No need for offensive language on a Catholic forum. I am sure we have people of many different nationalities here. We are "Catholic" after all. We are family. No need to attempt to debase others.

Cloning horror: Human clone fears as Euro scientists CREATE LIFE from ‘nothing’
SCIENTISTS have created a living embryo in a laboratory without using either egg or sperm in ground-breaking but hugely controversial experiments.

The experimental research combined two types of stem cells
The experimental research combined two types of stem cells and created a viable embryo – which the team say would provide an unlimited stock for medical research.

The created embryos would also be used for medical treatment testing and help shed light on one of the biggest infertility enigmas - why embryos fail to implant in the womb.

However critics say it is a huge step towards human cloning.

The researchers believe the wonder creation could see mice being cloned in three years time, and humans two decades later.

Lead researcher, Professor Nicholas Rivron of Maastricht University, said the main use for the embryos would be to test drugs and solve the infertility riddle.

He said: “As you know, embryos are very precious, and it is impossible to use to test drugs on them as you don’t have the numbers.

“With blastocysts you can open up the numbers. This will allow screening medicines in the future.

“I do not believe in using blastocysts for human reproduction. This is ethically very questionable, this would be clones of somebody who is already alive. Human cloning is totally forbidden.”

Professor Robin Lovell-Badge of the Francis Crick Institute added while the experiment was a huge breakthrough for modern science, it may come as a relief it cannot be replicated in humans yet.

He said: “It may come as a relief to others that such a method of producing many genetically identical human embryo-like structures that might be capable of implantation is not feasible - even if it would be illegal to implant them into women, as is clearly the situation in the UK.”

Cloning continues to fascinate the science world, particularly after Dolly the Sheep made headlines across the globe in 1996.

The ewe lived for six years after being the first mammal cloned by professors at the University of Edinburgh by Keith Campbell and Ian Wilmut.

The animal died five months before her seventh birthday from a progressive lung disease.

  7. I remember a video that was posted here a while ago where a woman had had Jesus show her the future and He showed her people being grown in labs. She said that they didn't have souls and that it was a horror...I think she also said that this would be the last straw for the Boss.

If anyone remembers where that video is I'd like to see it again...I looked on Youtube for it but couldn't find it. It looked like it was from the 90s.

  8. That is what Sondra Abrahams was shown in one of her NDEs. There are various videos of her talks and interviews which I don't have time at the moment to find again. Here is a portion of one account from Mike Brown/Spirit Daily:

And after He reviewed her life with her, says
    Sondra, Christ reviewed the future.
In that preview was euthanasia, which was shown to Sondra as many elderly
dying in hospitals; abortion, which was indicated by the vision of many
babies; and cloning, which, for the longest while -- until she learned the
term for it -- Sondra referred to as "duplication."
"It looked like babies, thousands of babies, in jars that were moving, like
artificial wombs, and it was their eyes," Sondra told Spirit Daily. " It's
always what I remember. The eyes were just dead. There was nothing there. And
I kept hearing Jesus say, 'You see, man is going to try to become God,' and
over and over I heard that. I called it 'duplication' because they were all
identical, they all looked alike. I didn't understand it until a few years
ago, and then I realized it was cloning. That's what He was showing me."
The mention of artificial wombs came just a few days before news hit that
indeed scientists have developed an artificial womb that will allow embryos to
    grow outside the human body.
As a result, Sondra believes there will be a long-running series of events
that will come to the world as a purification. She claims she still "hears"
the voice of Jesus, and that she heard Him last October 2001, not long after the
terrorist attack. "He said, 'Many will call to Me for mercy when more things
start happening. I've sent mercy with my Mother for years and years.' I know
that attack could have been stopped, but it was a wake-up call to us, to show
what evil is in the world, a call from the Father. He was letting us see how
far we had gone. This cloning, they're determined to push on with it, and
that's going to be our downfall."
We have indicated other prophecies that said a "great new evil" related to
reproduction would arrive and cause a huge challenge for humans, one that, if
the wrong choice was made, would lead to events that would first occur (as was
the case with September 11) on a regional scale. Indeed, the main headline in
The New York Times on the morning of September 11 related to a push by
scientists to open the way for human cloning, ostensibly because it is needed
    for stem cells.

