    Dear Forum Family,

Those of you who are familiar with Our Lady's Flame of Love devotion will be saddened to learn of Tony Mullen's unexpected death this past Saturday. I met him at an event in Fort Worth two years ago and was convinced by his speech that he truly was asked by Our Lord and Our Lady to spread this devotion. I'm sure his stay in Purgatory will be short because he answered the call so well, but please do pray for his speedy release into the splendor of the Father's house.

    Resided in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania

    OBITUARY
Anthony James Mullen, of Newtown Square, was called home to the Lord and his beloved wife Linda on Saturday, March 10, 2018. The oldest of eight children of Patricia (nee Kenny) and the late James N. Mullen, Tony was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in Overbrook Hills. A graduate of Archbishop John Carroll High School and St. Joseph's University, he received his MBA in Business and Taxation from Drexel University. After obtaining his CPA, he spent 5 years in public accounting where he specialized in new ventures. He started his own business in the senior housing and health care industry in 1984. During his 34 year career he became one of the foremost experts in his field for analyzing the financial and logistical metrics for developing senior living projects. He also authored numerous, original research papers in the field and co-founded graduate level programs in senior housing and care at Johns Hopkins University and The University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).

He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Mariano, in 1980 and they raised their 4 children in Drexel Hill. He was devoted to his children and beloved Linda until her passing in 2013 after a long and difficult illness. In the last 5 years he enjoyed spending time with his children and four beautiful grandchildren.

Tony was committed to Catholic education, crediting it for his great faith and business success. He was heavily involved in Bonner & Prendie over the past several years. At the urging of his wife Linda, Tony became an integral part of the appeal process by working hand in hand with Fr. Olsen, the Board of Advisors, School Administration, and the community to develop a leadership structure and vision for the future of Bonner & Prendie. Tony is a past chair of the school’s Advisory Board, and is the only person ever inducted into both Bonner & Prendie’s Hall of Fame.

Tony's other passion was helping people grow closer to the Lord through the Blessed Mother. In 1997 he founded the Children of the Father Foundation that combined corporal works of mercy with helping Catholics reconnect with their faith. He also was appointed the United States National Coordinator for the International Movement of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He has authored several religious books and videos, wrote articles for the Catholic Standard & Times and also appeared several times on the Catholic cable channel EWTN. He spent much of his time recently traveling throughout the country spreading the message of The Flame of Love.

He is survived by his children Kimberly and her husband, Quincy Adam, Andrew and his wife, Jessica Mullen, Kelly and her husband, Kyle McGrath, and Matthew Mullen; his four grandchildren, Madelyn, Quinn, Nathan and Mia; his Mother Patricia Mullen; his Father in law Larry Mariano; and his seven siblings, Mark T. (Christine) Mullen, Kevin (Joan) Mullen, Maura (Dan) Fitzgerald, Terry (Fiancee Dina Marks) Mullen, Tricia (Frank) Hallinan, James N. "Jay" (Amy) Mullen, Jr., and Katie (Steve) Mullin; and 32 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his viewing Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am and to his Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 am in St. Mary Magdalene Church 2400 Providence Road Media, Pa. 19063. Interment will follow Mass in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Children of the Father Foundation 337 Sagamore Road, Havertown, PA 19083 or in Tony’s name to the Bonner & Prendie Annual Appeal 403 North Lansdowne Ave. Drexel Hill, Pa. 19026.
