Here is a place that Our Lady appeared in, 1985, Mount Mellery Grotto, Ireland. The messages here were ominous for all of us in the world. http://www.melleray.com/prayer_and_peace/ What do you think? God Bless
Personally I think, the greatest false prophet of these times that we welcome into our homes every day is the television. Yet in truth, most of us are unwilling to see for we like this false prophet. The television has been responsible for basically destroying the faith and morals of our society. It promotes sin at every flick of the button. The very advertisements are full of half naked or naked people, which promotes this sins of the flesh. The soaps, documentaries, chat shows and films promote sin in devious and strategic ways that change the thinking of the people into accepting sin as an everyday part of life. They promote divorce, adultery, violence, deviousness, homosexuality, anger, lies, lust, abortion, living together outside marriage etc. They've always got a storyline to subtly make us think that we are old-fashioned and need to change our thinking with the times we live in. They have been responsible for the spiritual deaths of so many. Yet we still except this false prophet in our homes. I could go on and on saying and explaining about the different ways that the television promotes sin but I know everyone here can see and understand for themselves. The television breaks everyone of the Commandments everyday as it prophesies its destruction of faith and morals to us. Any documentaries that I see to do with Christianity are basically trying to destroy our faith by explaining everything away through science or psychology. Christians are scorned upon as being out of date and need to change with the times. Yet I who say, that I am a Roman Catholic and believe in the ways of my God still find myself sitting before this false prophet, has it promotes its lies, it's untruths that lucifer pumps into this world everyday. It is frightening I find myself sitting there justifying that I am only looking to see what is going on in the world but in truth I am caught in its clutches. God Bless
Pat, I agree about the TV and you said it well. Although I have to say, when I first had my conversion, and my husband had left me, I was SO comforted by EWTN, and had it on all the time. The devotions shown there, that I would participate with, helped me to re-learn all my childhood devotions I had forgotten, and that none of my few contemporary Catholic friends in my area seemed to know. I usually watch that, and HGTV alot, but am so disapointed by HGTV with all their gay lifestyles they are promoting. I suppose its the same with the internet now, you have to be really careful what sites you are involved in just as monitoring the channels on the TV.
Woe, I just read The Message of Our lady of La Salette. I see so much in the message of the times now and passed and there is so much more to come. We are so blessed and honoured to be alive in this time to be chosen to help those of God's children that have fallen away from the Way of His Truth. My life should be a constant sacrifice to, Jesus, of prayer, sacrifice and good works, to help my brothers and sisters. The temptations of this world are so great and so easy to fall into because of the blindness of self and the message said it all. What a message of truth. http://www.catholicapologetics.info/catholicteaching/privaterevelation/lasalet.html Thank you, Mary Our Mother, for the Grace of these Words of Truth. Thank you, Jane. God Bless
When Our Lady first appeared in La Salette, the children saw Her with Her face in Her hands. She was crying. Our Mother was crying, because of two grave and very common sins. 1. Blasphemy 2. Not honoring Sundays, as days set aside for The Lord to rest and attend Holy Mass. After the apparitions of La Salette, the people did change. Blasphemy stopped and people returned to church and rested on Sundays. This was in 1846. What is wrong with us? What is wrong with me? How did we as the human race fall back into this sin? Why didn't we learn? Why didn't our parents before us guide us and tell us we will make Our Blessed Mother cry. I have been guilty of not keeping The Lord's day holy. I now do my best to keep it Holy. I do find it very offencive when I hear The Lord blasphemed. But when I hear it out of school children, I feel as if the world is lost.
When I first read the message of La Sallette, I made a conscious decision to try to keep the sabbath a Holy day. I try my best now to refrain from doing housework of any kind & I try to attend extra services like Holy Hour. I hate to hear anyone blaspheming or swearing which is an everyday occurance especially in the workplace (I have even reprimanded my female supervisor for continually taking Our Lord's name in vain). Everyone seems to do it without thinking. I have a colleague who uses a particular swear word which I hate & when I asked him not to say it, he just said it more to annoy me (He is a practising Catholic too) As my prayerlife has increased, I've noticed that tv does not have the same "appeal" anymore & I've stopped watching soaps as more "gay" storylines were introduced. However, especially in the lead up to Christmas, the biggest temptation is Sunday shopping. I know that will be a failing of mine no matter how I try to justify it. I know that it has a big impact on family life as more parents are forced to work on this day & more employers treat it as an ordinary day now. We have all let this happen but one thing we have to stop is Christmas Day being treated as an ordinary day. Last year 1 or 2 large supermarket chains in this area opened on Christmas Day but if people didn't use them, there would be no demand. We have to stop this becoming the "Norm". Please may we all make a conscious effort to uphold & keep our Christian values.
