St. Francis met the Sultan in an attempt to convert him to Catholicism. He offered to walk through fire with one of the Sultan's imams as proof of the power of Christ. However, there were no takers among the imams! The Sultan said that, if he were to accept Christ, neither he nor Francis would 'make it' to the door of the tent and declined the invitation to convert, though Francis had obviously made a wonderful impression on him. Our Francis wants to 'dialogue' and certainly not to 'proselytise' (a major sin against ecumenism in the Pope's view, don't you know?). To show the crescent moon of the violent, sex obsessed, mad man, Mohammed, with the cross of Christ is a foul thing and another for which this Pope will have to repent or pay.
I don't know.... the Holy Father really should not have done that, but then, he is a Saint. John Paul II still called out very, very gently for Muslims to come to Christ. Pope Francis needs a *lot* of prayers.
