In discussing a dream about St. Joseph I had-#723 - #739 I decided to pray the St.Joseph's Cloak novena. Starting tomorrow-July 1'st{the Feast of the Precious Blood, until it was removed from the calendar in 1969} for 30 days through the month of the Precious Blood. A few members said they would join in and I am posting this for any one else who would like to join in. It is a lot of prayers I know but I feel called to do it and feel it's important for me to do this for the Church{priests, religious and laity, and for a future holy pope}, for my country, and for my spouse and family.

Here are two links to the novena

I’m not sure I’ll be able to do this, in all honesty. Too much going on here right now. I’m so glad that you are doing this, Sam, and AED. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for posting the links here. The first link I already put in favorites but the second link I had not been too. Lovely photos on that site and the relics of St. Joseph's cloak and Mary's veil. How awesome.

Will be starting tomorrow morning :)

After watching a live chat last night on FB with Fathers Pavone and Donald Calloway I am adding a new intention-to pray for the protection of the unborn and to end abortion. Satanists and witches pray and fast for abortion and understand and know this well and I am convinced that sacrifice of the unborn is opening the pits of hell and unleashing of demons on the earth. Fr. Calloway spoke of a sermon of St. John Paul II in Kalisz Poland at the Shrine of St. Joseph, which I'll leave some excerpts from.

    2. "Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt" (Mt 2:13).

Joseph heard these words in his sleep. The angel had warned him to flee with the Child, because he was threatened by mortal danger. From the Gospel just read we learn about those who were threatening the Child's life. In the first place Herod, but then also all his followers. In this way the liturgy of the word guides our thought towards the problem of life and its defence. Joseph of Nazareth, who saved Jesus from the cruelty of Herod, is shown to us in this moment as a great supporter of the cause of the defence of human life, from the first moment of conception to natural death. In this place, therefore, we wish to commend human life to Divine Providence and to Saint Joseph, especially the life of children not yet born, in our homeland and throughout the world. Life has an inviolable value and an unrepeatable dignity, especially because - as we read today in the liturgy - every person is called to share in God's life. Saint John writes: "See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are!" (1 Jn 3:1).

With the eyes of faith we can see with particular clarity the infinite value of every human being. The Gospel, by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus, announces also the Good News of man, of his great dignity, and teaches sensitivity concerning man. Because every man, insofar as he has a spiritual soul, is "capable of God". The Church, in defending the right to life, is making a broader appeal, a universal one which obliges all men and women. The right to life is not a question of ideology, not only a religious right; it is a human right. The most fundamental human right! God says: "You shall not kill!" (Ex 20:13). This commandment is at one and the same time a basic principle and a norm of the moral code written in the conscience of every human being.

The measure of civilization, a universal and permanent measure which includes all cultures, is its relationship with life. A civilization which rejected the defenceless would deserve to be called a barbarian civilization, even though it had great successes in the field of economics, technology, art and science. The Church, faithful to the mission received from Christ, despite the weaknesses and infidelities of many of her sons and daughters, has consistently brought into human history the great truth of love of neighbour, has reduced social divisions, overcome racial and ethnic differences, cared for the sick and the orphaned, the old, the handicapped and the homeless. She has taught with words and deeds that no one can be excluded from the great human family, that no one can be pushed to the edges of society. Defence of the life of children not yet born is the consequence of this mission of the Church.

The whole sermon is a beautiful defense of life and also speaks of priests and the Eucharist which you can read here:

Well, did anyone else finish? I finished and am re-consecrating my self today on the last day of the month dedicated to the Precious Blood of Jesus.

    Consecration to St. Joseph

    Dear St. Joseph,

On this day, before God and your Immaculate Spouse, Mary, I ___________________ choose you as my spiritual father forever. I formally entrust myself to your fatherly care. I love you, and I trust in your prayers for my life. As your spiritual child, I give you full permission (and in fact, I'm begging you) to please act in my life, especially by...

Praying for me constantly in a special way,
Bringing me even deeper into the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Providing for me and all my loved ones,
Guarding and protecting me from bodily and spiritual evil,
Guiding me to always do God's most perfect will,
Helping me to suffer with love and without complaint,
Giving me purity of body and of soul,
Forming me into a person of peace and joy,
Preparing me for a beautiful and happy death.

From this day forward, St. Joseph, you are my spiritual father, and I am your child. I trust you and love you, and I look forward to meeting you someday in heaven. I ask all of this in Jesus' name and for the glory of God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

I’ve been trying to complete this prayer journey, too.

I’ve been watching and enjoying a particular series on TV. Every night I watch an episode. Last week I was struggling to get through the prayers before settling down to watch.

Anyway, I made it and switched on. During the episode one of the characters had to go to hospital in Spain and whilst entering the building passed a very large statue of St Joseph holding baby Jesus. I rewound to double check and there he was!! I took that as encouragement!

What a sign from God! I had a hard time too. Several times, I remembered late at night and had to switch the computer on and struggled through just willing myself to stay awake.

I finished it and like everyone else I had evenings where I really had to push myself. So glad I did and I did the consecration today. I had been including a prayer to St. Joseph for some time now. This felt like the next step. Thanks again Sam for putting this in front of me.... happy out!
