Just checking on you Mike. I haven't forgotten about you and your family. Please remember me in your prayers too
Hi all, Thank you all for your prayers. They are working! My daughter went on a retreat this weekend with my wife - prayer, confession, The Word, and of course the Eucharist. I think she is in a better place but still on a long journey (who of us is not on the journey). I believe the HS touched her and the healing has begun. It's not over- never is- but I don't doubt she encountered the Living and Merciful Christ with a group of loving caring Christians who didn't judge her. I can only thank you all by promising to pray for you all and the intentions some of you mentioned. It's for this reason why I love this forum and despite the angst of the other threads pulls me to stay. Peace.
I hope your not tired of me once again asking you for prayers. My daughter had a bit of a step back and to be honest it's causing me to get down a bit. You know, I struggle with the heart/head in trusting God. I say I trust with my head, but not always giving my heart to trust. So I come again to my family here at MOG, asking you to pray that this journey my daughter is on which I think will be one step forward and 2 steps back continues under the grace and protection of Our Lady. And can I ask you to slip a prayer in for me - help me to have wisdom to help my daughter and the grace to know where I can't help and to truly from my heart and soul trust Jesus. As always, I keep your intentions - those expressed here and those held in your hearts- in my prayers. I know some of you have shared similar concerns with your children and family members - these times are not easy. But, knowing we are holding each other up in prayer is very helpful. Peace
Praying. I struggle with trust as well. Maybe say the un-doer of knots novena to Mary. I have just finished saying this for a problem I have that is requiring a lot of trust and surrender on my part and I am not doing too well in this. By doing the novena I feel the situation is more in our mothers hands to resolve...which is a much better place than my hands. I have stuff to do on my end to resolve it, but our mother will untangle it from there. I feel better knowing she is in control. Maybe you can do the same.
Thanks for your suggestion. Will add this novena. I'm in the midst of the 33 day Consecration (actually re-consecration). I finish on Feast of Our Lady if Guadalupe. I was told I can consecrate my daughter (whole family). Also, I think today starts the novena to Christ the King. I came upon this reflection today and wanted to share it with everyone. Simply gazing and reflecting upon the Crucifux can help end the despair too. http://aleteia.org/2015/11/08/seeking-reassurance-finding-peace-in-the-crucifix/
Oh Jesus, I surrender Miker to You, take care of everything. Oh Jesus, I surrender Miker's daughter to You, take care of everything. Oh Jesus, I surrender Miker's family to You, take care of everything. Jesus, I trust in Thee. Jesus, I trust in Thee. Jesus, I trust in Thee. Amen.
Mike; don't know how I missed this thread till now. Your daughter and your family remain on my beads. I've also walked through these kinds of attacks on my son. Here's what I've learned: 1. We know that the Blessed Mother will crush satan's head, but he will strike at her heel. We are her heel, her point of weakness - what mother can see her children being struck and not suffer? So that makes our children the heel of her heel. If the enemy can't get to us, he will predictably go for our children. 2. Our concerns are our Mother's concerns; our concerns are Jesus' concerns. They are always on top of it. 2. The only way to maintain peace while the enemy is raging in our children is to offer them to God. Completely. I pray, "Your ways, your means, your timing, your will." I must have my children in heaven. If the Lord had to take all of them today in order to ensure their salvation, I say "Fiat." (I know that sounds like bravado, but I am 100% sincere. This takes radical trust.)
Yes. I agree Kathy. I'm in the first week of my 33 day reconsecration to Mary and you are so right. It's about turning it all over to her and Jesus. This for me not easy. I'm an action guy. Job hazard of being a manager at work and father of 4 - you get use to "directing" and no easy to be quiet and take direction. Going one step at a time.
Ditto, don't know how I missed this thread till now. Your daughter and your family remain on my beads. Dear Mike, My children remain my concern and I have recourse to only trust in Our Lord and Our Lady, especially with my youngest son; as he won't listen or possible more true, can't understand me, it is so frustrating. I try to not miss the promptings of the Holy Spirit as to what to do, even so I can't humanly see any change and it is disheartning. My prayers are with you, your wife and children especially the daughter you are concerned about here and I ask for your prayers too.
Miker - I will light a candle for you and your daughter at the Grotto at Notre Dame (in Indiana) tomorrow.
Oh my. How beautiful. A great, great gift. Thank you. Our daughter came with us to Mass tonight. Left smiling and contented. Our Lady work quickly.
Prayers Rosary and Mass for you , your daughter and your family! Trust is like Christmas, it is all in the giving. Give all to Mary and she will remember what it was like to give over her precious son for all of us. She knows and understands the pain and the joy.