Crew, I wonder how you refer to black people?
Do you believe people earn the right to refer to them in a particular way?

Perhaps you feel that people actually earn 'the right' to behave indignantly toward others? This is a strange sort of logic.

You've obviously served your country well in battle.
I remember when I was a youngster at school. When I got into fistfights with other kids. Afterwards, once it was all over... I remember having this strange respect for those kids. Whether I won or lost, I never disrespected them.

TURKEY TELLS EU TO CRIMINALIZE CRITICISM OF ISLAM by Bob Unruh
Analyst says plan should be 'warning' of looming danger April 30, 2018
    http://www.wnd.com/2018/04/dark-push-to-criminalize-criticism-of-islam/#bClfXWVYSudfxDJU.99

Turkey, a member of NATO along with the United States, for years was regarded as a moderate Muslim nation with Western leanings.

But it recently has taken a sharp turn toward full-blown Islamic law and persecution of non-Muslims.

It just got worse, with a statement from a high government official that Turkey wants all governments across Europe to criminalize “Islamophobia,” which would include any negative comment about the religion.

The report comes from Uzay Bulut, a journalist from Turkey who has worked with the Haym Salomon Center. She’s currently based in Washington and writes at the Gatestone Institute.

She wrote in a recent report for the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu called on EU governments to criminalize “Islamophobia.”

Her report quoted him saying, “There is no ideology or terminology called ‘Islamism’; There is only one Islam and it means ‘peace.'”

She pointed out that it is salaam that means peace, not Islam, which means submission.

She wrote, “Urging all politicians to recognize Islamophobia as ‘a hate crime and a form of racism’ in their constitutions, Çavuşoğlu accused European judiciaries of applying a double standard by not paying as much attention to Islamophobia as they do to anti-Semitism.”

There is nothing new about his views, the report said.

In fact, the supremacy of Islam is taught in the Quran, which states, “It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion.”

The writer suggested that Turkish officials be reminded of the nation’s history.

“Non-Muslims in Turkey have been exposed to severe persecution and attempts at annihilation, such as the 1914-1923 Christian genocide; the 1941-1942 conscription of the ‘twenty classes,’ of all male Christians and Jews, including the elderly and mentally ill; and the 1942 Wealth Tax, which aimed to impoverish non-Muslims and transfer their wealth to Muslims,” she explained. “Today, only 0.2 percent of Turkey’s population of nearly 80 million is Christian or Jewish.”

Her report said there are fewer than 2,000 Greeks left in Istanbul, after they were “murdered, deported or forced to flee severe persecution” over the years.

Some 1.5 million Armenians were killed during Turkey’s 1915 genocide, and since then, they have been targeted with the seizure of property and other assets, the report said.

The nation has systematically discriminated against Jews for generations.

“The laws that excluded Jews and other non-Muslim citizens from certain occupations in the 1920s and blocked the Jews’ freedom of movement; the 1934 anti-Jewish pogrom in eastern Thrace, and the continued anti-Jewish hate speech in the Turkish media and certain political circles are among the forms of persecution and discrimination against Jewish citizens of Turkey,” she wrote.

As for Assyrian Christians in Turkey?

They “suffered forced evictions, mass displacement and the burning down of their homes and villages, abductions (including of priests,) forced conversions to Islam through rape and forced marriage, and murder. These pressures, and other insidious forms of persecution and discrimination, have decimated the community.”

Even now, the government and Muslim Kurds “continue to seize their lands and property illegally,” she wrote.

Protestant Christians are not considered a “legal entity” in Turkey and are deprived of the right to establish and maintain places of worship.

And they are targeted with “hate crimes and speech, verbal and physical attacks and workplace discrimination.”

Yazidis are simply not recognized as having religion, she wrote.

It’s actually been since about the 11th century that Turks “seem to have had a tradition … of being unneighborly to non-Muslims,” she wrote.

“The West needs to be reminded that this tradition is alive and well in modern Turkey,” she said.

