This speaks volumes. And the intense penance the children took on after that vision certainly show the profound effect of it. Jacinta would go into deep silences Lucia told us. And then cry out "hell! Hell! we must pray!" She was six years old!
Parents today try to shield children from the price of sin and the reality of hell. Yet, Mother Mary, the ultimate Mama, did not. Just saying.
Yes I agree, parents as well as religious educators do shield the children. Our little ones are being protected from the Truth. I have a grandson who made his first confession yesterday. Sin is minimized, hell is never mentioned, prayers do not need to be memorized, and they had a party with presents afterwards. Let's just say my first confession was a world apart from my grandsons.

Exactly! Teach your children about hell....if you don’t, they may wind up there. Far better that they know the truth.... Heaven knows they are exposed to everything evil....they shouldn’t be shielded from reality!
garabandal, Beautiful photo, I never saw this one before. I looked for a video of old photos from the apparitions and I didn't come across the one that I was thinking of but I found this one which remarkably contains your photo above also.
It amazes me how little known Fatima is outside of Catholic circles. I understood people having trouble believing in miracles from thousands of years ago, but this one was predicted and massive and documented by independent news sources. I bring this one up online if I ever discuss the supernatural with non believers
It Is also sad that many Catholics do not know about Fatima! When do you ever hear it discussed in your church other than from a few lay folks? I purchased the film “Miracle at Fatima” and gave them to the catholic schools in my city because I felt it might be the only way these children would ever know or hear about Fatima. Most of the teachers don’t know about Fatima. I guess this is up to us to spread the word. This event was one of the greatest miracles in church history...Our Lady needs us to teach the world about it. Buy the film...start in your own home...then share it with your catholic schools. I first saw it as a six year old in my catholic school....it planted a seed that stayed with me for life! Praise Jesus!
Actually, i love Fatima so much that I’d share this everyday if folks wouldn’t get sick of me talking about it. I have a hard time understanding why everyone doesn’t feel the same....but, they tolerate me
