I saw a video earlier of the Pope and he looks dreadful - bloated and pale. Close to the end I think.
Sad. Prayers for pope francis. I've seen people live many years like this though. But he's probably within his final 5 yrs.
I know he had a fall awhile ago. And he has one lung I think. Usually with a lung issue people take steroids. That causes a moon face. He Is aging.
Prayers. I of course pray for all at the Vatican on my rosaries each day. I most certainly do not pray for his intentions of course, that would be crazy. It is terrible to think of a Pope falling into hell, as several of the saints and mystics suggest they burn in torment. Hebrews 10:31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
My daughter has autoimmune issues and occasionally needs prednisone. Her whole face swells up on it. Looks like prednisone.
May the Mercy of God knock at the door of each person at the Vatican. I will pray for a painless death and eternal salvation for him. I can't deny that, when he dies, I will be relieved.
Is he undergoing Chemo secretly? maybe it's just photo quality, but it seems he lost his eyebrows and eyelashes
There are times when I forget that when this pope dies, he will be laid to rest in a simple coffin, and his body will not be displayed on a catafalque.
I'm very familiar with Prednisone as I have had to take several courses of it over my life. It's a very difficult medicine to take and it causes fluid retention as well as excess appetite, both of which result in weight gain. It causes me problems with balance and gait. I get the moon face effect too and I become reclusive from feeling self conscious of the unusual appearance of my puffy face. It also can cause emotional lability. This results in outbursts of tears for no reason. In order to get off the drug, one has to go on a tapering schedule that can last several weeks - as it is dangerous to simply stop it cold turkey. Another very bad effect is that is causes Osteoporosis and that requires a special medicine or annual infusion to try to strengthen the skeleton and build new bone. After several courses of Prednisone, I now have the skeleton of a 75 year old and I broke a rib prior to Christmas , simply by sneezing once.
Yes, it’s not pleasant stuff for sure. She only takes it when at high risk. Healthcare is very bad where we live and she is on a waiting list for an autoimmune specialist. I am hoping there’s a better option. So difficult to diagnosis autoimmune. There’s literally hundreds of types. In the meantime, she is working on healthy diet and exercise. Thankfully, her doctor has been responsible when she goes on prednisone. She had one in the past that didn’t taper so well and she wasn’t well. I can relate to all those symptoms above, which is good to know when supporting someone having to go on it sometimes. God bless you.
