It's not yet the Feast of the Annunciation where I live, but since it probably is where some people on here live, I figured I'd post this now. Happy Feast of the Annunciation! Today is the day Our Lady said "yes!" to the Salvation of us all!
Loved this from my morning reflection and hoping it inspires you as well, especially during these times: One of the constant refrains of the Gospel is Jesus’ admonition: “Do not be afraid.” When the Lord draws near, our natural tendency is to be afraid. We can be afraid of his presence. We can be afraid of what he might ask of us. We can be afraid of our own limitations in the face of the call to true conversion and holiness of life. We can be afraid of the apparent obstacles along the path of Christian discipleship. Like Mary, we need to overcome our fear by embracing God’s will with faith and love. As our confidence in God increases, our fear decreases. As our love increases, our fear disappears. Of what am I afraid in my relationship with the Lord? Am I surrendering my fear by giving myself in faith?
https://www.facebook.com/pg/pinecrestacademy/posts/?ref=page_internal Parental pride is sneaking in here. My son, Fr. Patrick, was the principle celebrant in his Community's celebration of this great Marian feast, the Annunciation. He even mentions his Mom in his homily. For me, this is the way a Novus Ordo should be celebrated with some parts sung in Latin and replete with Marian hymns. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Pinecrest is a good conservative Catholic school in our area and yes that is the way Novus Ordo should be celebrated!
As our confidence in God increases, our fear decreases. As our love increases, our fear disappears. So True!
Amen! Hope, Gratitude, Perfect Charity to cast out fear, that's what I'm working on this Feast Day, and how I will honour Jesus and Mary!
