  1. That's why a lot of forumers here are saying that Fr. Michel is lying because he said on record that he founded a Priestly Order. The email reply of his bishop exposed that it was only a Lay Order . He got caught.

Jo M, HeavenlyHosts and Christy1983 like this.
  2. From Bishop Lemay:

1.) “I have to tell you that Fr. Michel NEVER SUBMITTED to me any of his locutions and visions for discernment or approval.”

2.) Moreover, I learnt about his teaching while reading some reports on the website (Countdown)

3.) I did not and I do not approve his teaching with regard to his locutions and visions.

4.) It is UNTRUE that he receives the full support of his bishop as written in the Countdown to the Kingdom website and book.

5.) Fr. Michel is the Founder of a Lay Order. (Fr. Michel said that his is a Priestly Order.

In my observation, I believe that Countdown website is guilty of misleading their readers.

Not quite, it encompasses more than a simple lay order, but it also has a priestly branch.
You can see for yourself. Note that these websites are in French, but Google translate can help.

At the website of the Archdiocese of Amos, under the Activities, there is this description:

    http://www.diocese-amos.org/sn_uploads/Activites_formation_et_croissance_spirituelle-juin2019.pdf

"Apostolic Brotherhood of St. Benedict Joseph Labre
It is a work of evangelization composed of three branches: the first is priestly or
diaconal, the second is for married couples and the third is for lay people who want to
dedicate their lives as an offering to the Father for the advancement of the Kingdom.

Their concern is that members of the Apostolic Brotherhood of St. Benedict Joseph Labre
practice the discernment of presbyteral vocations, the Christian formation of
communities, discernment and the exercise of charisma and ministries in the Church
Diocesan. This community pursues the goal of evangelical renewal. Faithful to Saint BenedictJoseph Lâbre, the worship and mystery of the Eucharist will be at the heart of their apostolate and a look new to the Father. In partnership with the Monastery of the Heart of Jesus and Bishop of Amos, the Apostolic Brotherhood of St. Benedict Joseph Labre offers
theology, both on-site and online, which constitutes the St. Joseph's Studium and promotes the formation of future priests or training in theology.

    Information: Michel Rodrigue, fabl, 819 444-6710 - info@studiumsjosephth.org

Then, if you go to the Fraternite's website and look under its constitution you will find more on its scope and organization. Quite impressive!

    Chapter 1

Nature of the Apostolic Brotherhood of St. Benedict Joseph Labre

The Apostolic Brotherhood of St. Benedict-Joseph Labre is a work of evangelization composed of three branches: the first is priestly and diaconal, the second is for married couples and the third is for lay people wishing to dedicate their lives as an offering to the Father for the advancement of the Kingdom. The Fraternity is constituted and recognized by the local bishop for the priority service of small Christian communities. Priests and deacons will be incardinated in the diocese from which the Brotherhood originates and, with agreement with the superior and the bishop, will work according to the charisma of the Brotherhood in diocesan circles designated by the agreement between the superior and the bishop. All brothers and sisters share the same purpose and spirituality.

Members live in fraternity by household. They will accept and go on a team mission of two or three that will include a legitimate representation of each branch headed by a priest of the Brotherhood. The agreement between the superior and the bishop will protect this specificity from the charisma of the Brotherhood.

The Apostolic Fraternity of St. Benedict Joseph Labre defines itself as a work of apostolic life for evangelization, sanctification, creation and the growth of Catholic environments.

More information about Fr. Michel's is found in the September, 2018, Bulletin of the Archdiocese Of Amos
    http://www.diocese-amos.org/sn_uploads/BulletinSept2018A2.pdf

On page 7, there is a write up written by Fr. Michel about the consecration of the new monastery building of the Fraternity of Benedict-Joseph Labre : ( I am using Google translate) Fr. Michel notes that the date marks their arrival in Amos in 2011, and the consecration of the monastery. There is a photo of the first building of the monastery and of Msg. Gilles Lamay, Fr. Michel and the three young priests of this order.

