Padraig, Thanks. Oops, I missed this. I'm sure that this was well televised on CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN, etc. all of which I almost never watch. In addition, I try to watch less television in general because it uses electricity which creates CO2. (I am just kidding about this but I always try to mindful of things like this anyway.) Greta could have still used Skype instead of missing probably a month of school. Plus the human energy required to sail across the Atlantic Ocean and all of the CO2 (flatulence) that would be created as a result is still probably less than a quick Skype session would have created.

I think the thing about the Global Warming thing is that it reminds me of kind of Religion. We wil save the planet if we do the right things (Heaven) and we#ll all die horribly if we do the wrong things (Hell). It reminds me a lot of Puritanism. Lots of zeal, virtue signalling and looking down noses. But perhaps I am being unkind. Perhaps there really is such a thing as Global Warming. it just strikes me as a very convenient hypothesis for assisting mass population control.

It is interesting that Macron and his environment minister have taken a strong line against Greta. The French environment minister even accused her of spreading hatred and fomenting division. This is good, because they realise that extremism of this kind is only going to turn a lot of people against the green agenda. So, maybe it's best she keep it up.
