The beleaguered bishop of Buffalo, Richard Malone, is now facing furious calls for his resignation.

I'm not so sure that Michael Voris deserves all the credit for this. Reading this interview he gave to the National Catholic Register, it looks like Charlie Specht was the the person who did the spade work on what was happening in the diocese: https://www.ncregister.com/daily-ne...x-abuse-scandal-is-perfect-storm-of-horrible-

The people at Church Militant do deserve credit for reporting about the abuse and cover ups when other Catholic media shied away from it. It's a pity, however, that they tend toward tabloid type journalism.

Here's a link to the latest Register article on what's happening in Buffalo and other dioceses: https://www.ncregister.com/daily-ne...over-up-allegations-will-vos-estis-be-applied There are links embedded in the article which lead to previous reports with details of how it all unfolded.

After watching some of the interviews, listening to some of the tapes and reading some of the reports, I wouldn't care to see any of them (either alleged abusers or alleged victims) ministering in my own parish, and the whole sordid business helps me understand how difficult it must be for a Bishop trying to deal with the rotten fruits of decades of corruption particularly in seminaries.

Also, although I understand that secretly taping conversations is sometimes necessary for self-protection or where criminal activity is involved, something about what was going on there seems less than ethical, and not just on the part of the Bishop. There appears to be a default implication that the priest abuser had dirt on the Bishop, but there could be other reasons for the Bishop dragging his heels. The seminarian's mother said something about Nowak taking notes of people's sins and alluding to something going on with the confessional.

Everybody wants the bad priests gone but nobody wants to see their own parish closed down. What if the decades of corruption in a diocese has resulted in a large number or even a majority of unsuitable priests? If you were the Bishop in such a scenario, would you have what it takes to do a quick clear-out and face all the canonical appeals and possible lawsuits from dismissed priests along with complaints from parishioners of closed down parishes not to mention the media attention? I'm not sure that I would.

No Dolours me either. I am sad about how Bishop Malone has failed the Church but who knows what he found when he got there? He was sent there by Pope BXVI to clean things up but it was a heavy task obviously. I do not defend his handling of everything but I do not believe there was any malice in him or in his actions. As you say what would we have done? There is something ugly about this whole thing including secret tapes.

**EXCLUSIVE** Buffalo’s Bare-Chested Buddies: The Secret Love Letter the Media is Hiding

Worth more than a thousand words: Buffalo's Rev. Ryszard Biernat (r) having fun at the beach
with seminarian lover Matthew Bojanowski (l)

This is what the media did not want you to see.

It's the steamy gay love letter at the heart of everything you have been hearing about in the Diocese of Buffalo.

It obviously has nothing to do with the abuse of minors but it's the reason that the top assistant to Bishop Richard Malone, Rev. Ryszard Biernat, secretly recorded Malone: to distract public attention from Biernat's gay love affair and save his own priesthood.

But now you can see it for yourselves. It's in Biernat's own handwriting to seminarian Matthew Bojanowski in July 2016:

    - Click for **page one**: "Remember? The library of the bishop's house? … What I have been feeling for you is something totally new and different from all the other feelings of love I have experienced … I will always love you more than yesterday …"

    - Click for **page two**: "I will always love you, and if you leave, I'll be O.K. … At this point, I cannot imagine my life without you …"

    - Click for **page three**:"So my beloved Matthew, I hope and pray that you are my 'other 1/2 that walks life's journey with' me!! Forever grateful for loving me first!"

In the hopes of boosting ratings and pumping up his campaign to get rid of Malone, dishonest TV reporter Charlie Specht tried to minimize and downplay the steamy love letter by laughably characterizing it as merely "platonic" … And the sleazy Buffalo News tried to tell readers it was only "an expression of friendship." Some "friendship." … And gadfly "whistlebower" and former diocesan employee Siobhan O'Connor, who is clearly not the "faithful Catholic" that she has made herself out to be, has baldly claimed that the romantic love letter was somehow not even a romantic love letter.

But now, as anyone who can read can see, they all lied to us.

    Now you know the truth.

So in other words Bishop Malone was set up? I'm sick to the back teeth (as Dolours would say) of the whole filthy lot of them. May God have mercy on His Church for the world has no mercy.

That's what it sounds like to me. Then on the other hand we have the MSM hiding the evidence of the blatant sodomite relationship of two priests probably because they are consenting adults and the world just loves the idea of sodomite priests giving us the sacraments.

I have become more rigid...if you protect evil. Then you are evil. You have no place leading the church. If you Lie to protect evil, then you are no different then the created one. The liar. No more! If you protect evil, you are not for God!

I'm not sure if that was completely fair Don. I actually knew Siobhan O'Connor in high school. I attended Christendom College high school summer camp one year and she (as a Christendom College student chaperone/mentor for us high schoolers) was assigned to my dorm. In fact, I was the odd girl out and so we actually bunked together for the camp. She is not an aggressive personality type, and imho tends to see things through rose colored glasses. Me -I've always been loud and aggressive , so I found her quite boring and too quiet. She has a nurturing soul, and a mothering heart though I believe she has never married to my knowledge. She has been very involved in the prolife movement her whole life, which is more than I can say for most of the bishops in this country. I had not read what you posted before, about her saying that the above letter wasn't romantic, but if she did I very much believe that it didn't come from a deceitful heart. We live in hard times indeed.

It's not only that they do such things, its that they have utterly, totally no shame whatsoever about it. The only thing they are concerned about is is getting caught out.