"On August 15, on the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the
Fraternity of St. Benedict-Joseph Labre celebrated two great events. The first recalled his arrival in the diocese of Amos; there
seven years old and the second, the consecration of his first Monastery.

Last year, on this date, the monk brothers received the religious dress that characterizes the priestly branch of the Brotherhood. This
year, all celebrated the entrance to the new monastery.

At the heart of the festival were people from
    different horizons. Representatives of different
    States: California, New York, Michigan.
People who also came from Ontario and finally people from many parts of Quebec who
    with the parishioners of Saint-Dominique-Rosaire,
    Saint-Félix-de-Dalquier, Matagami, and several
municipality and cities of our diocese rejoiced
    event.

"The celebration was magnificent, the brotherhood, the unity and the joy of
    all were palpable. (Louise Roddrick)

"At the time of the Blessing of the Monastery; the sky, which
was covered, ajar to let the sun appear with its rays that illuminated the whole place. »
(Jacinthe Rivard) [ Fr. Michel speaks of this event in one of his videos]

"At the meal, to see all this good people singing the Hallelujah together, it was wonderful." (Louis Mc Anany)

All members of the Apostolic Fraternity of St. Joseph-Labre are pleased to see from now on
the evangelization project that is taking place form in its institutional component and, starting in the fall,
will provide new services to the people of the region.
All are unanimous in thanking from the bottom of their hearts
all our generous donors and all the people who,
for a long time, pray for this beautiful day!

We have had this discussion on this forum before about the era of peace - many disagree that we have had an era of peace & I certainly don't as the last 60 years have been the most demonic and sinful in all of History --

There has not even been a 'relative era of peace'. And I don't believe the Great War was World War One - it was essentially a European war so was not really global in character yes you had British Empire involvement but major battles were in France and Belgium border areas.

Was there an era of peace for the millions of unborn children who have been butchered in their mothers wombs the greatest holocaust in history?

We live in the real dark ages --

You mention the late great Pope John Paull II - what did he say in 1979?

We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of the American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel. This confrontation lies within the plans of divine Providence; it is trial which the whole Church, and the Polish Church in particular, must take up. It is a trial of not only our nation and the Church, but, in a sense, a test of 2,000 years of culture and Christian civilization with all of its consequences for human dignity, individual rights, human rights and the rights of nations.”

    He said now in 1979!!

Things have worsened exponentially since then --

No, there has not been an era of peace at all - not for the unborn, nor for the children and families torn apart by no fault divorce, corrupted by false sex education, pornography and evils of the flesh - is there peace in mens hearts - not at all prisons are full, suicides are commonplace -- perversions are promoted as natural that make even the demons blush -- churches are empty, God is mocked and blasphemed, evil is promoted as good and good as evil. Materialism, atheism, egoism, hedonism and pride are the sins of this evil generation!

That is why in the near future we are going to get a chastisement that will break this evil generation, and afterwards there will be true peace in men's hearts -- for men will acknowledge God and recognise His hand in the chastisments and humble themsleves before Him in reverence Him and Holy Fear. They will tell their children and grandchildren of the times they lived through.

Welcome to the Mother of God forum!

I looked for local press coverage and found this article in the Society pages of the electronic edition of Le Citoyen, August 23, 2018, there is an article about the " The monastery inaugurated in St-Dominique-du-Rosaire."

[Nota bene] I am using Google Translate from French to English
    https://www.lecitoyenvaldoramos.com...-monastere-inaugure-a-st-dominique-du-rosaire

In the company of a candidate to the priesthood, Philippe McAnany, and of Monseignor Guilles Lamay, Father Michel Rodrige proceeds to give the blessing with
    incense

More than 150 guests, some from as far away as the United States, first attended a mass at the Church of Saint-Dominique, before visiting the new building erected from July to November 2017 on the site acquired in 2016.

Father Michel Rodrigue, superior of the Brotherhood, then proceeded to bless the place and then cut the ribbon with Bishop Gilles Lemay of Amos. "This opening celebration marks a great starting point. This is only the first building. The project will develop over time," he said after the ceremony.