I always mean not to do housework on Sunday and always fail. I must try harder. Pere Lamy (+1931) said that the First World War War had three causes; Blasphemy, Sunday labour and the desecration of marriage. Pere Lamy.
My evening of last Christmas was horrible! One of my brothers, (who had been to church in the morning) had the delight of trying to upset me by saying.. "Jesus probably had lots of girlfriends, and who says he never got married, and he was a sinner too, he lost his temper in the temple." He talked about "Jesus probably having brothers and sisters too". He did this just to upset me. But what he didn't realise, I was more upset for Jesus and Mary. Some people look at us as self righteous. They don't realise how critical we are of ourselves, how sinful we see ourselves. This blasphemy must be the most painful for the Lord. How many tears were shed by The Virgin when hearing this? Carfin Grotto. Promise me this. Do NOT go Christmas shopping on Sundays. We have about 11 weeks until Christmas. That is about 11 Sundays about 66 other days, so leave those 11 days for The Lord.
Secret given to Melanie from Our Lady of La Salette.... "Bad books will abound over the earth, and the spirit of darkness will everywhere spread universal relaxation in everything concerning God's service: they will have very great power over nature; there will be churches to serve these spirits. People will be transported from one place to another by these evil spirits, and even priests, because they will not have lived by the good spirit of the gospel, which is a spirit of humility, charity and zeal for the glory of God." What does Our Lady mean by these words? I interpret it like this.... "Bad books" meaning books, TV, media having so little concern on God's rules. But they have power over us all, and there will be churches who relax their ways to keep the media and the people happy. I believe Pat333 sees the false prophet as being the media. Is it? Or is there more? "People will be transported from one place to another by these evil spirits, and even priests" Help me out here everyone, because I can't help but see this as people and priest traveling from one false Marion place to another. Or just traveling from home to a false Marion place. But I do see this as being Medjugore. But I suppose you have to know the priests. If you know the priests VERY WELL, has he been living by 'good spirit of humility, charity and zeal for the glory of God', then that eliminates that theory. But I suppose we have to ask. How well do we know someone? This is how I interpret it. But you may see it totally different. If you do, please give me your interpretation, so I am not so closed minded.
Jane, I feel for you. If you are with your brother this Christmas and he begins the same thing to get a reaction. Simply see him as a little child of God, smile at him and tell him that you love him and serve him to the best of your ability. Do not react to anything that is said but say a silent prayer within your heart and continue smiling and loving him. Then it will be he that goes away thinking and feeling guilty when he has not got the desired reaction. More important you will have planted the seeds of love within his heart. Jesus said love your enemy do good to those who persecute you. The things that your brother said are simply like a selfish child saying spiteful things out of jealousy to get a reaction. Do not worry about your brother for by your actions you can plant the seeds of love within his heart and he to will become a warrior of the truth. Remember Jesus and Mary, see us as children and they would have looked upon your brother as a naughty child having a temper tantrum. Love is our greatest weapon, that we Christians many times fail to see. Love flows from the Hearts of Jesus and Mary when we pray and sacrifice. So we are filled with the grace of Love by our actions and can pass this grace on to those whom we meet around us. Then Jesus and Mary, will not be sad or upset as they will look upon the events unfold, they will have joy in their hearts for they will see that one of their followers has begun to love with their love. Your brother is a little child of God and he will come to know him in truth. Believe. God Bless
I'm reluctant in bringing up this subject, as it seems to be happening on other threads. I thought about it last night, and I thought, it doesn't really matter if people believe or not, as long as they are living the messages. But for some reason or other I will. As I did promise Chrissie. I want to talk about the things that are putting doubt in your heads regarding GARABANDAL. Steve, Chrissie, talk to me. In fact, anyone else who have doubts. Let's talk. I will be patient with you. I will be as open minded as I can, and in return, you do the same. This is the reason I opened the thread. To talk about prophecies, so we can help each other. Not to be "you're wrong, I'm right." I struggle with Medjugorje. I believe in Garabandal. I have questioned Garabandal, I don't know why? Satan will work on all of us. Please don't put too many problems up at once. Maybe one at a time. But if we can skip the "3 pope" thing, as that has already been covered on 'Garabandal news' thread. All I can add to it is...It has confused many, but it doesn't change a thing. As I said before, my book said 'no 4 popes' and this was before the death of Pope JP 11. Chrissie, you might say 'fantasy', but I am just stating the facts. So I ask to skip the 3 pope thing. But if you need to, let's talk about it, but let's not go around in circles. I have been to Garabandal only twice. May 2012 and July 2011. I would be there every month if I lived in Europe. But being an Australian it takes 2 days to get there plus about $2500 in travel. Let me know if you have been there or not. Chrissie, Steve, doubters. Let's talk.
