here in Brazil in the state where I live the occupancy rate of ICU beds is already 82.9%, and as for mortality in the country the whole disease has decimated entire families since it has become common to die parents and children, siblings, spouses just a few days apart. This all adding to the context of unemployment in the middle of quarantine

I saw really the very saddest thing by chance a couple of months ago. It was an interview with a very, very devout Catholic man in a wheelchair who was dying from Terminal Cancer and who was being nursed at home by his heroic sister who had left her own family to do so; bless her.

But the interviewer asked her how they were both getting on considering the virus and she said both their greatest grief was that when they had asked the local priest to come out to administer the sacraments and later to give the Last Rites he refused to do so citing Health and Safety, that it would be too dangerous.

More sad still when the Father did so he was merely following the advice of the English Bishops. He was correct in this.

It's all so very, very sad. Why do they think and act like this? Because they think with the Spirit of this World. They have lost all touch with the Mystical/supernatural reality. They are far more Social Workers than priests.

They do continue to believe in God in a kinda way. They have a kind of watered down wishy washy , mean well Faith. But it is not a Living Faith. In short they are typical modernist Liberal Social Action do gooders. Not Catholic in any real sense.

Or course there really are one or two truly good Catholic Bishops as there were in the tie of King Henry the 8th. But only one or two.

As for the rest forget about it.

Its the same here in Ireland.

If you want to know who a good Bishop is and who a bad Bishop is, ask one simple question.

Did he keep his Churches open during the Pandemic or did he close them?

If he kept them open , you've a good Bishop.

If he closed them up, you've a Bad Bishop.

The same thing goes for the Bishop of Rome.

It's just as simple as that.

    Testing times.

There will come a time when we'll just have to say a big, 'No' to all this stuff. A bit like the Boston tea party.

But it will take great courage.

I am so sorry President Trump sold out to this stuff.

It certainly seems as if we have a lot more walking by the flesh than the spirit. It's a horror that people have died alone and unable to receive last rites let alone the simple comfort of a relative by their side.
I can't help but be very suspicious that a virus is going so strong in the middle of summer all over the USA and yet the press completely ignores that it is literally defying nature. This resists both logic and science but of course some scientist will be along any time now to assure us that it's really not that odd or unusual. Oh and why is it the US is being hoisted up on it's own petard by the press as the petri dish of discontent? I think we all know the answer to that.

the protocol of treatment against the disease is being decentralized in the hands of the mayors of each municipality, some adopt the medicine and others give in to the pressure of the media accusing the medicines of being ineffective

I feel so hurt that the church did not stand up for those afflicted by this sickness. Dying alone without family or church... my heart bleeds....

But even before the Pandemic priests have very often been very, very slow to come out to give the Last Rites. This is I believe because of the loss of Faith in the efficacy of the Sacraments, including the mass. If they had truly known the worth of the Mass the Churches would never have closed, ever.
A True Faith inculcates a Deep hunger for the Eucharist that is supernatural. To have such a hunger and refuse to nourish it would have been unthinkable.

Often I regard a priest on the altar and my eyes widen and I pay closer attention for it is very obvious that the priest deeply believes in what he is doing and what is happening.

I remember one time commenting to an old priest about how much I admired that manner in which Padre Pio said the mass. He became disgruntled and asked what made Padre Pio so special? I replied that one thing was that his mass could sometimes take several hours. The old priest commented that if he wanted to stretch the mass to last for several hours he could so so too. But that people led busy lives.

But he missed the point. It wasn't the time the Saint took to say the mass it was the love and Faith he put into doing so. The love.

That is the reason why Good Liturgy is so important , for it is the rail road tracks on which the train of love moves.
