I am not going to get drawn into this. If you think someone like this is worth voting for and you think his morality does not count , go ahead vote for him. The entire lesson of the Old Testament on the morality of kings and leaders teaches that personal morality is important. But who am I? Go ahead. My view on him is that he is totally evil. Demonically possessed. But I'll leave it at that. A bad tree will never bring forth good fruit same goes for Hillary and her gang. Same for the EU and Britain leaving. Trump is the only anti-abortion candidate... and when it comes to legalized murder and infanticide, the Candidate that goes against it will always get my support. I listen to EWTN at work, and a one minute sound bite came on from a Bishop about voting. He said the church won't tell you which candidate to vote for, but he says we always have an obligation to vote for the candidate that aligns best with Catholic values. Then he brought up the subject of abortion. When we look at the Catechism it tells us that we should also have employment that gives us a decent quality of life. The economy is something that Trump focuses on, which has been seriously undermined by the democrats. Trump has made his billions, he is now done with that. Now that he is in the fall/winter season of his life and I genuinely believe he wants to do something altruistic with the rest of it. He has been successful with business, and he will be successful as President.
The post-referendum debate is weird. For years, Eurosceptics had been labelled as an ultra right wing, fascist element of the Conservative party. Ultra right wing, fascist and racist are the favourite labels used to describe anyone in Europe who isn't fully on board with what the EU has become and the direction it is taking. There are some exceptions to this where no stretch of the imagination could manage to fit the right wing label to the groups opposed to the EU so those groups get the "far left" label. Whatever the label it must have the "far" or "ultra" prefix to make the EU-lovers appear middle of the road, tolerant, inclusive and democratic. Conservative Cameron "did the right thing" and resigned because the electorate didn't agree with his preference to Remain yet he did the right thing in a democracy and let the people vote. The majority of his parliamentary party shared his Remain preference although some were opposed to holding a referendum, yet none of them feels obliged to resign. Labour's Corbyn together with the majority of his parliamentary party had the same Remain preference as Cameron, never had any intention of holding a referendum, and the majority of the electorate voted against their preference. Corbyn sees no reason why he should resign. Just like the Conservatives whose preference was rejected by the people, none of Labour's MP's feels obliged to "do the right thing" and resign. In fact, there are calls from senior members of his party for Corbyn to resign, not because he is at odds with the electorate but because he didn't campaign hard enough. It was the labour vote that made the difference in the referendum, some of the highest margins for Brexit being in traditional Labour strongholds. In almost all of England outside London, a majority of the electorate were at odds with their MPs. Talk about being out of touch! Now, the Europeans are ordering Britain to submit their Brexit notice straight away and one EU politician (was it the German Foreign Minister?) even went so far as to demand that Britain get a new Prime Minister without delay. To top it all off, at least a million supposedly tolerant and inclusive democrats in Britain have signed a petition demanding another referendum because they don't like the result that will separate them from the same Europeans who are also blaming Cameron for having the temerity to do the right thing in a democracy by letting the people decide. Is Rod Sterling still alive? If so, he could turn up at any minute.
Padraig's sadness for the loss of old friends from the forum may bring to mind "I'll raise to you the parting glass" but remember whether you see the glass as half empty or half full it always means there's room for more.

They are not his words but the words of warning we have been hearing for some time now from multiple apparition sites (including the approved ones of Fatima and Akita). There is much hope in these apparition messages for Mary's children. Being safe and hope filled in Her heart does not mean we won't go through what everyone else will, it just means we are not afraid of doing it because, like the martyrs of old, we live for our life in Christ which can't be taken from us unless we freely give it up. Hard days are ahead, but our Church will get us through, though battered and smaller, to the pier of safety between Mother Mary and Christ in the Eucharist. Be not afraid, Brothers and Sisters. That's right!! No Catholic in good conscience could ever consider the Democrats because they have built into their party platform support for infanticide as well as Sodomy and a host of other intrinsic evils. Trump is not 100% pro-life (he has exceptions) but he has shown the courage to change his position. That's not easy to do considering that he comes from a formerly liberal background. In my estimation the leaders of the pro-life community made a serious mistake in opposing Trump early on and it almost jeopardized our chances of beating Hillary. Trump is the only one that every had a chance of beating her. In Pittsburgh alone nearly 40,000 Democrats jumped ship and registered as Republicans to vote for Trump in the primaries. Hillary doesn't stand a chance. The only way she wins is if the Democrats engage in massive voter fraud - which is always a possibility.
We as Americans are being given 2 choices....Hilary or Trump.....it's not easy. Much prayer is needed here and perhaps some direction from the pulpit but mostly the Holy Spirit....I will tell you one thing...abortion and being able to own a gun are two issues that speak loudly to me....but, oh well....
This question goes to all the Trump supporters and I know you are passionate about how you are going to vote (fair play to you) but I myself got a huge shock in the brexit vote and believe me both sides of the vote option was playing with evil ( which devil to choose) but what if Hilary wins how will you react to this ??? hard times ahead for sure..Stay strong and keep the faith..