Rare interview with Malachi Martin. Malachi Martin discusses the proliferation of new Marian apparitions. Everyone here know my opinion about Medjugorje, I am not alone and I have thought that this thread from Jane was the place where to add this rare interview about Malachi Martin, interview with us since years now, so please do not jump on me and any one is free to have the same opinion about Garabandal as well, thank you. Aviso
Keep in mind, according to a letter from the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, 25 June 1997, Prot. N. 04300/65 . . . Martin left the Jesuits and perhaps the priesthood all together. Although there is some dispute about it, it appears he underwent a laicisation. It doesn't mean what he says in the video is wrong, but I'm always a little wary when I see him used as a reference. I've cited him at times myself though . . . just saying . On to another subject . . . I too have reservations about Garabandal and Medjugorie, but I haven't totally dismissed them either. True seers do not add or take away anything from the deposit of faith. If a person lives as the church teaches, he's already living according to the advice of any heaven-sent prophet. Sure, apparitions are a great tool to ignite the interest of non-believers, to light a fire under the lukewarm, or to energize the faithful . . . but they are only reminders of the messages already there in scripture, tradition and so on. So my eyebrows raise when I see people "preach" an apparition if it's the gospel itself, treating fellow Catholics who don't believe in a particular apparition, as if they're rejecting Christianity itself.
Jane: I shall take you up on your offer. I posted this question in the Garabandal thread. I'm sorry, it's about the '3 Popes' problem. I have been through the Garabandal news thread but I cannot remember reading something there that got me to overcome the point which I now repeat here. You say it has confused many. So it needs to be unconfused. And how can it not change a thing. In the last month or so I have read (on-line) the book "She Went in Haste to the Mountain" In the book is noted the interview by Fr Laffineur which has Conchita answering: "After Paul IV there remain only two Popes. Following that the 'end of times', which is not the same as 'the end of the world' " How do those of you who believe in Garabandal explain this?
Hi Jerry. No need to apologize. It's bothering you, so why not ask? First, maybe I am lucky. I heard about Garabandal when I was about 18 yrs. That was some 30 yrs ago.. I believed through watching the video. But I did not really understand or live the messages. Unfortunately, it was left there without anyone discussing it with me. I was a teenager who was enjoying that selfish life in which teenagers do. Then I got married and had children. I was busy! So the prophecies of Garabandal was put on the back burner. Then 3 years ago Oct 2009, something came up in conversation that made me think about Garabandal. I sort of remembered the 3 pope thing, and thought things must be close. I went on the computor that night to see what I could find on it. Ofcourse there's everything on the internet. I was converted. That week I bought the DVD and read the book. From that time I knew I had to change. Mass became a daily thing rather than a 20 times a year thing. I saw the '3 pope' thing and I couldn't explain it. Believe it or not, I had to read the book twice before I picked up on where Conchita said "no, 4 popes, as one won't really count." This book was printed in 2001, during Pope JP11. So it wasn't said after JP11 had died as a way to cover up. My explaination for this is. Conchita was told one Pope won't reign long, so it doesn't really count. And let's face it Pope JP1 didn't have a chance to count, or have any impact for the church. So I believe the problem is in the headlines "3 Popes" rather than the message. So let's say instead of the headlines saying 3 popes, it says 4 more popes. What does it mean? Does it mean 4 more and then the warning? Does it mean 4 more and then catastrophe? Then after that there will be another? Does it mean 4 more and then we are on our own? Who knows? Now I am not that knowledgeable on many things. But have you noticed in the history of the Bible, we have been told prophecies. They never seem to be that easy to understand. They are given to us in a way that makes us question. Remember Jesus spoke in parables! We still think in human ways. Not easy to change when we are only human! Jerry or anyone, if you have doubts, surely with an open heart and mind you can overcome this "3 Pope" thing! Is this the only problem? Or is there something else that doesn't sit right with you? If there are other problems, please let's talk about it. We are all wanting the same thing. None of us want to follow the false prophet. It is our duty to want to help each other.
