There are a lot of hit pieces out there regarding the repeal of the Johnson amendment. I for one believe that repealing this could be one of if not THE action which could send our nation well underway toward a restoration of the values we have always stood for.

If you have never read about the Johnson amendment, why it was created and how it was passed I would recommend taking the time to look into it. The entire idea was political retribution and an abuse of power that should have been overturned LONG ago.

It’s hard to imagine why our government would have ever stricken the right to freedom of speech or freedom of religion for any segment of the population.

So, it was truly refreshing to hear President Donald Trump vow Thursday to repeal the Johnson Amendment, an IRS rule barring pastors from endorsing candidates from the pulpit.

"I will get rid of and totally destroy the Johnson Amendment and allow our representatives of faith to speak freely and without fear of retribution," Trump said during remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast, a high-profile event bringing together faith leaders, politicians and dignitaries.

Trump first made the pledge during his campaign. That, along with the promise of a faith-friendly Supreme Court nominee, led to the groundswell evangelical support that got him elected to the nation’s highest office.

Trump has proven over and over again in his first days as president that he’s a man of his word. Evangelicals are trusting that he will unmuzzle our nation’s pastors, restoring to them their constitutional rights to freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

In Trump’s words, religious freedom is a "sacred right." It’s a terrible shame that it has taken a half century to get someone into the White House who is willing to restore that right to the nation's pastors.

... and the next coming next ... Hopefully! ...... Of course, when you confront EVIL forcefully, EVIL becomes even more vicious and another reason for SHTF 2017. It appears that people of Good Will & Faith have decided to confront EVIL Worldwide ...... including The Church!

It is amazing to see people coming unglued about Trump as president. Seemingly "normal" people before the election are angry, more than normal anger it appears, after the inauguration. Trump would not have been my first choice but as a Catholic I had no other choice at election. And since he has been in office, I am pleased. Is he a perfect Christian man, a perfect man even, no. Do I like him, in time I might. But, I don't have to like him. I just have to feel he is working for "the people" which is what he was elected for, to work for us. He is arrogant but I haven't seen a president or politician who isn't arrogant. I believe it is the mark of the office, arrogance or maybe self assured is a better phrase.

I have relatives that are literally foaming at the mouth over Trump. They swear they are moving to Canada or Europe  until he is out of office. You notice, all the movie stars that were moving are still here.

I noticed that most of my friends on Facebook who are foaming at the mouth aginst Trump are the same ones who are fallen away from the Church.

Would I get any marks for guessing that they're all big fans of Pope Francis?

The ironic thing is that I have yet to find a fallen away Catholic friend who has been attracted to Pope Francis' outreach efforts. Those who I know who have come back to the Church come back because someone had to tell them the hard truth the hard way.

Just in case it hasn't already been mentioned, but this Friday starting at midnight the witches of the world are casting a spell against Trump. I suggest that we sacrifice more this Friday than we usually do to counter this spell.

Being a fan of the Pope doesn't mean wanting to return to Mass and the Sacraments. Some of his biggest fans are atheists, agnostics, humanists and members of various non-Catholic religions but, rather than rushing to convert, they see him as affirming them in their own beliefs.

    Thanks for the heads up.

The only people on Facebook who share posts about the pope are my non-Catholic liberal friends who love his anti-Trump statements.

President Trump seems to be hated by all the right people. He must be doing something good with pushback like that coming his way.

He needs to reconsider his choice for education secretary, I would think.

    According to Pat Buchanan:

"Taking sides with Attorney General Jeff Sessions against Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, the president rescinded the Obama directive that gave transgender students the right to use the bathroom of their choice in public schools."

    And:

' After yielding on the bathroom question, she put out a statement declaring that every school in America has a “moral obligation” to protect children from bullying and directed her Office of Civil Rights to investigate all claims of bullying or harassment “against those who are most vulnerable in our schools.” '

It would be interesting to see how they justify a boy pretending to be a girl, insisting upon entering a girls' bathroom most likely against all their objections, is considered the 'victim' rather than being the actual bully. Regardless, DeVos has outed herself as a full-on liberal.

People of weak faith are more likely to interpret the Pope's love-in with atheists and atheism as an indicator that, whether it is the case or not, the Pope himself lacks conviction and might be more likely to abandon the faith. But I'm probably just a hypocrite when I say this. The worst (only?) sin nowadays seems to be being a Catholic.

Trump Rips FBI: Find Leakers 'Now'

President Donald Trump went after the FBI on Twitter Friday morning, accusing the agency of being "totally unable to stop the national security 'leakers'" and insisting the agency act "now" to stop the flow of classified information to the media.

I'm right there with you. I was no fan of Trump, but I was cheering on election night. Admittedly, I am very pleased with what trump is doing right now!
He is thanking God and invoking His name at every opportunity. He is grateful for the Christian support, and I'm hoping his heart will turn towards God and real faith as he grows in this office. He surrounded himself with amazingly great people who will hopefully help, shape and mound his character towards an authentic faith...making America great again and Godly again.
