I am off to Mass to pray for the soul of someone I know who committed suicide yesterday. I hardly slept a wink last night thinking and praying about his soul. So I used my time well praying Divine mercy chaplet and Rosary for his poor soul - he was only a year or two older than me (53 or 54) leaving behind devastated wife (a childhood sweetheart) and three children as well as extended family and an entire community in shock. Please offer one Hail Mary (slowly) for his soul. God Bless you all for that act of mercy.
Prayers going up. I was reading about a family that had lost three members connected to it in the last year. Suicide is becoming like a modern plague. Suicide and cancer.
I am so sorry and will pray for this soul as well....I worry about my youngest who is in the depths of depression....He is living with us, thank God so we can keep an eye on him....please join me in prayer for my youngest as well....I don't know what I would do if he became so hopeless as to commit this final act.
Praying for his soul and for his family. And really all families - I think these last few years, the evil one is using depression and anxiety and other forms of mental attacks to drive many to the point of despair. The only antidote is Christ. Again, so sorry for the loss of your friend. May God pardon him and bring him the peace he was searching for.
Bless you for helping your son! Prayer tip I received from a Vincention Priest (St Vincent DePaul order ) at our Ladys Shrine in Philly. After my confession, Fr gave my penance and asked I would pray for those who are going thru what im going thru....it really hit me in the head like daaah! So now, whatever problem im in I try to add ....and ALL those going thru the same Lord, have Mercy!