“Çavuşoğlu, in his talk against Islamophobia, did not mention the atrocities committed by radical Islamists in Europe. Those abuses are at the root of the debate about how to tackle the calls to violence in Islam without hampering the civil liberties of law-abiding Muslims. By proposing to block all criticism of Islam on the grounds that it is ‘extremist, anti-immigrant, xenophobic and Islamophobic,’ Çavuşoğlu is revealing that he would welcome banning free speech to protect a religious ideology,” her warning said.

Turkey to EU: Punish 'Islamophobes' as criminals
    Wednesday, May 2, 2018 https://www.onenewsnow.com/persecution/2018/05/02/turkey-to-eu-punish-islamophobes-as-criminals
    Michael F. Haverluck (OneNewsNow.com)

After calling the European Union (EU) to prosecute critics of Islam as criminals, Turkey is no longer considered a moderate Muslim nation that embraces Western influences, but one that now wants Western nations to enforce its harsh Islamic law against “infidels.”

“[A] statement from a high government official [stresses] that Turkey wants all governments across Europe to criminalize ‘Islamophobia’ – which would include any negative comment about the religion,” WND reported. “It recently has taken a sharp turn toward full-blown Islamic law and persecution of non-Muslims.”

Who’s really guilty of hate crimes?

Gatestone Institute’s Uzay Bulut – who is based in Washington, D.C., after formerly serving as a journalist in Turkey – reported on Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu’s demand that all EU governments representing 28 nations criminalize anyone “guilty” of expressing ideas that he considers falling under the category of so-called “Islamophobia.”

“Urging all politicians to recognize Islamophobia as ‘a hate crime and a form of racism’ in their constitutions, Çavuşoğlu accused European judiciaries of applying a double standard by not paying as much attention to Islamophobia as they do to anti-Semitism,” Bulut pointed out in her piece published by the Gatestone Institute.

The Turkish government leader’s deceptive use of the term “Islam” was then pointed out, as well as his claim of intolerance against Muslims – which he insists is unjustified despite numerous Islamic terrorist attacks on European soil and rife Muslim violence witnessed in numerous European communities.

“There is no ideology or terminology called ‘Islamism’ – there is only one Islam and it means ‘peace,”' Çavuşoğlu insisted, according to Bulut’s Gatestone report. “[Populist politicians are] increasingly engaging in extremist, anti-immigrant, xenophobic and Islamophobic rhetoric to get a few more votes, [and] centrist politicians are … using a similar rhetoric to get back the votes they have lost."

Bulut then set the record straight for those not bothering to question the Muslim leader’s claim about the meaning of Islam, stressing that it actually means submission, whereas “salaam” is really the term that means peace.

She also pointed to surah 9:33 in the Quran, which states, "It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion..." to show how it is Islam that professes to be superior and justifiably dominate or conquer other “inferior” religions.

Çavuşoğlu's blatant distortion of Turkish history over the centuries was also exposed, showing that it is Islam – not Christianity – that has been the perpetrator of persecution and intolerance over the decades.

“Non-Muslims in Turkey have been exposed to severe persecution and attempts at annihilation, such as the 1914-1923 Christian genocide; the 1941-1942 conscription of the ‘twenty classes,’ of all male Christians and Jews, including the elderly and mentally ill; and the 1942 Wealth Tax, which aimed to impoverish non-Muslims and transfer their wealth to Muslims,” Bulut informed. “Today, only 0.2 percent of Turkey’s population of nearly 80 million is Christian or Jewish [with approximately 99 percent being Muslim].”

Even though Turkish leadership demands that Muslims abroad be given all the religious freedom to practice their religion, the Islamic government has a horrible track record of denying Christians their right to worship.

“Protestant Christians are not considered a ‘legal entity’ in Turkey and are deprived of the right to establish and maintain places of worship,” WND’s Bob Unruh noted. “And they are targeted with ‘hate crimes and speech, verbal and physical attacks and workplace discrimination.’”

False claims in the name of intolerance?

Twisting history further, Çavuşoğlu likened the treatment of Muslims – who have invaded Europe and taken over numerous districts as “no-go zones” – to the persecution of Jews in concentration camps by the Nazis during World War II.

"There is no need to relive Auschwitz or wait for Muslims to be burned in gas chambers like Jewish people," the Turkish politician continued.

The “European Islamophobia Report 2017” also echoes the Muslim cry of victimization in Europe, which many critics see as a strategy used by Muslim leaders to ultimately take over Europe and Islamize it.

