2011 has started with an amazing and spectacular aurora borealis - the Northern Lights. God used this natural phenomenon to warn the world of WW2 through the Fatima seer Sr Lucia

They are so beautiful. I notice the Northern Lights come in different colours; these were green and I was wondering if the colour green, in itself has significance. There were great Northern Lights right before the outbreak of World War 2 of course, they were seen as far south as New York and England..

I wonder if the Lights in 1939 were green?

Ahhhhhhhhh I see they were red, 'Blood Red':

We are being pummelled by a big solar flare right now, this should make for some very spectacular auroras in the next few days. For those who can see them, be watching the skies. Though we now understand this phenemonen, it is still a powerful testiment to the beauty and complexity of God's creation, and a reminder that we are so very small within its splendor! Occasionallly we can see a little bit here in northern Illinois...so I will be looking north tonight. I don't know about the solar winds, but today we sure have some strong regular winds here. Scared my kitties right off the window ledge a few minutes ago! LOL

Sure hope the flare doesn't disrupt my GPS navigator on the way to Florida!!! I am counting on technology to get us there! (I'll print a mapquest map too, just in case...)

Space Weather News for Feb. 15, 2011

MAJOR FLARE: Earth-orbiting satellites have detected the strongest solar flare in more than four years. At 0156 UT on Feb. 15th, giant sunspot 1158 unleashed an X2-class eruption. X-flares are the strongest type of x-ray flare, and this is the first such eruption of new Solar Cycle 24. The explosion that produced the flare also sent a solar tsunami rippling through the sun's atmosphere and, more importantly, hurled a coronal mass ejection toward Earth. This raises the possibility of geomagnetic storms in the days ahead.

...Oh and I meant also to say, how God uses his nature to give us signs, and so is this another opportunity for that?
Garabandal mentions how an aurora heralded in WW 2 and we are now talking about another war on the horizon...will this year also be the year for amazing auroras? We had one at the beginning of the year, and now this, and more to come I am sure. The last few years have been eerily quiet in terms of sunspots and geometric storms...all laying in wait, perhaps. The calm before the storm?

It's good too, I suppose to remember that not all Signs in the Sky are dire. For instance the Star of Bethlehem that foretold the birth of Jesus and the rainbow after the flood that shows God's promise that he would never flood the entire Earth again.

I heard a poem at the weekend in which the writer described a rainbow as, 'God smiling'. :D Which is beautiful.

    Wow - Beautiful!

Or my Avitar - the sun miracle we saw on Cross mountain at "just the right time" for us, that I captured with my own camerra. Or any sun miracle that speaks to us.
