I think this video documentary was one of the most touching I have ever seen in my life. Immaculee forging her families killers and even forgiving and misistering to one of them is astounding. I was off work all day getting ready for the nightshift. So I had plenty of time to pray over it. The thing that hits me about Kibeho is Our Lady saying it is not just for Rwanda or Africa but for the world. So then the Warning about violence and lack of peace..what happened in Africa can happen to us..and will ..unless we change. Unless we change we will destroy ourselves. Only God can save us.
I watched all 7 videos. I remember the headline: There are no devils in hell anymore. They're all in Rwanda. Disturbing how it all went down. According to the woman on the interview, the one who survived by hiding out in a tiny bathroom for 91 days and withered away to a mere 65 pounds), the Tutsi and Hutu tribes were artificially created in the 1930s by the Belgians as a way to gain political support. Rwandas were issued ethic identification cards and oftentimes members of the same family were assigned to different tribes. One brother might be labeled as Hutu and another brother might be called a Tutsi. Fast forward fifty years and the people have lost perspective, forgetting that they're really brothers, and thanks to a carefully crafted media attack against the Tutsi, where they're constantly bashed and called evil, the unthinkable occurs after the president dies in a plane crash (which many believe was no accident). Neighbors begin to kill neighbors as the radio eggs them on. Hutu pull Tutsi from their homes, killing entire families. Over a million people are murdered over a three month period. There are so many corpses they rot in the street. The Virgin Mary had warned that terrible things would happen if people didn't return to God. They didn't and it happened. She said that her warning wasn't just for Rwanda, but for the whole world. That's sobering. Nobody believed it would happen in Rwanda, and certainly not so fast, with so many dead. Is Rwanda a cautionary tale of about worse things to come if people don't repent? Is something similar going to happen on an even larger scale? Sometimes it doesn't seem possible, but other times it seems totally plausible.
I noticed, Deanna that most of the killings were done in or near the Churches. The people fled there because they thought they would be safe. They cited one Church were five thousand people were murdered; another were ten thousand died. I was particularly sad that in a strongly Catholic country (65%) it was very often Catholics killing fellow Catholics and some of the ring leaders were Catholic priests and nuns. One of the war criminals was shown in full clerical dress at his trial. Yuk. I also noted one of the visionaries was the only one to survie a mass attack on a Catholic Church during mass. The priest told the congregation to prepare spiritually as they were all about to die, to recall all their sins and tell God they were sorry. She stood beside me with the chalice as he gave out communion for the last time. The butchers knocked down holes in the church walls and threw in hand grenades and shot the people then came in to finish them all of. 10.000 people just imagine. The biggest lesson is for us all . We have much to learn. A chill went through me as someone commented that erhaps Rwanda had got off lightly so that they might convert early....where does that leave us...?
There are so many potential hotspots - Middle East/East Europe; the Korean peninsula; Russia/China; Venezuela/Latin America/ USA etc - potential for worldwide violence and disruption. The heart of man is far from God and we have weapons of mass destruction, unfortunately.
This is absolutely terrifying. I do too believe that the same thing can happen here. I also watched something very disturbing on another video. A revelation regarding the "The Abomination of desolation" spoke in various books in the Bible. 273 people were killed in Syria yesterday. I understand the most abominable atrocities are being commited out there even against children. Much to pray for. Please God Egypt does not explode... Matthew 24:6 New International Version (NIV) 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
I hope they so not use Sarin. I was reading up on it, apparently the NAZIS invented it during the Second World War. Sadam Hussein used it against the Kurds in a town called Halabja and killed 5,000 in a matters of seconds. The UN classes it as a weapon of mass destruction so I am afraid if it is used it will mean a great war almost at once.
