When I was a child my parents used to have Leverbrist Sspx masses in our home every Sunday.

    I read all the literatu5re

It is basically Protestant we know better than the Popes stuff .

    Nothing has changed

I told my parents my discernment and they gave it up like snow of the mountain .

    • People justify their own wickedness in separation from the Church, by referring to his own.
Pope Franci5 is very, very wicked, but he is still the Pope

The Pope then gave voice to “the silence of Our Lady at the foot of the Cross”, as Pope John Paul II had done before him. In reality, he said, the Gospel does not report any words from Our Lady. Mary “was silent, but within her heart how many things she said to the Lord” in that crucial moment in history. Likely, Mary would have thought back to the angel’s words regarding her Son: “On that day you told me he would be great! You told me he would be given the throne of David his father and that he would reign for ever! But now look there” at the Cross. Mary, Pope Francis added, “veiled in silence the mystery which she did not understand. And through silence she allowed the mystery to grow and flourish”, thus bringing great hope to all.

The Pope asserts Mary did not fully understand the mystery, not that Mary thought she was deceived by GOD.

I completely disagree with him, but it is not heretical to assert what he said.

Mary growing up as a Jewish girl with two saints for parents would have known the scripture passages saying that the promiced Messiah would be a man of suffering.

She also had an intelect undimmed by original sin. If anyone realized what was in store it would have been Mary.

I really don't like when she is painted as some clueless farm girl. Her yes was not a nieve half hearted "ok". She accepted with perfect docility everything that God wanted from her....suffering included.

Of course I could be totally wrong.

However I caution everyone to be careful what they assert about the Pope. We will answer for our words.

In the English version of the Aleteia.org website, Pope Francis speaks in the excerpt from the homily I mentioned
“The Gospel tells us nothing: whether She said a word or not…She was silent, but in Her heart, how many things did she tell the Lord! ‘You, that day – this is what we read – told me that He would be great; You told me that you would give Him the Throne of David, His father, that He would reign forever and now I see him there!’ Our Lady was human! And perhaps she had the urge to say: ‘Lies! I was deceived!” John Paul II said this, speaking about Our Lady in that moment. But She, with silence, covered the mystery that She did not understand and with this silence she left this mystery so that it could grow and flourish in hope.”
This mention of what Our Lady would have thought seems to indicate that at some point she would have doubted GOD's plan, so I found something more problematic than any flawed act by the Pope during the pontificate.

  18. In the spirit of Christian charity I will have to assume the Vatican's official recount of the speach by Pope Francis was correct and not a "sanitized" version.

Either way there is an obligation to put forth Pope John Paul's actual words which Pope Francis refers too, and I believe show that His idea of Mary's trial does not fit exactly with Pope Francis's portrayal...

"And now, standing at the foot of the Cross, Mary is the witness of the complete negation of these words. On that wood of the Cross her Son hangs in agony as one condemned…How great, how heroic then is the obedience of faith shown by Mary in the face of God's "unsearchable judgments"! How completely she "abandons herself to God" without reserve, offering the full assent of the intellect and the will" to him whose "ways are inscrutable" And how powerful too is the action of grace in her soul, how all-pervading is the influence of the Holy Spirit and of his light and power! Through this faith Mary is perfectly united with Christ in his self- emptying. At the foot of the Cross Mary shares through faith in the shocking mystery of this self-emptying." (Redemptoris Mater, 18)

The way I read it Pope John Paul does not say that Mary had the urge to call God a liar , but actually lauds the steadfast faith of Mary.

Reading Pope Francis's words in the most charitable way posible, Pope Fransis expresses that Mary would have been tempted to call God a liar.....Not that she called Him so or even that she considered it...Only that she may have been tempted to do so.

  19. My wife is battling cancer. Her surgery was not successful and she will be under the knife again along with chemotherapy, radiation and other drugs.

I love my wife dearly. I, along with many others have been praying for her health since this started.

So far the answer to our prayers has been no, or wait.

Am I tempted to doubt God?
    Am I tempted to dispair?

I summit my intelect and will to Him, accepting whatever is His plan for us.

I know and believe that He loves my wife infinitely more than I do. If He allows this suffering to continue I know it is to bring about a greater good for her. And I thank and praise Him no matter what the answer to my prayer is.

He is truely merciful. Praise be Jesus Christ!

Temptation is not sin, and often brings about greater faith and perseverance.
