    I'm still alive!
    I'm still married!
The sun still rises, and the weather is amazing!
    I know I'm loved!
    Jesus is risen!
    There is hope!
    I still have faith!
My God is an awesome God.
Thank you all so much. I hugely appreciate those who prayed for me specifically, but even when I had no words to say 'help' it meant sooo much to me to know that there are hundreds of you out there, all over the world, in every time zone I'd guess, praying for this forum and the members, and so praying for me - when I needed it, even without me asking.
The power of the Lord working today through this electronic gathering is truly wonderful. I am so glad to have benefited from it, and I will keep you all in my prayers.
We are the Easter people, and hallelujah is our song.

I got a suprise yesterday at noon when I went to mass in the hospital. The Protestant (anglican) Chaplain joined us for mass! I listened to him joining in the respeoses and he got nearly everyone correct. :)

Outside the litlte hospital Eucumenical shared Church are the offices of the Presbyterian, Anglican and Catholic chaplains so they see us all entering and leaving the Church everyday. I think it must touch the hearts of the Protestant Chaplains to see we Cahtolics faithfully come in and out of their every day whilst they have only the one service on Sunday. It must surely cause them to ask questions, like, why?

A few days ago a friend of mine Fr Gerry Reynolds died of cancer. He was in his 80's and was a very, very holy man indeed. As they say, 'Goodness walking:

Fr Gerry gave his whole life working for peace and Ecumenical accord. I think he knew more Protestant Pastors than he did we Catholics:D I just thought how he would have smiled to see a Protestant Pastor at our little Catholic Mass.

God is given Glory in His saints.

Thank you Jesus for everyday saints.

I have so much for which to be grateful from having been snatched from the jaws of death several times to daily help with my work. "My life like a bird has escaped from the snare of the fowler." He has been with me every step of the way for as long as I can remember amd rescued me at every turn yet I still gripe at what I perceive as unanswered prayer. On my dad's memorial card there is the prayer of St Thomas More:
"Thank you dear Jesus for all you have given me, for all you have taken away from me, for all you have left me."
I would add "Thank you for unanswered prayer." The only reason must be because they were not in line with God's will for me and would not have been good for me. Once again rescued from myself. Thank God.

    James 4:3

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

I was going to quote James but knew someone else would do it for me:rolleyes: Happy New Year Padraig. In my case the problem lies not so much in selfish motives as in letting go and letting God. Despite all the evidence to the better I am still fooled into thinking that I know what I need.

    James explained my lottery tickets.;)

How strange though if you prayed to win the lottery and you actually won it.

God would be getting blamed forever.

Yes its 2016. Just been on the phone to my sister in law Clare in Scotland. She is a strong woman and used to dealing with death but she broke down and cried most of the phone call. The whole family has not left Michael's side since he was admitted to hospital with necrotising fasciitis a couple of days ago. Apart from the fear of losing Michael her nephew who she loves dearly, she is horrified at the pain and terror her sister Linda, Michael's mum is going through. Clare says she has been screaming at God in anger that this good young man who has spent his life trying to find a cure for breast cancer should be lying in bed being eaten alive by this nightmare bug. Funny she says she is not angry at Mary, just God. Clare goes to Lourdes every year to work with the sick. It seems they will have to amputate Michaels arm. Its going through him like wild fire. They have already excised great quantities of flesh from his arms and sides. Clare is especially upset with his eyes and face. It does not look good for Michael's chances at survival. I wrote to tge Tyburn Nuns and they are pounding heavens doors with prayers for him. Winning the lottery is instantly relegated to the ridiculous.
