Yesterday, at the airport, the first image of the Holy Father seated, looking out the window of the Fiat, you mainly saw his face from the window of the car. Pope Francis looked calm, very peaceful, happy. And, I couldn't help it, I started to cry  when him come down the steps of the plane.

P.S. I have been listening to Rush Limbaugh, yesterday and today, I am so mad at him! He better change his attitude and words about Pope Francis. I am hoping during this week Limbaugh will. Limbaugh just asked the audience on his nationwide radio show, if the Pope says nothing about abortion during this trip, what does that say?

    Grrrr...!!! How stupid of Limbaugh.

Better just listen what the Pope really says and forget the "noise"

"...The innocent victim of abortion, children who die of hunger or from bombings, immigrants who drown in the search for a better tomorrow, the elderly or the sick who are considered a burden, the victims of terrorism, wars, violence and drug trafficking, the environment devastated by man’s predatory relationship with nature – at stake in all of this is the gift of God, of which we are noble stewards but not masters. It is wrong, then, to look the other way or to remain silent. No less important is the Gospel of the Family, which in the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia I will emphatically proclaim together with you and the entire Church.

These essential aspects of the Church’s mission belong to the core of what we have received from the Lord. It is our duty to preserve and communicate them, even when the tenor of the times becomes resistent and even hostile to that message (Evangelii Gaudium, 34-39). I urge you to offer this witness, with the means and creativity born of love, and with the humility of truth. It needs to be preached and proclaimed to those without, but also to find room in people’s hearts and in the conscience of society."

I watched the USCCB feed and was thankful for the great video and audio quality. Pope Francis' genuine warmth and love came across the internet to me. Pope Francis is a good man and has my full support. I may not agree with everything he says about various topics such as climate change, but that does not matter. What matters is for me to listen, watch and learn and be silent and let God teach me through His Vicar on Earth. We are truly blessed to have God's true church that has lasted through the ages and to see the successor of Peter be here teaching us and loving us :)

I watched as well. Can't wait to read the transcript, but the part that really got to me was his pastoral advice to dialogue, to go out to meet people for the sake of their souls, regardless of what they profess that is contrary to the truth.

    Very powerful, indeed!

Have seen snippets of famous people who do not practice their Catholic faith just giddy over the Holy Father's visit. May they be impacted by the Holy Spirit just as I was when I saw Pope Saint JPII on T.V. during his first U.S. visit. May the unbearable pressure between the heart bursting with love for him and the head rejecting Catholic teaching be the first step of conversion for them as well. And quickly!!!!

    bona Fide,

Yes, turn off (your perfect word), the "noise" of the liberal commentary. Frustrating though, Limbaugh is suppose to be conservative. He wavers back and forth today, criticizing Pope Francis, then, Rush admitting on his radio program a few minutes ago, Pope Francis told the reporters on the plane from Cuba when he was asked...are you even Catholic? The Holy Father said, I am not leftist, I profess the social teachings of Roman Catholicism.

And listening, right after those words, Rush states....Obama is lining himself up with the Holy Father all the while his administration goes totally against the teachings of the Catholic Church. Rush then listed some of those teachings, even contraception! Thank God people hear this.

kathy k's words, Amen, please dear God the Holy Spirit bring conversion with the Holy Father here.

P.S. I am going on about Rush Limbaugh, his brother is a strong non-Catholic Christian so his prayers offered for Rush over the years and others said too are at work and are going to help one day with the Warning coming.

I like Rush but Rush has it in for Pope Francis because of Papa's comments about capitalism (which also at first turned me off but I cam to understand that he's right about, it's become skewed where it's no longer fair--it's better than socialism or communism but Pope Francis rightly isn't interested in relativism, only Truth) and because of his comments on climate change (which is not infallible teaching and not particularly important in the grand scheme of things).

It's really amazing to be watching this on a MSM channel (CNN). The mass media in the US has not painted the Church in a good light and they have been providing wall to wall coverage. Even explaining what each part of the Mass is. What a great message and opportunity to bring Christ to our country.

History is about to be made. Really quite an honor - not many people are accorded this privilege, but the Holy Father is about to address a joint session of the US Congress- all 535 members, Supreme Court members - almost the entire government of the US. I cannot wait to hear what he tells us.

He delivered an inspiring, powerful, and prophetic message - it was a homily delivered to our Congress. He was equal opportunity in terms of the challenges he laid out to all of us. He covered it all in a tone of love. He told us and maybe this is his message- dialogue- talk to one another . I am very moved and yes, I'm proud of my Church today and proud of my country
