In our time, we face many events, trends, and spiritual shades of light (and darkness) rising on all sides.

Make no mistake: evil is intensifying in our personal lives as well as our society.

Yet, we're never powerless; just the opposite. While Christ looked vulnerable in the desert, He was actually expanding to His most powerful state, due to strengthening through adversity. He fought a fantastic onslaught of evil and temptation through fasting. Our hardest choices often bear the greatest fruit. With prayer and fasting we can stop wars and even suspend the laws of nature.

Nothing that rises against us cannot be subdued in some way through discipline in the sense of eternity. It is difficult to report the news. It is also necessary.

From the Diary of St. Faustina:

"Today I was awakened by a great storm. The wind was raging, and it was raining in torrents, thunderbolts striking again and again. I began to pray that the storm would do no harm, when I heard the words: Say the chaplet I have taught you, and the storm will cease. I began immediately to say the chaplet and hadn't even finished it when the storm suddenly ceased, and I heard the words; Through the chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My will" (1731).

    And again,

"When a great storm was approaching, I began to say the chaplet. Suddenly I heard the voice of an angel: 'I cannot approach in this storm, because the light which comes from her mouth drives back both me and the storm.' Such was the angel's complaint to God. I then recognized how much havoc he was to have made through this storm; but I also recognized that this prayer was pleasing to God, and that this chaplet was most powerful (1791)."

Please remind people to pray the Chaplet and beg for God's Mercy on this world, notes a reader named Kathleen, especially with the devastating natural events, societal trends, and crimes -- the school shooting -- evil that with fasting and prayer can be defeated.

The Chaplet is so powerful. I don't think many understand this. It will be, along with the rosary, the weapons of choice as the darkness ensues the world. Satan has to feel the burn from these two weapons every time they are said in confidence to the Woman who will crush his head (Gen 3:15).

“Padre Pio is often with me during exorcisms, and the devil fears him”

Fr. Piero Catalan is a spiritual disciple of Fr. Gabriele Amorth. He says that during exorcisms the demon calls the saint of Pietrelcina "the bearded man" or "Francesco Forgione.”
He came to the attention of the media because he was the leader, on December 4, of a meeting at the Telesio Grammar School in Reggio Calabria, Italy, to discuss the “horror game” that has been popular online for quite a while, the “Charlie Charlie Challenge.”

    A conference with the Focolarini

Fr. Piero Catalano, disciple of Fr. Gabriele Amorth, the famous exorcist of the diocese of Rome who died in 2016, is a priest and exorcist of Reggio Calabria, explained why he uses the relics of saints during exorcisms and invokes Saint Pio of Pietrelcina against the devil to good effect.

After a life dedicated to volunteer work with the Gen Movement (connected to the Focolari Movement founded by Chiara Lubich), on December 8, 1988 he became consecrated to God in the priesthood. He has been the pastor of two towns on the Jonica coast of Reggio Calabria—Roccaforte del Greco and Saint Pantaleone—and today is the pastor of the Parish of Saint John Nepomucene and Saint Philip Neri in Arangea.

The demons fear even to say his name!

Fr. Piero studied for years to be an exorcist and is a spiritual son of Fr. Amorth. He started practicing prayer of liberation at the age of 18, and was named an exorcist three years ago.

In his office, he has many relics of saints. “I use them during my exorcisms,” he explains to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera (last December 19). “Which saint do I invoke most often? I have a special love for Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, who often makes himself present during exorcisms. The possessed person becomes afraid. He’ll say, ‘The one with the beard is here!’ And I reply, ‘By any chance, is he named Saint Pio of Pietrelcina?’ The demon will respond, ‘No, his name is Francesco Forgione.’ The devil fears even to name him.”

    From nausea to cold

Fr. Piero says that he becomes aware of a demonic presence, a possession, or a vexation, through typical reactions of the demon. “For example, as soon as I put my hand on the person’s head, he or she pulls back, turns very cold, feels like he or she is choking, or becomes nauseated, etc.” If it’s not a case of demonic presence, then the exorcist limits himself to a prayer of liberation.

“Do you want to come over to my side?”

“The demon,” Fr. Piero observes, “does everything possible to tempt us exorcists. Once, he asked me, ‘How much money do you want to come over to my side?’ I started to laugh, because I’ve made a vow of poverty. I don’t have money to pay for my own funeral if I die, and I share everything with the poor. And the devil said, ‘If I could, I’d kill you instantly.’ Then I replied, ‘But you can’t because I belong to Jesus!'

From the Diary of St. Faustina - very important to remember!

    Friday, September 13, 1935.

474 (In the evening, when I was in my cell, I saw an Angel, the executor of divine wrath. He was clothed in a dazzling robe, his face gloriously bright, a cloud beneath his feet. From the cloud, bolts of thunder and flashes of lightning were springing into his hands; and from his hand they were going forth, and only then were they striking the earth. When I saw this sign of divine wrath which was about to strike the earth, and in particular a certain place, which for good reasons I cannot name, I began to implore the Angel to hold off for a few moments, and the world would do penance. But my plea was a mere nothing in the face of the divine anger. Just then I saw the Most Holy Trinity. The greatness of Its majesty pierced me deeply, and I did not dare to repeat my entreaties. At that very moment I felt in my soul the power of Jesus' grace, which dwells in my soul. When I became conscious of this grace, I was instantly snatched up before the Throne of God. Oh, how great is our Lord and God and how incomprehensible His holiness! I will make no attempt to describe this greatness, because before long we shall all see Him as He is. I found myself pleading with God for the world with words heard interiorly.

As I was praying in this manner, I saw the Angel's helplessness: he could not carry out the just punishment which was rightly due for sins. Never before had I prayed with such inner power as I did then.)

475 (The words with which I entreated God are these: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ for our sins and those of the whole world; for the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us.)

476 (The next morning **, when I entered chapel, I heard these words interiorly: Every time you enter the chapel, immediately recite the prayer which I taught you yesterday. When I had said the prayer, in my soul I heard these words: This prayer will serve to appease My wrath. You will recite it for nine days, on the beads of the rosary, in the following manner: First of all, you will say one OUR FATHER and HAIL MARY and the I BELIEVE IN GOD. Then on the OUR FATHER beads you will say the following words: "Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world." On the HAIL MARY beads you will say the following words: "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world." In conclusion, three times you will recite these words: "Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.")

[** The next morning would be: September 14 - the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy was given to St. Faustina and the world beginning on the Eve and then in its entirety on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.]

Told to me during Adoration in Aug., 1996 - for your discernment:
"How long shall I wait? Pray for your brothers and sisters. The scales are tilting. The world is falling deeper into darkness and it will be shattered. But first, My mercy shall come! My Light will be there for all who want to be drawn into it. Do not allow satan to distract you. Know my child that satan hates you. Keep focused on Me alone." Upon leaving the chapel, I saw a giant cross in the sky. LB
