) as many as he can to keep the number of souls from entering this world and being born into the Spirit that God has pre ordained before the end of this world. Look at the huge global brainwashing for over population that is rampant in every nation and the governments of this world that continually reward or punish nations for their involvement in this diabolical plan. Putting ourselves in his "hooves" for a moment; If the end of your dominion and your inevitable and final destruction were dependent on stopping (which he knows he can't but leads humans to believe he can) or slowing humanity from reaching the number of souls who will enter Heaven in communion with God you, hating them, would do anything to stop them and anything to lead them astray from the truth. I know all this is all a hugely esoteric thought practice but I think that it aligns with God's design. The time of the prince of this world is always drawing ever closer to an end and he knows it and in fact it is ever unceasingly on his mind too but he does not know the day or the hour. The rulers of this world that serve him will become more and more hostile to anyone who has truly given themselves to God and to His design as a result. Clearly, the falling away is plain for anyone to see in this article. How many have defied and actively worked against the authority of the Pope that now reside in positions of power inside the Church? Just look to the actions of the Jesuit order during the papacy of Saint Pope John Paul II who removed it's Secretary General and his protege as a result. Look as well at that orders treatment of his predecessors Saints Paul VI and John XXIII. The remarks they made regarding Pope Paul VI 's Humane Vitae were enough I think to break his heart.
this is one of the reasons that I think it is wrong to compare the errors of the current Pope with those of the Other Popes who came after the Second Vatican Council, none of them was indifferent in relation to abortion and did not even want to soften the Church's teaching on homosexuality, the priest James Martin represents a type of Church that Francis wanted to implement at the Synod on the family of 2015, but I did not succeed.
It seems to me that the Church is being sifted like wheat. There is a constant winnowing in deeper and deeper stages. Many people around here are not going back to Mass. They don't miss it. I cannot imagine this but I guess it is so for some people. 50 years of dumbing down the Catholic faith has done the job. We must pray and pray and pray to stay faithful because things are getting very very serious IMHO.
Here is the prayer Bishop Schneider has written for us to say every day, to petition Blessed Mother to intercede with her Son and bring about the Consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart by the Holy Father. On reading posts about various topics on the Forum there seems to be a deep disturbance of the spirit, and this prayer came to mind..Peace. O Immaculate Heart of Mary, you are the holy Mother of God and our tender Mother. Look upon the distress in which the Church and the whole of humanity are living because of the spread of materialism and the persecution of the Church. In Fatima, you warned against these errors, as you spoke about the errors of Russia. You are the Mediatrix of all graces. Implore your Divine Son to grant this special grace for the Pope: that he might consecrate Russia to your Immaculate Heart, so that Russia will be converted, a period of peace will be granted to the world, and your Immaculate Heart will triumph, through an authentic renewal of the Church in the splendour of the purity of the Catholic Faith, of the sacredness of Divine worship and of the holiness of the Christian life. O Queen of the Holy Rosary and our sweet Mother, turn your merciful eyes to us and graciously hear this our trusting prayer. Amen.
Father Martin diabolically mincing his words, again. How this must grieve the Heart of Our Immaculate Mother!
I never thought, that I would live to see a U.S. president, stand up more publicly for the rights of the unborn, than priests, bishops, cardinals & a pope all put together.
DesertStar, it was the exact opposite in the denominations I grew up in, where everyone assumed the entire church was 100% all of the same political persuasion. You would have flyers on your cars, and politicians would be invited to speak. It led to a lot of conflicts within the churches I attended. I find policies in both political parties in the US that align with Christian teaching and policies that completely go against God's will and the teaching of the Catholic church. My preference would be that priest and bishops speak in favor of policies that align with the teachings of Christ and speak against the ones that don't, regardless of the political party. The intense polarization in this country is not healthy, and anytime we view an entire political party as "evil," evangelization becomes quite difficult in my opinion.
I still think politics have no place in a church / over the pulpit. Of course that's how I was raised. Enough difficulties with doctrinal disputes (at least amongst Protestants).