    The first of two
The building is 40 by 60 feet in size, on three floors, including the basement, this first monastery is divided into two distinct sections to accommodate future priests on one side and consecrated on the other.

"We have three candidates for the priesthood and we will soon have a fourth. A fifth will come this fall to discern and two more propose to come in the spring. The house will already be full on the men's side," said Father Rodrigue.

The second monastery that the Brotherhood will eventually build will be occupied by men, while the present one will be redeveloped to accommodate only the consecrated. "The second monastery will also have a hotel that will allow people to come and retreat, have desert times and make ressourcements (?). At the moment, we can only accommodate three at a time," said Father Michel Rodrigue.

    Providential help
The Brotherhood also intends to develop a product. "There will be the choice of a product that will be typical for us and for the region, that will mark the region. The monastery will be called to do like the other great monasteries and spread this product for a living," he said.

For the time being, the projects of the Fraternité Saint-Benoit-Joseph Labre are being realized thanks to numerous donations. "Our main donations come from the United States. The Abitibian community also helps us through service, volunteerism and donations. People help us according to their ability. Everything is providential and every donation is well oriented," said Father Michel Rodrigue.

    New vocations
Bishop Gilles Lemay welcomed the opening of this monastery in his diocese, as it will harmonize contemplation and apostolate.

"I am sure that this apostolic dimension will bear fruit. Three seminarians are already in preparation to become priests. Now that there is a space, the Brotherhood will be able to receive other people who need to see what a community and prayer life looks like. It is an open door for new vocations," stressed the Bishop of Amos.

    A fraternity with three branches
Established in the diocese of Amos since 2012, the Fraternity of St. Benedict-Joseph Labre has three branches: a first for priestly and diaconal vocations, a second one for families and a third for consecrated life. It currently hosts three candidates for the priesthood: Luc Boulerice, Louis-René Gareau and Philippe Mc Anany. The family branch has 21 members. The Brotherhood is also a partner with the Monastery of the Heart of Jesus of Chicoutimi in the St. Joseph's Studium (studiumstjoseph.org), which teaches theology.

I do not think these three young men are priests. They maybe want to be priests. Maybe they are brothers. If they were priests, Bishop Lemay would have verified that fact in his letter.
Captions to photos are not necessarily what the bishop has verified. He says this is a fraternity of lay people.
The other fact that is unsettling is that Bishop Lemay states that Fr Michel
never spoke in his diocese or all of Quebec. He spoke in the US. The bishop
had to find out about his activities through the internet.

  9. This is the primary reason that I have taken issue with Father Michel. It is because his prophecy of nuclear war. If he is really a person that believes in the Medjugorje messages, he would know from the messages that Our Lady gives that we are too pray and fast to avoid war. Our Lady has stressed several times that satan wants to destroy the world on which we live and she is appealing to us to pray and fast to avoid this. Father Michel says that WW3 is unavoidable. That is contradictory to the messages of Medjugorje. I am most surprised that Christine Watkins would use Father Michel's testimony in her book because of Father Michel's stance on unavoidable nuclear war and his testimony on seeing the parchment containing the ten secrets of Medjugorje. Father Michel said that he was invited by Father Barbaric (who is deceased and can not inform us as to the truth of this encounter) to view a 'book which contained the secrets of Medjugorje' in a hidden room. Father Michel said he touched 'the book' but couldn't see anything on the 'pages.' From other books, we know that Mirjana has described the secrets being written on a parchment type scroll that she has in her house. The only time she was separated from the parchment was when she had to flee Sarajevo during the Bosnian war. A United Nations peacekeeper brought some of her documents (including the parchment) from their family apartment in Sarajevo back to Mirjana in Medjugorje after the war ended. She said that she has let two people look at the parchment. One was her cousin who looked at the parchment and saw someone appealing for help written on it. Mirjana showed it to a friend who saw a prayer written on it. Mirjana stated, "Since then , I have not shown it to anyone else because different people see it in different ways, and only I see it as containing the ten secrets. " Father Michel adds things to his presentation that may be dangerous...'your money will be worthless, better to give it away now'

Should I step in defense of the personality of Fr Michel, after I clearly said I do not accept his otherwise very interesting locutions because of several big controversies?

