I think I didn't explain what I meant clearly, let me try again. I feel that your prophecy of one day being all alone here is becoming a self fulfilling prophecy. What I mean is that some very good contributors have already left, very good valued contributors. Many others of us have said in the past that we find it very disconcerting to daily see the constant attacks on Pope Francis from a few people. But it continues. It seems that Joe and David are the only ones that are very vocal about defending him, the rest of us are just keeping quiet. But don't confuse our silence with consent. It's very disturbing, but you and the ones I have on ignore are not the enemy. And Joe and David and those of us who love and trust Pope Francis and Jesus' promise to not let the gates of hell prevail against His Church, are not the enemy either. The evil one is the enemy and he is sly, and is succeeding in pitting good people like you and Joe and David against each other. Joe is sucked in by it as well and is too worked up about it and attacking, that's just as wrong as the constant attacks on Pope Francis. My advice is just as much to Joe as it is to the Macs of the blog. You are not each other's enemy, but the real enemy is succeeding in pitting you against each other. Don't let him. Trust God instead. Love. There's enough hate in the world to start more by pitting good Catholics against one another. Love.
I honestly and sincerely believe that there are real problems and dangers at the very heart of our Church. I could not in conscience then stop or censure discussion of this matter. This dialogue and discussion is entrain at all levels in the Church from Cardinals right on down to we ordinary lay folk. I would feel it wrong to censure or inhibit it here. I don't believe putting putting a lid on our thoughts is in line with the Spirit of Vatican 2. We need to discuss these issues openly , they are too urgent to ignore or to pretend to ourselves that they are simply not happening. Opening a lid on uncofrtable issues makes folks uncomfrotable, I appreciate this, but keeping a lid on these issues would lead to things even worse in the future. Keepinga lid on things can lead to an exposion. Look at the child abuse crisis. They kept the lid on that for decades and look what happened there. In my opinion what is happening in the Church at the moemtn is a crisis a thousand times worse than the child abuse buisness.

I agree there are problems. But we must keep things in perspective and do all things in Charity with Love. There are a very vocal few here (who I finally put on ignore to keep my peace or I'd have been one of the former members here as well) who daily rail against our Pope. I had my questions about him, but I finally prayed about it and turned it over to God who then opened my heart and showed me that just mabye my ways are not His ways, so I decided to trust Him. I think one thing that would help to reduce the rapid 'to and fro' mailngs which can get fraught so easily is an imposed block on replies until an hour or two (or three!) has passed on any mailing...

I very much doubt if Jesus would agree with your opinion about child abuse. I know what you are trying to say but you chose a very poor vehicle in which to make your point. If you placed an abused child in the midst of the the cardinals and bishops and priests in the throes of their arguments, his or her presence would silence the majority of good prelates. In Garabandal Mary used the present tense in her exhortation. She said many Cardinals, Bishops and Priests ARE going to hell and taking many with them. There is also witness that She said that VatII 2 was good. Taking these two statements together it seems to me that child abuse was at the centre of the crisis that led to abuse of the church and in the church of sacred testimony and truth mostly by enemies of the Pope. As for the contention that no one here is attacking Pope Francis I remember a long list of accusations and attacks that you have personally made Padraig. I see Donald Trump has called for Obama's resignation. CJ has said that Obama will not complete this term. It seems that end times issues are escalating. If sin is involved in opposition to our Pope or indeed if support for the Pope involves sin those who are guilty will receive an education in The Warning about the offense and all will be made clear. We must be very careful if we are going to pick a side. There will eventually be no way back. Our Lady of Akita said there will come a time when forgiveness will not be available and forgiveness is the only way back.
There is a litany of non sequiturs posturing as argument and defence of the Holy Father. Please can we at least agree that holding that Pope Francis is personally responsible for the confusion and division that has plagued the Church of late IS NOT the same as holding that Christ's promises are ultimately groundless. Every time I have read a solid critique of Pope Francis the default response seems to be " well then you are essentially an apostate as you don't believe that Christ is in control" or some version of such nonsense. This blind defense of every whim of the Pope is ludicrous. Please my friends not every word, thought, or action of the Supreme authority is protected by the charism of infallibility. In fact it is so circumscribed that one only talks about it in the negative sense i.e free from error in defining some truth re faith and morality.