“The denial of the very existence of Islamophobia/anti-Muslim racism/anti-Muslim hate crime in Europe by many demonstrates the need for an appropriate effort and political will to tackle this normalized racism and its manifestations that are deeply entrenched in European societies, institutions and states,” the report published by IslamophobiaEurope.com reads. “This denial is not only the case for extremist groups on the political fringe of the society, but rather far-right discourses have moved to the center of political power. Consequently, it is not only right-wing extremist groups that rely on the means of Islamophobic propaganda and discourse – social democrats, liberals, leftists or conservatives are not immune to this form of racism.”

It went on to demand that European leaders enact laws immediately to enforce punishment of those who are opposed to the negative effects Muslim migrants have had on their communities, cities and nations.

“EU institutions need to recognize and address Islamophobia politically as a form of racism that can lead to human rights violations,” the writers of the pro-Islam report added. “The legal and political recognition of Islamophobia is of utmost importance. Therefore, a European-level conference on Islamophobia should be organized with the support of at least one EU member state or the European Parliament. In this context, the European Parliament should adopt a resolution on combatting Islamophobia with concrete policy recommendations and ways forward – as it did to combat anti-Semitism and anti-Gypsysism. EU member states should adopt national action plans against racism addressing Islamophobia as a specific form of racism.”

    Debunking Islamic distortions

Bulut noted that this Muslim worldview is also shared by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his government, who also claim that Muslim immigrants in Europe are oppressed – even though it is actually Islamic adherents who are the ones dishing out violence and hatred in communities, according to numerous reports.

“Non-Muslims – as we all have been seeing – are persecuted throughout the Islamic world,” she explained. “Muslims in Europe, on the other hand, enjoy equal rights and religious liberty. Unfortunately, many radical imams use the freedoms granted to them by European democracies to preach Jew-hatred and violent jihad, to recruit fighters and to establish sharia (Islamic) law courts in their neighborhoods.”

The one-sidedness and baseless claims were further critiqued in order to discount Çavuşoğlu’s call to eradicate all traces of what he calls Islamophobia in Europe.

“Çavuşoğlu, in his talk against Islamophobia, did not mention the atrocities committed by radical Islamists in Europe,” Bulut impressed. “Those abuses are at the root of the debate about how to tackle the calls to violence in Islam without hampering the civil liberties of law-abiding Muslims. By proposing to block all criticism of Islam on the grounds that it is ‘extremist, anti-immigrant, xenophobic and Islamophobic,’ Çavuşoğlu is revealing that he would welcome banning free speech to protect a religious ideology.”

Before citing numerous accounts of purges and laws designed to remove or eradicate “infidels” from Turkey, Bulut stressed that Çavuşoğlu has his discrimination and persecution stories backwards.

“Given Turkey's inhospitable treatment of non-Muslims throughout the ages, it is the height of hypocrisy for its foreign minister to complain about Europe's attitude towards Muslims, which has been the opposite of Islamophobic,” Bulut asserted. “To refresh Çavuşoğlu's memory, a review of Turkey's record is in order.”

I don't know who Sondra Abrahams is and so I don't speak to the veracity or lack thereof on what she has to say, but my first thought was that any baby created would have a soul. I have nieces who were "test tube babies" so to speak. Though it is a sinful way to create children I believe they are normal children like all others. Then on thinking about it I began to realize that even though sinful, they are still the creation of a sperm and an egg and so still their own people created by a father and a mother.

Clones however have no father or mother. They are not even their own people. They are duplicates of a person who already has a soul. Copies. They are not even twins who have their own parents and grow separately. No identical twins are exactly alike. They have different fingerprints for example.

Also what happens if scientists begin (maybe they already are) mixing human DNA with animal DNA. It would be hard for me to conceive that a pig-man with 50% DNA of each would have a soul. This would surely be an aberration before God. These are not abstract ideas. We are right on top of this technology right now. In fact it may already be being done.

You're right. Just after I posted my last post I kept researching and I came across a BBC article that states they are already creating human-pig embyos. I just picked a pig randomly as an example for my post because I know they are similar to humans in some respects, but apparently the scientists chose them as well. Very sick stuff.
