Eucharistic Miracle in Buffalo?

This could be just another case of red mould on the Host as in Salt Lake City recently but it could be a genuine miracle. However the notorious Bishop Malone (for whose personal benefit, if this is really a miracle, it might have occurred) has said that the Host is to be disposed of and that there will be no investigation!

How sad that some bishops outright dismiss the supernatural! No investigation? The supernatural happens at every Mass! I find that amazing and sad.

So sad, it reminds me of not giving the Holy Family a place at the Inn. It is as if Jesus knocked at the doors and was turned away. What a shame! I do believe it was in fact a true miracle. How sad.

These men must hate Christ, deeply. Imagine being a priest or a bishop and hating Christ....

From the 'Restore DC Catholicism' blog (emphasis mine):

A possible Eucharistic miracle may have occurred at St Vincent de Paul Church in Springbrook, NY. When notified of the miracle, Bishop Malone (yes, him), instead of ordering a proper investigation, ordered that the Host be destroyed. His reasoning? He is quoted as saying, the Host had already dissolved and "Christ was no longer present".

Pictures clearly show the Host intact. Moreover, if the Host truly was already dissolved, there would be nothing left to destroy. Right, Your Excellency???

Bishop Malone's dismissive attitude towards the Blessed Sacrament is deplorable. He may now be guilty of sacrilege against our Eucharistic Lord. One of the commenters on the CM site believes that Malone may have automatically brought about his own excommunication.

The bishop needs to feel some heat for his refusal to follow proper procedures for investigating the possible miracle and for his cavalier attitude towards the Eucharist, leading to probable sacrilege. The diocesan website is here. All readers, no matter where they are, can call and/or email this diocese.

Many faithful Catholics in that area are righteously outraged. In addition to contacting that chancery, I'd suggest a complete boycott of all diocesan donations. I'd suggest that if you see the bishop in person, that you challenge him regarding his brash decisions and derelictions of duty. Let him know that bishops should act like bishops and not crass businessmen.

Okay it looks bad. But I have to repeat. I knew bishop Malone here in Maine. He was--as far as any of us could tell--a good bishop. There is something just wrong here. I cant put my finger on it. He was sent to Buffalo to clean it up. I hope people will understand that there may be layers upon layers here and perhaps a very clever and devious frame up going on. Obviously I don't know this but none of us this heinous information accords with the Bishop as I knew him here.

I've read from other sources as well that he was involved in coverups while in Maine. I have no idea if true or not, but it is claimed by a commenter in an article that he was demanding around $70,000 a year for a TLM while in Maine

Edited to add: this is in fact true, from certain perspectives and highly controversial between opposing viewpoints of those who believe the TLM should be provided alongside the NO and those who do not think this should be the case. I have no wish to start a new argument on this.

I am not sure if it is Bishop Malone or our current Bishop who instituted the "Pay to Pray" here in Maine, but what you state is true. We have one priest in the whole state who does the TLM and we must meet the $70,000 a year to support him or the TLM goes away. That is a total mind you of only 2 Masses in the whole state per week plus First Saturdays.

Wow. I had NO idea. That is horrible. I guess it goes to prove you really cant be sure of any hierarchy rectitude. Look at Cardinal Pell. It is like falling into a B horror movie when all the good people suddenly reveal their reptilian identity. I'm so sad. Truth overload.

This is absolutely outrageous. I have passed this information onto Church Militant and asked them if they are aware of this situation. These rats will be charging us to say the Rosary next. We are in the hands of so many wicked men, God help us!

Fr. Z actually ran an article about it at the time. It's still in his archives somewhere. It is ridiculous. Thanks for passing it on to CM. (y)

It went back easier than that. I was attending g in Portland in the late 90's. A wonderful priest from Cheverus said the Mass. He went on to leave the Jesuits and join the FSSP. I stopped going after that. So maybe they tried to start it up again in 2008. But Bishop Malone...well it's not looking good.:(

Yes, I went to the chapel at the cathedral in the 90's once or twice when there was a TLM introduced there. I think that was sort of a "pilot program". If memory serves it was once a month. I could be wrong about that. The new "Pay to Pray" was for the chaplaincy to do the TLM weekly.
