I do believe her writings are genuine. Looking at France right now and it is obvious. I must get a few.
Yes, I think if people go back and research Mari Julie and her writings they might have a very great deal more confidence in the Purple Scapular. Especially given what is going down in the world today. In other words her prophesies have and are quite clearly coming true..and this is, after all the bottom line. It is true some supposed mystics are false or doubtful but Marie Julie is 100% pure gold. I think the difficulty sometimes comes when people like her to not fit into a person's particular agenda. I am a little surprised to hear Catholics doubt her for she is right up there near the top of the list really. I fully understand that they are very, very, very scary indeed. But the fact that something is very, very, very scary indeed does not mean it is not true. Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. My understanding is that her Prophecies and Devotions have full Church approval. Given at the time by the Bishop of Nantes, Monsigneur Fournier.
Yes, Bishop Fournier declared Marie-Julie’s stigmata and ecstasies were of a supernatural order. What has not happened yet is that her cause for canonization has not been taken up. http://www.mysticsofthechurch.com/2015/07/marie-julie-jahenny-breton-stigmatist.html
Here is a most interesting list of people whose Cause for Canonisation has been recently introduced. So many modern people! It is important to recall that the Church does not make people saints. They are already saints and the Church merely declares that they are what they are: https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmXoypizjW3Wkn...P1mXWo6uco/wiki/Candidates_for_Sainthood.html
Joseph Müller (priest) Joseph Müller in the 1920s Joseph Müller (19 August 1894 – 11 September 1944) was a German Catholic priest and critic of the Nazi regime. He was tried by the "People's Court" and executed at Brandenburg-Görden Prison. Life Müller was born in Salmünster, Hesse, the youngest of seven children of the local cantor and teacher Damien Müller and his wife Augusta. After obtaining his Abitur degree, he served as a volunteer in World War I, interrupted by a serious injury. After the war he resolved to become a preacher; two of his brothers also were ordained Catholic priests. He went on to study theology at the University of Münster and proceeded with his brother Oskar to the Diocese of Hildesheim. Both attended the Hildesheim seminary from 1921 and received the holy orders from Bishop Joseph Ernst in the following year. Joseph Müller began his ecclesiastical career as a chaplain in Duderstadt. In 1924 he joined the Franciscan convent at Fulda, but later continued to work as chaplain in Gehrden, Hannoversch Münden, Celle, and Wolfenbüttel. In 1931 he was installed as a priest in Bad Lauterberg. From 1934 he served as a priest in Süpplingen, from October 1937 in Heiningen. Due to his deteriorated health, he served in the small Catholic parish of Groß Düngen from 1 August 1943 onwards. Though of frail physical condition, Müller was known as an inspiring orator, speaking frankly to his congregation. He was devoted to spritiual guidance, especially of young workers according to the teachings of Adolph Kolping. After the Nazi seizure of power in 1933, his youth work had to cope with increasing repressions by the government authorities and his activities were monitored by the Gestapo. According to the 2007 documentary Laughing with Hitler, Müller was arrested after repeating a political joke about a wounded soldier on his deathbed, who asked to see the people for whom he was laying down his life. The nurse laid a portrait of Hitler on his one side, a portrait of Göring on the other. Then, he gasped: "Now I can die like Jesus Christ." Müller was interrogated and temporarily taken into custody on 6 September 1943 under charges of comparing Hitler and Göring with the two criminals crucified alongside Jesus Christ. Temporarily released, local Nazi officials urged for his re-arrest on 15 May 1944 and deported to the Moabit remand prison in Berlin. Though he was interrogated by any methods at disposal, he did not reveal who told him the joke. He was brought to the "People's Court" and sentenced to death for Wehrkraftzersetzung by judge Roland Freisler in a show trial on 28 July 1944. Joseph Müller was executed by guillotine in Brandenburg-Görden Prison on September 11. Legacy Since the end of World War II, each year on the anniversary of Müller's death, a bell is tolled at his former parish church in the village of Groß Düngen. His ashes were transferred to the local cemetery in November 1945. On May 2016, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hildesheim opened his cause of martyrdom, earning him the title Servant of God.[1][2] Authority control WorldCat Identities VIAF: 231967737 GND: 102010659X References ↑ http://newsaints.faithweb.com/year/1944.htm#Muller ↑ https://www.bistum-hildesheim.de/ This article is issued from Wikipedia - version of the 11/26/2016. I'll be ordering one soon I found somewhere they have one. But if the warning happened this Holy week. It won't make it in time.
Oh no - that's the way they come. I ordered some a few years back (after reading an earlier thread on the forum about Marie-Julie Jahenny and reading a book about her) and I can assure you, those scapulars are that big! Big problems require big scapulars, I suppose!
I ordered one for our home this past Christmas because I thought it would be good to have one in case things got bad... little did I know I’d need it this soon!
Hi. I'm new to this purple scapular stuff. Can't see anything wrong with it, prayers seem good. She was approved by her local Bishop. I think I should get one, but I can't buy any anywhere. So I thought I might try and make one. Problem is, I can get pure wool felt of a violet purple colour. But here in Australia I can't get dark red flannel. When I look up the definition of flannel, I can see that it's meaning has changed, and that what is called flannel now may not be flannel. One entry said that flannel in the US is actually flannelette elsewhere....I'm quite stumped with what to do. I can get plenty of flannelette, but is it the right material? Any helpful suggestions from you guys? Thanking you in Advance. God bless. JMJ+
Mine is purple felt, and it is that Lenten color purple, deep. One side has a red flannelette insignia.
I was trying to make my own, and I've been able to source the pure wool felt, but not the red flannel. Our Lady says to use dark red flannel on one side, with the sponge, nails and chalice with crosses all in red on the dark red background. Heaven knows how I'm going to do the image on the other side, but I'll find a way. God will help So the red flannel is actually a felt in the bought purple scapulars? I'm still worried about the flannel. Would flannelette do? I'm sure these materials were chosen because they were quite common and easy for people at that time to access. Do you think it will matter if I use a flannelette since I cannot buy red flannel? Also, it says the straps must be of wool too. Are the straps of thebought one wool too? Just curious, and trying to do it right.
i think flannelette is a thin flannel So yes, use it. That’s what used on mine. The straps are not wool. They are the same type of lightweight smooth cord that is usually on the Brown Scapular. Let me know how it goes. Thanks
Dear friends in Christ, This is a wonderful scapular. All the on-line shops are sold out of it as far as I can see. My wife wants to make one but I don't think we can buy the material as all shops must remain closed, with few exceptions. I wish I'd known about this earlier. I'm quite interested in Jabenny but I had missed this info until yesterday. God bless you all. Our family has started praying a full Rosary daily and we put Divine Mercy images on our doors and some windows.
I too have the Divine Mercy image on my doors. I believe this is a powerful witness and protection. God bless you and your family.