Hi Jane.. - may I ask the names of the authors of the book you are referring to above which has Conchita say "no, 4 popes, as one won't really count". O.K. I just edited this post and note on the other thread about Garabandal you name the book as Garabandal (2001) though I have never read it but am wondering what witnesses the authors relied on for the 4 pope quote. I know the 4 pope prediction doesn't come from the book considered most authoritative on Garabandal She Went in Haste because there you will only find quotes along these lines: "After the ecstasy, Conchita told us the Virgin’s response: “After the present (John the 23rd) there were still three popes; after that there would be no more.” p.g. 550 or Conchita “I’m telling you, and I repeat: another pope will come and the Council (Vatican 2) will continue. And I also tell you that only three popes remain . .The Virgin told me that after this Pope (John XXIII) there remain only three; and afterwards, the end of the times" or Conchita to Father Rodrigo: “Yes Father. It’s true. The Virgin told me that after John XXIII only three popes remain, and this one, (Paul VI) is the first of those three." and Conchita to one Mother Garcia "After Paul VI, there will be only two more popes; and then the end of the times will come" ************************************ Jane, these quotes above are all from the authoritative She Went in Haste to the Mountain. Can I ask who the authors of the book called Garabandal are and on whose authority do they claim Conchita said four? They must have had somebody to rely on for this quote and someone more in the know than She Went in Haste. I mean one of the Garabandal sites went to quite the length to produce a movie on Garabandal during JPII's reign asking is JP2 the last Pope prophesied in Garabandal for the end of times? They evidently believed he was based on the three pope prophecy. Conchita was quite adamant as I understand from her statements: basically Three popes and No More! 3 and no more. We're basically beyond that time now unless one wants to start insisting on false popes which I do not wish. I'm just asking for the provenance of this Four Popes quote, as it would quell some of my doubts. The famed Catholic apologist Karl Keating already dismissed Garabandal during JP2's reign stating that there will be popes after JP2 wondering how Garabandalists could possibly explain it away. I am kind of the same mind as the poster "Rain" above though I am more willing at this point to possibly accept Garabandal than Medj but someone pointing me to Conchita stating four popes and that one wouldn't count would help me out because I can't find the source for this apart from your reference to that one book you bought. I cannot understand why such a 4 pope prediction would not have been included in She Went in Haste which has the most information on what the seers said exactly. Thanks for any answer, God Bless, Mike
Hi Mike. Thankyou for being open minded with an open heart. I believe because of this you will find the trueth. I haven't read the book 'she went in haste'. I will read it online once I get a chance. The other thing is, I don't pretend to know it all. Although I do try and be well informed on this subject. I am just like everyone else. I too have questioned Garabandal. Satan likes to do this to us. But then I remind myself on why I should never have doubts. Then doubts disappear straight away. The book I bought from official promoters of Garabandal. Which is written by Jacques Serre - Beatrice Caux. Page 160. Funny. Even though she said in that paragraph "No, four," The title of the paragraph says "The last three Popes" Put yourself in Conchita's 12 year old shoes. Our Lady says one will have a short reign, so maybe Conchita withdrew one Pope away in her own head almost immediately? So 3 Popes is what sticks in her head, because one doesn't really count. I could almost see myself doing the same thing in the same situation. One other thing. If my book happened to get it wrong (which I doubt). And the message was literally "3 more Popes then the end of time" Meaning after JP11, it is the end of time. Can't it be seen that we are now living in the end of time? Have I helped you here? Is this your only problem with the prophecies on Garabandal? Or is there more? Let me know!
Jane, thank you for your attempt to answer the '3 popes' problem. Pat333 has opened a new thread "Three or four Popes". You may wish to read it. What struck me in her answer was how she concluded: "Remember when we stand in front of the throne of God on Judgement Day. He will not ask did you feed the hungry did you clothe the naked did you give the thirsty a drink of water or did you find out if it was three or four popes." When you give your personal testimony that Garabandal has been important to getting you to move a step closer to Jesus, then that will have to be, I think, the best help you can provide in making me and others like me begin to convert.
