    I agree.
If we truly believe that God is our Creator, and the only One who decides whether we live or die, we would not fear.
    Everything is in His hands.

But for love of Him, we would want more than anything else, to be present at the foot of the cross during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and to receive His Flesh and Blood in Holy Communion.

Well God is in charge. He wants us to join Him at the Mass, The Eternal Sacrifice at the Foot of the Cross a million times more than we do.

I am sure He's working on it.:)

We'll just have to offer it up, Trust and be patient.:)

I think part of the problem is so many Sacriligeous and blashphemous masses, too amny hosts stolen for Satanic Rites. Giving communion to public adulterers and baby killers didn't help things along any.

    This is really awful.
What message is conveyed to everyone?

That worship of God is not essential.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is not essential.

That we will obey man, before God.

    :(

Of course also, many, many , many of the priests, Bishops and Cardinals who celebrate Mass are paedophiles, sexual perverts or men of no Faith whatsoever

(I would strongly suspect most of the Carinials Pope Fracnis appointed fall into these classes one way or another)

..being a perverts eems almost to e precondition to getting the Red Hat under this present Pontiff.

As Jesus said to one visionary,

'I do not come down to the Altar to be crucified anew by these butchers'.

    Another example of the madness.

Ontario Catholic churches locked, beer and pot stores stay open
It is not clear at this point exactly what health authority ordered the closure of churches in particular regions, and specifically in Toronto.

    From Cardinal Burke's
Message on the Combat against the Coronavirus, COVID-19
    On MAR 21, 2020
    https://www.cardinalburke.com/presentations/combat-against-coronavirus

"In considering what is needed to live, we must not forget that our first consideration is our relationship with God. We recall the words of Our Lord in the Gospel according to John: “If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we come to him and make our home with him” (14, 23). Christ is the Lord of nature and of history. He is not distant and disinterested in us and the world. He has promised us: “I am with you always, to the close of the age” (Mt 28, 20). In combatting the evil of the coronavirus, our most effective weapon is, therefore, our relationship with Christ through prayer and penance, and devotions and sacred worship. We turn to Christ to deliver us from pestilence and from all harm, and He never fails to respond with pure and selfless love. That is why it is essential for us, at all times and above all in times of crisis, to have access to our churches and chapels, to the Sacraments, and to public devotions and prayers."
    [.....]

In our totally secularized culture, there is a tendency to view prayer, devotions and worship like any other activity, for example, going to the cinema or to a football game, which is not essential and therefore can be cancelled for the sake of taking every precaution to curb the spread of a deadly contagion. But prayer, devotions and worship, above all, Confession and the Holy Mass, are essential for us to remain healthy and strong spiritually, and for us to seek God’s help in a time of great danger for all. Therefore, we cannot simply accept the determinations of secular governments, which would treat the worship of God in the same manner as going to a restaurant or to an athletic contest. Otherwise, the people who already suffer so much from the results of the pestilence are deprived of those objective encounters with God Who is in our midst to restore health and peace.

    [.....]

We bishops and priests need to explain publicly the necessity of Catholics to pray and worship in their churches and chapels, and to go in procession through the streets and ways, asking God’s blessing upon His people who suffer so intensely. We need to insist that the regulations of the State, also for the good of the State, recognize the distinct importance of places of worship, especially in time of national and international crisis. In the past, in fact, governments have understood, above all, the importance of the faith, prayer and worship of the people to overcome a pestilence.

Even as we have found a way to provide for food and medicine and other necessities of life during a time of contagion, without irresponsibly risking the spread of the contagion, so, in a similar way, we can find a way to provide for the necessities of our spiritual life.

I can't watch this or the mass on the weekend. I become very sad and forlorn and I know that is not what God wishes at a time like this with a family under my care. So I can't watch it.

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Hold on to the precious Faith of our fathers. There were times when they could not attend Holy Mass, even risked their lives if they were caught.

We are finding out first hand how precious the Sacraments are in our lives. And for those with young families, it must be very scary wondering how it will all affect the children. Trust Jesus, He really does care about the children. I wonder if this is going to be God's way to help the children. When you think of how the governments are imposing gender bender ideologies in schools, it makes us want to beg God to bring a stop to such utter corruption of young minds.

Thank you for this post. Cardinal Burke has been a rock in these times. He is to me, the wise, holy, kind example we hope to see in all the senior Church figures. Thank You Heavenly Father for Cardinal Burke, who speaks the Truth and fills us with new hope each time we hear him. God bless all Priests senior or junior who seek ways to help the flock in this storm. Thank you SgCatholic for bringing these inspired words at a time when we need inspiration.

No, you are not. I get angry thinking about it so I try to focus on each day and what God might have in mind for me and hopefully having the grace I need to know when I see it that this is all part of His plan. I know that I have to remain calm for my family so I try not to get too worked up one way or the other. I'ts just that I can't fathom that what we are seeing is the faith handed down through the ages. It's just impossible for me to see how He will use this to his Glory but I tell myself I have faith that He will. I know that my understanding is limited. God can conquer all things to His good.
Then I remember the book that both Pope Francis and Pope Benedict recommended. Lord of the World. In it the priests have all but given up and many have renounced their faith and followed the Lord of the World. The remaining Church is virtually powerless to the masses of humanity and its desires. Some of the faithful are shut ins and the priests hide their identities in public so they are not assaulted traveling to them.
This is I think what the leaders of this present world have in mind to come. This is a small taste of that now so we better get to know or figure out who will stick this out when it gets really severe because I don't think that there will be many who will embrace the cross. There is a Priest in the area that I am aware of (unless they are being very cautious about things) who immediately offered to the members of the parish the sacraments in a private setting by appointment only. The list is incredibly long but I'm more than willing to break the stay home order. Thankfully the members are thinking of others as well and will give up their place for someone in need. God Bless him for shepherding his flock the best way he can in these times. I admire him.

I completely agree! I sent my Associate Pastor a question yesterday on the idea of someone hosting a private Mass in their home for <10. His heart is traditional.

So why has Pope Francis not taken to the streets processing Our Lord?! Yes, that is more rhetorical.

    From today's Vespers:

    Joel 2:17
Between the porch and the altar the priests the Lord's ministers shall weep, and shall say: Spare, O Lord, spare thy people: and give not thy inheritance to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them.

Oh geeezz, makes you feel as though this could be our future...beyond this current virus. The only control we have is prayer...but we should not be surprise at any of this. Didn’t we see this coming for some time? Now it’s reality...that is still going to take time to absorb.