It is unthinkable that he would establish a order, be it lay, priestly, or mixed, without explicit approval and direction of his bishop. here I sense a desire of the bishop to wash his hands after fr Michel has been made so popular and controversial. Equally, I do not believe that Fr Michel didn;t mention even once about his locutions (or better say, private insight) before his bishop. How would it be he gives public speeches, not only in Canada but also in USA and Europe, that are freely available on youtube, and his bishop just recently learned of it from the site Countdown?

rather we have Pontius Pilate II in the face of his bishop. That doesn't make out of fr Michel a valid prophet, but certainly a personal victim of a corrupt system. Maybe he can write to the Vatican with the full record of his alleged locutions. But, since they are skewed in one side, including politically, he is unlikely to receive the blessing of the Vatican for something that cannot be approved. I am not against the person fr Michel, he might be indeed holy, and that's why I write that in his defense in the face of that apparently unjust and untrue statement of his bishop. It is all because I am always the denier, you know...

Ezdra, Well said. Something is wrong with some of the statements that are floating around in relation to Father Michel Rodrigue.

In addition, almost since I first learned of this priest I asked for his messages (and visions) from him directly. It is bad enough that alleged seers may not fully understand what they are being told or shown by God but when the information is not recorded properly it becomes a maze. I have only watched one video from one of Father Michel's presentations and then when I saw the page associated to that particular video on the Countdown site there was far more "quotes" supposedly from Father Michel posted under the video. I really couldn't understand what was going on there some quotes were from the video and other statements were included that I felt I could not be certain were directly from this priest.

I truly would love to read his statements unedited. I stated above that I walked away from his messages when he mentioned the AC but with all of the controversy that has surrounded this priest I really, really would like to read all of his messages and visions from him directly. I am beginning to wish that I remember my French from HS and college.+

    ***

I just went back to the Countdown page to post their update on Father Michel Rodrigue here once again to possibly help with some of the confusion:

    Why Fr. Michel Rodrigue?
Regarding Priest, Exorcist, Founder and Superior General of The Apostolic Fraternity of Saint Benedict Joseph Labre (founded in 2012)

On April 23rd, 2020, Fr. Michel Rodrigue informed us that his bishop, Rev. Gilles Lemay, does not support Fr. Michel's messages; he stated to Fr. Michel, in writing, that he does not support the idea of "the Warning, the chastisements, the third World War, the Era of Peace, any construction of refuges, et cetera." Fr. Michel, wishing to remain obedient, has asked Countdown to the Kingdom to remove any mention on this website of his bishop's support of his messages, which we have done.

Please note that, although we now know that Bishop Lemay "does not support" Fr. Michel's messages, it remains true that the messages are nevertheless not condemned. There has been no formal inquiry into Fr. Michel’s locutions/visions etc. by the diocese and so, at this point, we are preserving them here on Countdown to The Kingdom (with Fr. Michel's express permission) because our position regarding them remains unchanged; we continue to find them important to be discerned by the Body of Christ since they constitute part of the “prophetic consensus” of seers all over the world. We will as always, however, fully submit to any formal declarations the Church may pronounce in the future. Also, no previous statements posted on this website were intended to imply that Fr. Michel's messages had his Bishop's explicit approval; only that Fr. Michel himself, as a priest in good standing, enjoyed the support of his Bishop. Fr. Michel’s statement that he “tells everything” to the Bishop does not, therefore, mean that the Bishop endorses any or all of Fr. Michel’s messages.
    ...

I don't believe that we have direct access to the letter from Rev. Gilles Lemay to Fr. Michel Rodrigue or do we?

I came across this new article about him on Mystic Post from yesterday. I am not sure that it has been posted here yet.
